When we use the color filter array, however, we need to interpolate the missing pixels. In this paper, we propose an enhanced directionally weighted demosaicing algorithm for the color filtered images of the single-sensor digital camera. The noise can be mixed to the captured image and the min, max, and min-max filters are effective in removing those noises. We use the min, max and min-max filters to reduce the effects of the neighboring noise samples. Compared to the conventional algorithms, the proposed algorithm achieves better visual quality without aliasing artifacts.","PeriodicalId":202698,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE International Conference on Signal Image Technology and Internet Based Systems","volume":"167 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134202003","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper covers one of the most important areas of robot, ldquodecision making algorithmrdquo or in lay-manpsilas language, ldquorobot intelligencerdquo. For starting in the field of micro-mouse it is very difficult to begin with highly sophisticated algorithms. This paper begins with very basic wall follower logic to solve the maze. And gradually improves the algorithm to accurately solve the maze in shortest time with some more intelligence. The Algorithm is developed up to some sophisticated level as flood-fill algorithm. The paper would help all the beginners in this fascinating field, as they proceed towards development of the ldquobrain of the systemrdquo, particularly for robots concerned with path planning and navigation.","PeriodicalId":202698,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE International Conference on Signal Image Technology and Internet Based Systems","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121141601","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our architecture is based on processing elements that can perform either prediction or update on a continuous data stream in every two clock cycles. As wavelet transforms are not only used in JPEG2000, their wavelet filters and the corresponding transformations cannot be satisfied by using integer arithmetics.For this purpose, IEEE 754-compliant floating-point arithmetics are used to compute the transformation.We feature a multi-context configuration to select among various DWTs. Different memory sizes and multi-level transformations are supported. For the 32-bit implementation, SNR values between 124-144 dB can be achieved. The proposed filter uses the dynamic characteristics of truncated volterra series. Generally the linear filters reduce the noise and cause blurring at the edges. Some nonlinear filters based on median or rank operators deal only with impulse noise and fail to cancel the Gaussian distributed noise. The proposed filter effectively attenuates Gaussian and mixed Gaussian-Impulse noise and preserves the edges much better than the methods using Median Filter (MF), Wiener Filter (WF) or Kalman Filter (KF).","PeriodicalId":202698,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE International Conference on Signal Image Technology and Internet Based Systems","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128508016","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A lot of companies, governments, and universities are now using OSS technologies because of the advantages they bring. However, the use of an OSS is actually hard for its beginners, because many OSSes have few good manuals, where they have usually been developed by volunteers. Besides, the installation of an OSS package sometimes requires installations of multiple OSS packages to be integrated together. In this paper, we propose a method of automatically generating an installation manual of an OSS package, including the one requiring the integration of multiple OSS packages. Then, we implement the proposed method for evaluations. Our experimental results in installations of OSS packages including the one requiring the integration of four packages by generated manuals verify the effectiveness of our method.","PeriodicalId":202698,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE International Conference on Signal Image Technology and Internet Based Systems","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116246942","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As the Impressionism is one of the most complete painting technique, able to preserve notably details, light effects at a close or far range, we propose a method based on an impressionist approach. The input image is analyzed and described through impressionist characteristics that will be preserved when a zoom out will be realized. We created a set of characteristics of images and the corresponding algorithms to compute them. These characteristics are then used to build a set of zooming out algorithms. To validate the process, the zooms out have been applied to different types of images: photographs of paintings and other photographs. Results prove that this approach is more suitable than existing ones.","PeriodicalId":202698,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE International Conference on Signal Image Technology and Internet Based Systems","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121949381","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
