Although previous studies have explored the antecedents of ecotourism intentions, our understanding of the factors driving demand for ecotourism is still limited. This study explored factors that affect ecotourism intention. Ecotourism knowledge and destination image were evaluated from the perspective of the theory of planned behavior. In total, 441 valid questionnaires (in paper and electronic format) were obtained and analyzed using a structural equation model. We developed an extended theoretical model of planned behavior. The results showed that ecological knowledge, attitude, and perceived behavioral control had a significant impact on ecotourism intention. Destination image directly affected attitudes toward ecotourism. Ecotourism attitude and subjective norms mediated the relationship between ecotourism knowledge and ecotourism intention. This study extended the theory of planned behavior to analyze ecotourism intention according to ecotourism knowledge and destination image. The findings of this study enrich the literature on tourism and consumer behavior, and also have practical implications for ecotourism operators aiming to design experiences for tourists, as well as for government and non-profit organizations attempting to promote ecotourism.","PeriodicalId":20363,"journal":{"name":"Polish Journal of Environmental Studies","volume":"48 24","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2023-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138948915","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"环境科学与生态学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, at the same time, it will cause carbon emissions that should be mitigated as part of Indonesia’s commitment to becoming a net zero emission (2060). This study aims to investigate the direct impacts, indirect impacts, and induced effects caused by an increase in exports on the increase in output, gross value added (GVA), labor absorbed by the manufacturing industry sectors, and predictions of CO 2 e emissions that will arise. The analysis method used is an extended input-output model with the main data of the Input-Output Table and the Greenhouse Gas Inventory Data. A case study of the DI Yogyakarta region and the results showed that the projected export of products and services of around IDR 7.905 trillion would create an output of the manufacturing industry sector of around IDR 5.58 trillion, GVA of around IDR 2.20 trillion and absorb a workforce of around 71,119 people. Furthermore, the carbon emissions produced are 38.72 GgCO 2 e.","PeriodicalId":20363,"journal":{"name":"Polish Journal of Environmental Studies","volume":"54 49","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2023-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138949485","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"环境科学与生态学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The environmental crisis is seen in the indiscriminate disposing of refuse by staff and students, the poor maintenance culture of the toilet environment in the students’ hostel, the pollution of the air caused by the burning of refuse by staff in residential areas, and the indiscriminate urination and defecation in some parts of the university by students and visitors. This study adopted content analysis. The findings reveal that this has an immense impact on the physical, psychological, and mental state of members of the university community. Having observed this anomaly, this research proposes that Genesis 1:26 serves as a formidable solution to this escalating crisis. This Biblical pericope calls on man to maintain diligence and discipline in managing and maintaining the environment. It is believed that the solutions given will strongly speak to the increasing environmental crisis in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.","PeriodicalId":20363,"journal":{"name":"Polish Journal of Environmental Studies","volume":"36 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2023-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138949865","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"环境科学与生态学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By constructing an index system for new urbanization and ecological environment, and utilizing a coupled coordination degree model, the coupled coordination degrees of new urbanization and ecological environment were calculated for 31 provinces and municipalities in China. Subsequently, the spatio-temporal evolution characteristics and driving factors of the coupled coordination levels between the two systems were analyzed using non-parametric kernel density estimation and geographic detector models. The results indicate the following: (1) The overall coupled coordination degree of the two systems in the country transformed from a mildly imbalanced state to a barely coordinated state. The coupled coordination degrees of the two systems exhibit a “east-central-west” descending distribution pattern across the three major regions, with distinct temporal and internal differences. (2) The overall, eastern, and central regions show a decreasing trend in the improvement rate and imbalance level of the coupled coordination, while the western region exhibits an increasing trend in both improvement rate and imbalance level. The phenomenon of regional divergence between the eastern and western regions is evident. (3) Economic development, social security, technological innovation, industrial structure, market environment, government capacity, and openness to the outside world have significant influences on the coupled coordination of the two systems. The interaction among factors is stronger than the individual effects of each factor, highlighting the need to pay more attention","PeriodicalId":20363,"journal":{"name":"Polish Journal of Environmental Studies","volume":"71 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2023-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138951285","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"环境科学与生态学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Plants of W. trilobata were grown in a greenhouse, and treatments were given for two months . Growth parameters of 60 plants were used to build a numerical model. The neural network model was built using Quasi-Newton approaches that containing Broyden-fletcher-goldfarb-shanno gradient (BFGS) learning algorithm, multilayer perceptron (MLP) training algorithm and sigmoid axon transfer function along with 10 neurons at the input network, 9 neurons in the hidden layer, and 1 neuron in the output layer (10-9-1). The selection and validation of the best predictor model were based on lower values of errors and higher value of R 2 . The selected model had a higher values of R 2 = 0.90 and lower values of errors i.e (relative approximate error, RAE = 0.004, root mean square error, RMS = 0.027, mean absolute error, MAE = 0.004, mean absolute percentage error, MAPE = 0.013). Moreover, the highest rank 1 was obtained for leaf area during sensitivity analysis followed by water potential and photosynthesis ranked 2 rd and 3 th , respectively. The constructed model of W. trilobata under flooding and nitrogen conditions is the new feature in the management of invasive plant species and gives direction to control its spread.","PeriodicalId":20363,"journal":{"name":"Polish Journal of Environmental Studies","volume":"34 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2023-12-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138949633","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"环境科学与生态学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is also drought resistant, which increases its future potential under the ongoing climate change. Moreover, perennial wheat offers and effective strategy for carbon sequestration through increasing soil carbon stocks. However, the effect of perennial wheat on soil properties remains uncertain in the conditions of south-eastern Kazakhstan due to the lack of data. To fill this gap, we conducted a study in which five varieties of perennial wheat were grown in the Almaty region in soils of different fertility for two years. As a result, in the plot where topsoil was removed to a depth of 25 cm, total carbon increased by nearly three times, from 0.54% to 1.42%, and the number of microorganisms increased from 715.1x103±0.2x103 to 48.0x103±0.6x103 colony forming units per ml of soil. The photosynthetic performance of perennial wheat varieties in the experimental plot was not negatively affected by the removal of top soil suggesting that perennial wheat can successfully restore soil fertility and replenish soil with chemical elements involved in photosynthesis. Our results confirm that in the conditions of the south-eastern Kazakhstan perennial wheat makes a significant contribution to the soil carbon stock accumulation and development of soil biota; in our study, these effects were particularly strong in the case of degraded soil.","PeriodicalId":20363,"journal":{"name":"Polish Journal of Environmental Studies","volume":"120 12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2023-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138959027","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"环境科学与生态学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The problem of air pollution has become the focus of public opinion and academic research in recent years. This article departs from the traditional single-scale approach and adopts a spatial multiscale perspective. Leveraging annual average PM 2.5 concentration data and urban socioeconomic data spanning the period from 2009 to 2018, in conjunction with atmospheric PM 2.5 remote sensing inversion datasets, a comprehensive analysis is conducted. This analysis encompasses the utilization of GIS spatial-temporal analysis techniques and geographic detectors. The primary objective of this research is to investigate the spatiotemporal evolution characteristics of PM 2.5 in the Yangtze River Basin during the years 2009 to 2018, as well as to elucidate the influencing factors therein. This study is crucial to the joint prevention and control of air pollution. The Results showed that (1) The overall trend in the number of cities with annual average PM 2.5 concentrations below 35 μg/m³ (the annual limit value in China) exhibits fluctuating upward dynamics. (2) From 2009 to 2018, the low-value area distribution of the annual average PM 2.5 concentration in the Yangtze River Basin was stable, whereas the high-value area showed a trend of “first decreasing, then increasing, and then decreasing.” (3) The spatial and temporal agglomeration effect was evident, showing an “east-hot, west-cold” agglomeration pattern. From 2009 to 2018, the high-value aggregation area expanded to the middle part of the Yangtze River Basin and then continued to the north. The low-value concentration area was concentrated in the western part of the Yangtze River Basin, and the range change trend was not large. (4) While each variable concurrently engages in interactions, they also exhibit varying degrees of influence on the spatiotemporal distribution of PM 2.5 . Among them, population density and the proportion of urban built-up areas in the index layer of population and urbanization are strongly correlated factors.","PeriodicalId":20363,"journal":{"name":"Polish Journal of Environmental Studies","volume":" 0","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2023-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138961764","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"环境科学与生态学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, Fanjing Mountain, a typical subtropical forest, was used to investigate and analyze the differences in soil properties and climate change characteristics of Fanjing Mountain in 1982 and 2014. Then redundancy analysis was used to analyze the influence of climate factors on soil properties. The results showed that: 1) Compared to 1982, the soil properties of Fanjian Mountain changed significantly in 2014. The soil texture evolved from a silty loam in 1982 to a silty clay loam in 2014. There was a significant increase in soil clay particles. In addition, the soil showed acidification, weakened cation exchange capacity, and relatively stable soil total nitrogen but significant loss of soil organic matter and total phosphorus nutrients. 2) In the past 32 years, the environmental climate of Fanjing Mountain has shown the characteristics of increasing annual average temperature and annual rainfall, frequent extreme temperature, widening the annual temperature range and decreasing annual relative humidity. 3) Soil type and maximum annual temperature have a highly significant effect on the evolution of soil properties, while annual rainfall and slope orientation significantly affect the evolution.","PeriodicalId":20363,"journal":{"name":"Polish Journal of Environmental Studies","volume":" 1123","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2023-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138960221","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"环境科学与生态学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
