A nurse is one of the trained personnel working in the maternity unit 24 hours or round the clock. Data suggests that the morbidity and mortality can be reduced by 80% just by learning and following the steps of basic resuscitation correctly. Methodology: A quantitative approach with pre experimental pre test-post test design was adopted for the study. The samples from the selected hospitals of Belagavi district were selected using convenient sampling technique. The sample consisted of 60 nursing officers. The tools used for data collection was structured knowledge questionnaire and practice scale. Results: With respect to knowledge scores the statistical paired ‘t’ implies that the difference in the pretest and post-test value was found statistically significant at 5% level ( p <0.05) with a paired ‘t’ value of 10.03 and with respect to practice scores the statistical paired ‘t’ implies that the difference in the pretest and post-test value was found statistically significant at 5% level ( p <0 .05) with a paired ‘t’ value of 9.60. There exists a statistical significance in the difference of knowledge and practice score indicating the positive impact of demonstration method. Conclusion: Study results showed demonstration method of teaching found an effective method of teaching to enhance the knowledge and practices of working nursing officers. Thus, it can be concluded that practical methods of teachings can be used for the enhancement of the knowledge and practices of working nursing personnel on various life saving procedures.","PeriodicalId":205602,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Research in Paediatric Nursing","volume":"12 5","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120999266","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At first the data were collected from the control group to avoid contamination. For control group routine procedure was done, during the procedure the video was taken by the investigator later it was scored by a second person. For experimental group prior to the I.V cannulation the investigator narrates the story regarding the aquarium by using an audio recorder according to the subjects language simultaneously intravenous cannulation was done at the same time the investigator had taken video and later it was the scored by a second person. We can expect that after the pandemic m-health care services will continue to be a significant mode of community Pediatric care. There is an increased utilization of m-health by Pediatric providers during the COVID-19 pandemic. m-health care resulted in improved health care access, optimized disease management, progress in the monitoring of health conditions, and fewer exposures to patients with illnesses during pandemics such as Dengue, COVID-19, Swine flu etc.","PeriodicalId":205602,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Research in Paediatric Nursing","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123469113","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In many developing countries, injuries are one of the major causes of death in children in the age group of 1-5. The house is an existing place for infants and small children, who love to explore but aren’t aware of the potential dangers. Being a mother is one of the most important roles a woman can ever pl ay. Mothers play a huge role in their children’s lives, caring for them, loving them, teaching them, and so much more. Objectives: To assess the level of knowledge on child safety measures of domestic accidents among mothers of under five children and to associate the relationship between the level of knowledge and socio demographic variables of mothers of under five children. Methodology: A descriptive study was conducted. Convenient sampling technique was used and 50 under five mothers were selected for the study. Data was obtained by Structured Questionnaires consist of multiple choice Questions on child safety measures of domestic accidents. Results: Result of the study revealed that among 50 participants majority of the participants are in the age group of below 25 years that is 25(50.0%). The majority of the participants are completed the high school education that is 16(32.0%) and 15(30%) participants are completed High secondary education. The majority of the participants are House wife that is 43(86%). The majority of the participant’s religion is Hindu that is 48(96.0%0. The majority of the participants are belong to nuclear family that is 31(62.0%) and the majority of the participants family income is 5000-10000 thousand that is 26(52.0%). The majority of the participants are getting to know the information through the mass media that is 21(42.0%). Among them 10(20.0%) mothers having inadequate knowledge, 39(78.0%) mothers having moderate knowledge and only 1(2.0%) mother having adequate knowledge. Association of knowledge scores with demographic variables shows that Demographic variables such as Occupation and family income shows significance at the level of 0.005 knowledge score and age, education, religion, type of family and source of information are not significance at level of 0.005.
