One method to estimate traffic LoS is to use a central server system to process traffic images captured by road side cameras. However, this approach requires a high performance server system as well as high network throughput to transmit images from the cameras to the server, which results in very high system deployment cost. In this paper, we propose a cost effective distributed solution using smart cameras each of which is equipped with a low cost ARM microprocessor to estimate the LOS from the captured traffic images. The LOS of a road estimated by a corresponding camera will then be sent to a traffic information server. In this study, LOS is determined based on the average traffic flow speed and the road occupancy. The Lucas Kanade optical flow method is used to estimate the speed of the traffic flow. In order to have a real time processing on a low cost platform, the whole LOS estimation algorithm has been optimized. The advantage of this antenna is compact and easy to integrate with planar circuits which is suitable for applications that need wide bandwidth and high gain antenna. The dimension of designed antenna has initially been calculated; then modeled using a commercial electromagnetic simulation to optimize the effect of dielectric properties of substrate on the width and length of dipole element conductors. To validated the designed antenna, it is fabricated and measured to carry out its S11 and radiation patterns. The aims of this work are: a) increasing in correspondence of motor speed with defined reference model speed of the system, b) decreasing of noises under load changes and disturbances, and c) increasing of system stability. Thus, model reference adaptive control is applied instead of non-adaptive or conventional control. Also fuzzy controller is used in place of classic controllers like PI controller. The operation of non-adaptive control and the model reference of fuzzy and conventional adaptive control are studied for derive and adjustment of dc motor speed. Then they are compared with each other. The model reference and fuzzy controller are designed based on securing of the entire system stability. Simulation is done with constant and variable loads. The result obtained shows that the adaptive control is more favorite than non-adaptive control. Also fuzzy adaptive control is more satisfactory than conventional adaptive control. We first show that the variable-frequency-response (VFR) error can be approximated as a rational function with both numerator and denominator expressed as linear functions of the filter coefficients. For simplicity, we call such a rational error function bi-linear error function. Then, we formulate a minimax design as an Rcone-programming problem by means of the bi-linear error function. Since Rcone-programming is convex, solving the Rcone-programming problem arrives at a convergent solution. The conventional fixed-frequency duty control method is combined with frequency control to achieve zero voltage soft switching modes at the lowest duty cycle control. The inverter has been operated at 41-43 kHz. The output power transferred to the load is around 565 watts. It can heat the grilling hot plate from room temperature to approximately 211° C within 5.30 minutes. We present a new application of the Android smartphone's camera equipped with LED flash which used for recording the intensity of light from the fingertip blood volume. The red channel of RGB signals in each picture frame recorded by smartphone returned the plethysmographic information. This contextual information will be converted into time domain signal by using Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) for further used in heart rate estimation process. The final results is the heart rate of each person recorded within 40 seconds. Knee sound signals generated by knee movement so it difference in normal knee joint and degeneration of the knee joint surface. We detected the acoustical parameters, such as the fundamental frequency (F0), the mean amplitude of the pitches, the efficiency of F0 and the efficiency of A0. We compared them with three groups. We record knee sound from 36 normal subjects, 5 patients with osteoarthritis before surgery and 3 patients after surgery in two positions (sitting and standing). The mean values of F0 and A0 of the normal group were larger than other group. Major physical level causes of random variations such as random dopant fluctuation and line edge roughness have been taken into account. The result has been found to be very efficient since it can accurately fit the probabilistic distributions of normalized random drain current variations of the candidate FGMOSFETs obtained by using the Monte-Carlo SPICE simulation based on BSIM3v3 at 0.25μm level with very high level of confidence. By using such result, many beneficial parameters can be formulated and the probabilistic modeling of the variation in FGMOSFET based circuit is possible. The human body is more complex than other application. Therefore, to understand human body channel is so important. The analysis is based on the extension Friis' transmission formula that uses to characterize the WBAN channel transfer function. The rectangular passband waveform is used as UWB transmitted waveform. The channels of 5 positions on human body are measured by using vector network analyzer (VNA). The frequency channel transfer functions, power delay profile (PDP) and path loss are shown. In the proposed unit, a capacitor is used as a voltage source. Then, according to the location of the capacitors in basic units, two cascaded multilevel inverters are proposed. The main advantage of the proposed topologies is decreasing the number of required insulated dc voltage sources. For the proposed cascaded inverter, three algorithms to determine the magnitude of dc voltage sources are proposed. Moreover, in order to balance the capacitor voltages a new control method is proposed.
