Plastic material is one of the most popular recycled products, particularly plastic bottles made of PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) and non-PET. Classification of plastic bottle types is necessary and is the first step for plastic bottles recycling processes. Thus, this paper presents multiple correlation method for classifying types of plastic bottles, PET and non-PET bottle. Correlation of each plastic bottle image was calculated from all colours (RGB) histogram of plastic bottle images. The test used 200 images of plastic bottle, 100 images for PET bottles and 100 images for non-PET bottles. Test results showed that the accuracies of classification of the system is 93.33%.","PeriodicalId":200661,"journal":{"name":"2016 13th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON)","volume":"157 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133765167","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

When the human use wheelchairs, from the influence of environment, the human feel a sense of unease. In particular, when the human go down slopes using wheelchair, the human feel anxiety if the angle of slope is greater than thresholds, which is different depending on the person. If thresholds can estimate, we have possibility to make wheelchairs using which no one feels the anxiety. However the problem to estimate the threshold of angle to feel the anxiety is difficult. In this paper, we propose an estimation method of angle of threshold to feel the anxiety by using brain waves of the human in the case of going down slopes using wheelchair.","PeriodicalId":200661,"journal":{"name":"2016 13th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130453608","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With larger quantities of sensors, it can provide real-time depth measurements such as Kinect sensor and help researchers find the hand position in the scene without the environment interference such as skin color background. The hand segmentation is based on depth image which is particular correspond to the distance from the signer's hand to Kinect sensor. This article presents a study of the performance for Thai sign language recognition obtained by Kinect sensor in various distance to find the most suitable distance for the accuracy and reliability. After the hand sign is detected, the histograms of oriented gradients will extract the image features of hand sign and proceed to the artificial neural network for recognizing the hand gestures. The result found that the recognition accuracy of Thai finger-spelling of Kinect sensor can work effectively in the distance range of 0.8 - 1.2 meter. The accuracies of recognition for each distance are 83.33% at 0.8m, 81.25% at 1.0m and 72.92% at 1.2m respectively. This distance range can be generated the wide range of brightness in the depth image.","PeriodicalId":200661,"journal":{"name":"2016 13th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON)","volume":"65 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132393259","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of its application is in a hospital for avoiding electromagnetic interference (EMI). Some researchers conclude that a hospital should have less, even no, EMI, that can be produced from the use of radio frequency, such as Wi-Fi. One of instruments used in a hospital is called a posturometry. In this paper, we propose a prototype, which is a development from [8], to send a posturometry data using VLC. It consists of a white LED as the transmitter, Programmable System-on-Chip (PSoC) as the controller and a phototransistor as the receiver. It can send data in a distance of 2 meters and every 15 ms per bit. A detail explanation is presented in this paper.","PeriodicalId":200661,"journal":{"name":"2016 13th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133243210","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main sources of errors in the TEC calculation are satellite and receiver biases. In this paper, we apply the gradient descent algorithm on the receiver bias estimation. The TEC is derived from measurements at 12 dual-frequency GPS stations in Thailand. The criterion of receiver bias estimation is based on the minimum sum of the vertical TEC (VTEC) standard deviation method. The results show that the maximum receiver bias value is approximately 3.69 ns at UDON station, while the minimum value is -5.91 ns at SRTN station. The accuracy of the receiver biases from this algorithm is compared with the reference method. The maximum percentage deviation is about 7.5% at SRTN station. The percentage deviation of the minimum sum of the VTEC between the reference method and the proposed method from all stations are less than 0.05%. Thus, the proposed algorithm is a viable option to estimate the receiver bias.","PeriodicalId":200661,"journal":{"name":"2016 13th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON)","volume":"82 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133287837","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To achieve the PSS with high stabilizing performance against various conditions, this paper focuses on the new parameters optimization of PSS by the probability method. The PSS structure is the practical 2nd-order lead-lag compensator with the local input signal. The optimal tuning of PSS parameters is carried out under random operating conditions generated by Monte Carlo method so that the probability of the occurrence of desired damping ratio for target oscillation modes are maximized. The particle swarm optimization is used to solve for optimal PSS parameters. Study results in the IEEE-39 bus New England system confirm that the proposed PSS yields better damping effect than the conventional PSS under various operating conditions and severe faults.","PeriodicalId":200661,"journal":{"name":"2016 13th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131759761","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Three ionosonde stations of SEALION project located along the magnetic meridian of 100°E are selected to investigate, including two stations in Thailand, namely Chumphon and Chiang Mai, and one station in Indonesia, namely Kototabang. The monthly hourly medians of the foF2 from three ionosonde stations in 2010 are used to compute the observed NmF2. Refer to the TEC data; it can be obtained directly from GPS receiver at Chumphon station since the TEC data in 2010 were observed completely. In contrast, the TEC data at Chiang Mai station lost extremely and those at Kototabang station were unavailable. Hence, the TEC data used for these two stations are obtained from the International GNSS service (IGS). Our results show that 1) for all seasons, the NmF2 values during daytime have the successive decreasing values from Chiang Mai, Kototabang, and Chumphon. While the NmF2 values at three stations are almost identical during nighttime; 2) for all seasons at these three stations, the TEC values in the daytime are larger than those in the nighttime and their maximum values in the equinox and winter are higher than those in the summer; 3) the slab thickness values in all seasons during nighttime are generally larger than those during daytime for all three stations. Meanwhile, during daytime for all seasons, the slab thickness at Chumphon station is the highest among these three stations due to the fountain effect over magnetic equator.","PeriodicalId":200661,"journal":{"name":"2016 13th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON)","volume":"148 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122443097","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
