In this NIC, considering the characteristic of small and large packets, each kind of frame is specially designed to maximize the communication efficiency. In addition to the essential transceivers, almost all the functions are integrated into a single FPGA chip. So the NIC has low development cost, good flexibility and high efficiency. The protocol assigns slots for nodes basing on information in their two-hop neighborhood, which can be collected by listening before slot assignment. In ODSA, a slot is divided into several mini-slots, and the reservation procedure is realized in the selected idle slot by message exchanging. ODSA can adapt to variations of application and network topology. Furthermore, it can ensure the time delays of nodes owning slots. For the test, this paper presents a threshold based admission control model which uses IPTV agents. The contribution of this paper is threefold. First, we present an analytical model for computing blocking probabilities of IPTV contents. Then, we extend the analytical model to perform profit analysis in the system. It is designed especially to minimize the number of beacon slots that are uniquely dedicated to each of CH and GW without any conflict under a single-frequency radio operation throughout network coverage area. In addition to the bandwidth efficiency, it leads to improvement of various performances, e.g., energy efficiency and delay, in both the downstream and upstream under a cluster-based hierarchical topology. With such outage capacity constraint, time diversity can be accomplished by stochastically distributing the power among the blocks. For K=2, we derive the stochastic-optimal power policy in closed-form for transmit power minimization. For K>2, we propose to minimize the power by constraining an upper bound of the outage probability. In so doing, the problem becomes convex and permits a closed-form optimal power policy to be derived. This paper proposes a fuzzy implementation of TCP (fuzzy TCP), instead of current slow-start/congestion avoidance approach for efficiently determining size of the congestion window at each time a new acknowledgement receives. The scheme uses the current size of congestion window and the slow-start threshold (ssthresh) as well as the last and previous round trip times. The proposed fuzzy controller updates the size of congestion window using a fuzzy system.
