The mismatching between newly defined functions for driver-less operation and traditional CBTC system is an issue in the phase of integration testing, especially in abnormal or seldom scenarios. In the paper, a newly safety analysis method-STPA is applied on Fully automatic operation metro to capture causal scenarios. A causal scenario identification method is proposed to help extract abnormal operational scenarios of Fully automated operation metro, which can be used to improve emergency response ability by system design and is meaningful for the safe operation of Beijing Yanfang Line.","PeriodicalId":202415,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Intelligent Rail Transportation (ICIRT)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117243216","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to several related system specifications that had been issued, took the typical Temporary Speed Restriction Server (TSRS) handover scenario as an example to build the Symbolic Model Verifier (SMV) model of it. By using Computation Tree Logic (CTL) formula to describe the properties of the model, and the model checker NuSMV to model checking the established SMV model in order to confirm the model is correct. Then, according to the characteristics of the train control system, several mutation operators are being thoughtfully selected, which would apply to the model to mutant and generate many mutation models. Putting these mutation models into NuSMV to check models, NuSMV automatically generated set of counter examples, by extracting counter example paths, test cases were finally generated. The results show that compared with traditional method, the proposed method reduce the task of generate test cases and abundant the test suites.","PeriodicalId":202415,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Intelligent Rail Transportation (ICIRT)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121716741","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Under the conditions of railway network formation, it is possible to find circuitous routes for trains. A continuous time dynamic graph is established, taking into account the distance and allowable speed of the railway line, the train stop preference, and the carrying ability. A modified intelligent water drops algorithm is proposed to search the optimal circuitous route in real time. A series of experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively solve train routing adjustment problem under emergency conditions.","PeriodicalId":202415,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Intelligent Rail Transportation (ICIRT)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126912812","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Conventionally these forces are measured by special wheelset called LV wheelset only at the timing to secure the safety of newly produced vehicle or newly constructed tracks. On the other hand the authors developed remote monitoring system of measuring these forces from track side or vehicle in commercial line. The authors also developed the system of controlling friction between wheel and rail which affects deeply the performance of vehicle dynamics. In this paper the state of controlled wheel/rail friction monitored by this new system is reported and the idea of Condition Based Maintenance of wheel/rail friction is also proposed.","PeriodicalId":202415,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Intelligent Rail Transportation (ICIRT)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132526066","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most studies focus on the off-line optimization of recommended speed profile. In this paper, we design a moving horizon optimization algorithm which can get the speed profile online. We use the velocity and operation time as state variables of the nonlinear train operation model and take the energy consumption and punctuality as objectives. Then we apply the sequential quadratic programming (SQP) to such multi-objective optimization problem with several nonlinear constraints. The simulation results based on the Yizhuang Line of Beijing Subway indicate that, the sequential quadratic programming based moving horizon optimization algorithm has high computational efficiency and can make a trade-off between the energy consumption and punctuality.","PeriodicalId":202415,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Intelligent Rail Transportation (ICIRT)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124295099","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In particular, the virtual coupling of two rail vehicles confronts the rail industry with massive challenges regarding communications technology. Data rates above 50 Mbit/s at extremely low error rates need to be realized. Our examinations cover coding schemes such as 16 QAM up to 1024 QAM, enabling a maximum data transfer rate of 240 Mbit/s. The results indicate in which way antenna arrangements and beam alignments affect the signal quality and what MCS fulfills the train environment requirements best. Finally, the identified setup is selected and a recommendation for further research activities and tests on a rail vehicle in operation is made.","PeriodicalId":202415,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Intelligent Rail Transportation (ICIRT)","volume":"726 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116132240","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This puts the railway system under pressure to maximize the use of available capacity. An intelligent traffic management systems (TMS) is used to improve railway performance and handle the railway traffic once a disturbance happens. TMS needs a variety of input data to monitor the current traffic, predict the future traffic and solve potential conflicts. A fundamental input parameter of an intelligent TMS is the position of trains in real-time. Train position reporting inaccuracies can significantly influence the TMS performance and lead it to provide suboptimal solutions. In this paper, we assess the impact of position reporting inaccuracies on a local TMS applied to timetables consuming different amounts of capacity. A case study on Dundee Central Junction, in the Scotland/UK, has been investigated. The results are compared using the trains’ total delay and the number of cases where TMS has been misguided and a suboptimal solution was produced. The results show that, once TMS is misguided by positioning inaccuracies, a high capacity timetable’s TMS solution leads to more delays compared with a lower capacity timetable.","PeriodicalId":202415,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Intelligent Rail Transportation (ICIRT)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122980887","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The congestion-free commute can be realised by combining ideas for ultra-high-frequency train operations and the ability to control passenger behaviour in a railway system through the “reservation-compulsory” policy. However, to maximise utilisation of capacity, the ticketing system that issues and maintains reservation must be highly “flexible”, i.e., seat arrangements for passengers who have not been on board the services they reserved yet should be able to be changed at any time. In this paper, the author discusses the requirements for the ticketing system that realises the “flexibility” necessary for the realisation of reservation-compulsory commuting railways, mainly through discussions on the existing ticketing systems and the IPASS ticketing system concept, which the author has proposed in the 1990s as the “ideal system”.","PeriodicalId":202415,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Intelligent Rail Transportation (ICIRT)","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127182149","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It requires a reliable control system, especially to implement the optimization methods. This paper aims to develop a relay-feedback autotuning proportional-derivative (PD) control design for the ATO system that can maintain the train speed within the specified trajectory and stability. Three key performances are employed to evaluate the proposed controller. The first is to follow a predefined trajectory. The second is to comply, in terms of punctuality, with being no more than 30 seconds early and no more than 30 seconds late with respect to the trajectory running time. The third is to show superior Integrated Absolute Error (IAE) and Integrated Square Error (ISE) performance compared to the conventional controllers. The results show that the proposed controller can meet all the key performances and outperforms the conventional controllers.","PeriodicalId":202415,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Intelligent Rail Transportation (ICIRT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126071987","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
