The board microcontroller edit by C language that learn selection statement with real sensors, LED blinking with repetition statement, input and output organization using function. In general we evaluated the students' response in five criteria namely the students attributes, lecturer's profile, implementation, facilities and students' understanding. From the survey, the results in exit survey are higher compared to entrance survey for all criteria. This shows that the students are satisfied with the implementation of the module which has increased their understanding in learning C Programming.","PeriodicalId":202625,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE 8th International Conference on Engineering Education (ICEED)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124483369","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, there is a widely noted gap between industry needs and the education that new engineers receive. This manuscript presents an open co-working space implemented by the Universidad de Ingenieria y Tecnologia equipped with electrical, mechanical and industrial tools, to allow students, faculty and industry's engineers not only to build engineering projects or products that solve real problems, but also to fix and adapt personal technical products by applying and developing theirs innovative skills. We have called it the ‘UTEC GARAGE’ and this space is transforming every time according with the different projects developed to assure the learning and collaboration between industry — academia — society. We are in the second version of the implementation. Started in 2014, the UTEC GARAGE is always open to the university community with a total of more than 250 projects developed in only 4 semesters, including 1 patent and 4 patent applications. We expect to have a full use of the UTEC GARAGE in the next semester to get up to 500 students, 170 engineering projects, per semester. We have started talking to close universities to replicate this model in their campuses to create a GARAGE network to provide more collaboration in engineering education and projects.","PeriodicalId":202625,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE 8th International Conference on Engineering Education (ICEED)","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131674241","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Strong semiconductor knowledge helps students in understanding other electronic engineering subjects. The paper aims to analyse students' feedback on the implementation of blended learning in semiconductor devices. The objective of blended learning application is to enhance efficiency of the learning process in semiconductor course. Several activities of blended learning have been implemented in this study in order to obtain students' responses. The survey reveals that a majority of the students agree that the blended learning is suitable to be implemented in the semiconductor devices course. It is hoped that the implementation of blended learning in semiconductor devices can help students increase their interests and confidence level in engineering study.","PeriodicalId":202625,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE 8th International Conference on Engineering Education (ICEED)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126989846","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
