We here used Mann-Kendall and sliding t-tests to analyze the annual runoff and annual sand transport in the basin based on data from Ganjiang River hydrological stations from 1958 to 2019. Our results show that: (1) the interannual variation of runoff in the Ganjiang River basin from 1958 to 2019 is significant, alternating between flat, dry, and abundant water conditions, with an abrupt change occurring in 1990 at all stations. (2) The annual sand transport at all stations showed a significant decrease, being most significant at Waizhou and Ji'an stations. Abrupt changes in the amount of sand transported at four upstream stations, Ji'an Station, and Waizhou Station were seen during 2002, 1994, and 1997, respectively. (3) Sand transport in the basin varies with runoff, and the two are highly correlated. Factors such as climate change and human activities can affect water and sand changes in the Ganjiang River basin, which requires a thorough understanding of how climate change may impact ecological protection and the strengthening water resources management.","PeriodicalId":20363,"journal":{"name":"Polish Journal of Environmental Studies","volume":"29 7","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2024-01-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139383043","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"环境科学与生态学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Mining activities, in contrast, severely destabilize the adjacent ecological systems. The soil transformation environmental issue in mining areas is inextricably linked to process techniques. Inconsistencies in harm and serviceability arise from different mining techniques. This study was conducted in Fujian, China, which has abundance of ion adsorption type rare earth resources (IAT-Res). We investigated the soil interaction effects of two mining techniques (heap leaching and in-situ leaching). After eight years of restoration, soil destruction and nutrient imbalance remain significant in the heap leaching mining regions. The effects of heap leaching are distinct, whereas pollution caused by in-situ leaching is hidden. Although the in-situ leaching technique resulted in less soil erosion, its potential environmental risk cannot be ignored. The greater number of (NH 4 ) 2 SO 4 leachate residues left over after in-situ leaching contaminate the surrounding ecosystem as they are easily translocated. Through this study, we demonstrate the ecological impacts of different mining techniques in mining areas. As a result, to obtain accurate protection and contaminant control management. However, additional interests should address the leachate and REE pollution caused by in-situ leaching in a larger region.","PeriodicalId":20363,"journal":{"name":"Polish Journal of Environmental Studies","volume":"28 40","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2024-01-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139388918","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"环境科学与生态学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Analysing the influence of rural industry integration on agricultural green development is of great significance for realizing agricultural modernization and sustainable development. Based on panel data of 30 provinces in China during 2010-2021, the entropy weight TOPSIS method was used to estimate the agricultural green development level (AGD) and the rural industrial integration level (RII). The influence of agricultural industry integration (AII) on the level of agricultural green development (AGD) and its nonlinear characteristics were analysed by constructing a fixed model, intermediary effect model and threshold effect model. The results show the following. (1) A significant positive relationship exists between the RII and the AGD; that is, the development of rural industry integration can effectively promote the green development of agriculture. Regarding the three regions in China, the integration of rural industries in eastern China plays the most prominent role in the green development of agriculture. (2) Rural industrial integration has significant scale, capital and technology effects; that is, rural industrial integration mainly promotes AGD indirectly by promoting agricultural scale management and agricultural technological progress and improving rural human capital. (3) Rural industrial integration has a significant nonlinear marginal increasing effect on AGD. In the dynamic process of AGD changing from low to high, the effect of the marginal utility of rural industrial integration on AGD is gradually enhanced. Therefore, China should strengthen the deeply integrated development of rural industries, ensure the appropriate scale operation of agriculture and adjustments to the planting","PeriodicalId":20363,"journal":{"name":"Polish Journal of Environmental Studies","volume":"5 20","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2023-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139148169","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"环境科学与生态学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Micronutrients, especially boron (B) have an important role in various physiological processes and stress tolerance while its deficiency could affect the yield and quality of crop plants. In this context, this study investigated the significance of foliar B application at various growth stages on maize yield components, yield, and grain B content. The treatments consisted of boron foliar application levels (0, 0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2%) at different growth stages (V4 = fourth leaf stage, V8 = eighth leaf stage and VT = tasseling stage) during summer 2021 and 2022. The results revealed that plant height, leaf area plant -1 , leaf area index, plants at harvest, ear length, grains ear -1 , thousand grains weight, shelling percentage, biological yield, grain yield and harvest index were increased with 1 % B foliar spray compared to other levels. In addition, ear length, grains ear -1 , thousand grains weight, shelling percentage, biological yield, grain yield and harvest index were increased with B foliar application at VT (tasseling stage) compared to other stages. It was concluded that the application of 1% foliar boron (1.28 kg B ha -1 ) i.e. 7.32 kg H 3 BO 3 at tasseling stage improved growth, yield and yield components of maize.","PeriodicalId":20363,"journal":{"name":"Polish Journal of Environmental Studies","volume":" 11","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2023-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139145181","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"环境科学与生态学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such exploration not only facilitates the sustainable utilization of land resources but also contributes to ecological environmental preservation and the advancement of regional economic and social development. This study aims to analyze the spatial and temporal characteristics and driving forces of land use in JHHR over the past three decades (1990-2020) using 18 driving factors selected from both the natural environment and social economy. We have considered four different scenarios, including Natural Development (ND), Rapid Development (RD), Cultivated Land Protection (CLP), and Ecological Protection (EP). We used the PLUS model to simulate land use changes in JHHR until 2040, and we analyzed the spatial distribution pattern of land under different objectives. The results show that: (1) The main types of land use in the Jianghuai hilly area are arable land and woodland. In the past 30 years, the land use changes have been relatively stable, the area of arable land and woodland has continued to decrease, and the construction land has continued to grow; unused land and grassland have the highest dynamic degree, with the highest comprehensive dynamic degree from 2000 to 2005, at 0.42%; (2) In 2020, the simulation accuracy of land use in different time spans is high, with a Kappa coefficient higher than 0.85 and an overall accuracy higher than 92%, both higher than the standard. (3) The main driving factors for land expansion from 1990 to 2020 were natural factors such as DEM and slope, and the driving forces for construction land mainly came from socio-economic factors. (4) There are obvious gaps in land use changes under different scenarios. A comprehensive comparison of the growth of other types of land use to varying degrees under the ecological protection scenario and under the protection of ecological land use can be used as the optimal development scenario model. The scenario simulation can provide an effective reference for the rational planning and management of land in the Jianghuai hilly area.","PeriodicalId":20363,"journal":{"name":"Polish Journal of Environmental Studies","volume":"1 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2023-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139150755","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"环境科学与生态学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The characteristics and driving factors of plant-soil ecological stoichiometry during the planting process of the loess layer (LL) (0-90 cm) and Pisha stone layer (PSL) (90-180 cm) were studied to reveal the limiting factors of plant-soil nutrients and the driving mechanism of ecosystem evolution in this area. In this study, the correlation between the contents of carbon (C), nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and their ratios in alfalfa and soil with different planting years (2, 5, 8, and 10 yr) was measured. Plant-soil C, N, and P stoichiometry characteristics were explored to analyze the influence mechanisms of fallow years and soil layers. The results showed that the changes of C, N, and P in alfalfa were similar to those of soil organic carbon (SOC), total nitrogen (TN), and total phosphorus (TP) in LL. Alfalfa C/N was significantly positively correlated with soil C/P and N/P. Alfalfa growth is limited by N in the early stages and P in the middle and late stages, which can provide a theoretical basis for vegetation restoration and soil erosion management in the Pisha stone region. This study investigated the stochastic properties of the alfalfa-soil continuum and its fluctuations with the planting year.","PeriodicalId":20363,"journal":{"name":"Polish Journal of Environmental Studies","volume":"7 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.8,"publicationDate":"2023-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139150830","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"环境科学与生态学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
