Current applications to LST systems are based on pilot-aid transmissions, with the problem of reducing spectral efficiency. In this paper, the new adaptive algorithm called multilayer recursive least square (RLS) is applied to an iterative receiver structure in LST systems. A multi-layer RLS algorithm is an efficient method to provide accurate interference cancellation and fast convergence. This multi-layer RLS adaptive iterative receiver considers joint detection/decoding and channel estimation to avoid the periodic insertion of pilot-tones and hence improves spectral efficiency. The proposed iterative adaptive receiver is compared with a lower bound non-adaptive MMSE receiver where the channel state information (CSI) is assumed to be perfectly known a priori at the receiver. The proposed receiver structure is suitable for MIMO systems in slow time variant channels. The basic method involves comparing real-time received signal strength indication values with those stored in a precreated radio map to estimate the user's location. However, this basic tracking technique can have an rms error of almost 5 m, which is particularly high for indoor tracking. The performance of three different refinement algorithms was simulated across a range of testbed environments. We build on recent work that stated the optimization problem without solving for the transformation. Specifically, we provide a closed-form solution for the multi-input single-output (MISO) systems, and a numerical solution for the multi-input multi-output (MIMO) systems. The expression for the large system MIMO capacity is calculated in closed form using replica analysis and Grassmann variables. The interference of adjacent cells is studied and the Gaussian approximation (GA) is investigated for simplifying the interference simulation. The major influence of the interfering cells is restricted to the peripheral area of the desired cell. In particular, it is shown, by simulations, that the GA for the impinged interference signals is an appropriate assumption. We firstly derive a tight parametric exponential approximation for the bit error probability in additive white Gaussian noise depending on GFSK modulation parameters according to the BT standard. Then, from this expression we derive the mean block error probability (BLEP) for DH packets transmission in Rayleigh fading channel by adopting different diversity reception techniques, such as selection diversity and maximal ratio combining (MRC). In particular, the impact of the diversity order and combining techniques on the BLEP is shown. For the MRC technique, we also obtain a tight bound on the BLEP. This system utilizes a novel combination, which consists of orthogonal CC codes for data spreading and a suitably designed multiuser-detector (MUD) algorithm, in order to enhance the current 3rd generation (3G) mobile systems. We first present a multiclass admission control scheme with UMTS QoS classes in the DiffServ IP network. We further extend this scheme for end-to-end admission control from the 3G WCDMA to the DiffServ IP networks and investigate how to interconnect a future wireless network with the Internet for seamless end-to-end information transmission.
