In this paper, we used the bisecting K-means clustering algorithm based on the user’s current quality-of-service (QoS) to deploy the UABSs to cellular networks and demonstrated that its performance was superior to the traditional bisecting K-means clustering algorithm. In addition, in order to reduce the interference between the drone small cells (DSCs) and the macro cells, we investigated three frequency-domain based Inter-Cell Interference Coordination (ICIC) and analyzed their performance. The results show that the proposed scheme can significantly reduce outage probability.","PeriodicalId":201746,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE/CIC International Conference on Communications in China (ICCC Workshops)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124675397","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, to achieve efficient scheduling of hybrid energy powered eRRHs, the energy efficiency of a downlink F-RAN with capacity-limited fronthaul links is investigated, where the eRRHs are powered by the power grid or harvest energy from radio frequency signals. To maximize the energy efficiency, the beamforming vector of the transmitter and the user-centric clustering scheme are jointly optimized under fronthaul capacity and transmission power constraints. We apply some approximate techniques and generalize the relationship between weighted-sum-rate and weighted minimum-mean-squared-error problems to obtain a tractable formulation for the optimization problem. Accordingly, an iteratively algorithm is proposed. Simulation results are provided to show the performance of the algorithm.","PeriodicalId":201746,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE/CIC International Conference on Communications in China (ICCC Workshops)","volume":"123 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124529088","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we study resource allocation for computation offloading in F-RANs, in which the computation and radio resources are considered. To minimize the total cost with respect to the energy consumption and the offloading latency, a joint optimization problem is formulated to optimize the offloading decision, the CPU-cycle frequency and the transmit power control. To solve this non-linear and non-convex problem, we propose an iterative algorithm, which can be proved to converge a stationary optimal solution. Finally, we provide the simulation results to show the convergence performance and the total cost performance gains of our proposed joint optimization algorithm.","PeriodicalId":201746,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE/CIC International Conference on Communications in China (ICCC Workshops)","volume":"117 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126718926","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But the problems is that large-scale remote radio heads (RRHs) and fog-computing-based access point (F-APs) result in an increase of transmission power consumption. RF energy harvesting technology is expected to prolong the lifetime of communication networks. In this work, take wireless fronthaul into consideration, we propose a new communication scenario, where the BBU pool transfers information and energy to an user equipment (UE) with the help of a F-AP. Subcarrier separating relaying protocol is adopted at the F-AP to achieve power and information splitting. Afterwards, we formulate a resource allocation problem by maximizing the energy harvested at the UE, subject to three constraints: total transmit power, peak power for each subcarrier, and minimum system throughput. Simulation results provide a practical insight into the impact of some related system parameters, e.g., signal-to-noise power ratio (SNR) and the BBU pool to F-AP distance on the performance of wireless energy harvesting through a F-AP. In particular, the proposed algorithm has significant improvement on the system performance.","PeriodicalId":201746,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE/CIC International Conference on Communications in China (ICCC Workshops)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127830541","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this work, an Energy Hub scheduling method is proposed, which could not only meet various energy load demands but also address the transmission line loss and voltage stability influences. The proposed method is then evaluated by case studies, where the electricity network and thermal network are implemented on the Real Time Digital Simulator (RTDS). The FC-AE-1553 protocol supports periodic service and strong timing service and uses the fixed bandwidth and preemptive bandwidth allocation. IP protocol supports burst service and uses dynamic bandwidth allocation mechanism based on weight ratio. In this paper, a multi service FC network simulation platform is constructed, and the scheduling mechanism is analyzed by combining theoretical analysis with simulation. In this paper, we proposed a segment routing based routing/TE framework for integrated terrestrial-satellite networks. In particular, we showed that near-optimal performance can be obtained with a limited number of middle nodes placed in the segments compared to multi-commodity flow. Furthermore, we formulated the segment routing problem with maximum profit as a primal-dual set cover problem, and presented an online heuristic algorithm to solve the optimization problem. We have proven that the proposed algorithm is $left[ {frac{1}{2},log d} right]$-competitive. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the traditional satellite algorithms in terms of throughput and rejection probability. In addition, we presented an implementation architecture of the segment routing in integrated terrestrial-satellite networks.","PeriodicalId":201746,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE/CIC International Conference on Communications in China (ICCC Workshops)","volume":"210 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131617863","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Content-based edge caching is deemed to be an efficient solution. In this paper, we present a caching structure and propose a two-stage update strategy in order to reduce the file-access latency and cost in an application scenario covered by the dense base-stations and Wi-Fi signals where users are stationary or moving at a low speed. In the UDN architecture, the proposed strategy can obtain access information based on the combination of user preferences and file attributes to cache high-popularity files on the Radio Access Network (RAN) side. We also apply a transfer actor-critic learning framework to save energy consumption of the base station groups. In addition, filtering of junk files is taken into account to increase the utilization of cache storage space. Finally, we assess the proposed scheme by plenty of simulations. The results show significant reduction on file-access latency and cost as a result of the two-stage update strategy for edge caching deployment method.","PeriodicalId":201746,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE/CIC International Conference on Communications in China (ICCC Workshops)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128575577","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is challenging to support multimedia content distribution in short end-to-end delay with limited network resources (e.g., bandwidth). In this context, we study the benefit of adopting the space-ground integration network (SGIN) to alleviate the traffic load of terrestrial networks and provide globally \"anywhere-anytime\" Internet access. Furthermore, Named Data Networking (NDN), a future network architecture for content delivery, is considered in the SGIN to improve the efficiency of disseminating multimedia contents. Finally, we establish an SGIN platform and conduct simulations based on the platform to compare the multimedia content distribution performance of Internet Protocol (IP) -based architecture and NDN architecture. Simulation results demonstrate that NDN is superior to IP in disseminating multimedia contents in both terrestrial networks and the SGIN. Besides, the SGIN has a better performance than terrestrial networks in terms of end-to-end delay and throughput.","PeriodicalId":201746,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE/CIC International Conference on Communications in China (ICCC Workshops)","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115932974","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
