The low-dimensional energy spectrum was successfully derived for the respective quasi 3D, 2D and ID system that invoked the effect of quantum confinement (QCE) comparable to the De Broglie wavelength (λD ≅ 10nm). For non-degenerately (ND) doped samples the Fermi-Dirac (FD) integral is well approximated by Boltzmann statistics. However, in degenerate doped quasi 3D, 2D and ID device, the FD integral is found to be approximated by order one-half, zero and minus one-half respectively. The Fermi energy is revealed to be a weak (logarithmic) function of carrier concentration, but varies linearly with temperature in the ND regime. The location of the controller and the setting of their control parameters are optimized by one type of Evolutionary Optimization Technique to improve the performance of the power network. The objective functions are to maximize the system loadability whereas maintaining system security and stability margins, e.g., small signal stability, voltage stability index, and line stability factor within limits by considering the investment costs of the controller and minimizing active power loss of the system. The series FACTS controller is modeled and incorporated in the Newton Raphson power flow problem. The main target of CBIR is to get accurate results with lower computational time. This paper discusses on the comparative method used in color histogram based on two major methods used frequently in CBIR which are; normal color histogram using GLCM, and color histogram using KMeans. A set of 9960 images are used to test the accuracy and the precision of each methods. Using Euclidean distance, similarity between queried image and the candidate images are calculated. Experiment results shows that color histogram with K-Means method had high accuracy and precise compared to GLCM. Scan represents, here, a set of range measurements of the features transformed into a binary image in the environment provided by a laser range finder (LRF). By comparing a scan taken at the current pose of the robot with an existing scan, an estimate of the absolute pose of the robot is obtained. Despite the wide diffusion of commercial applications most of the research works are done in either English, Arabic or Mandarin and the technology underlying is known to only a few laboratories[1]. Thus the development of such a system is still on the primitive stage towards the local Indian languages. This paper discusses regarding an attempt to develop a digit recognition system for Malayalam language using the HMM Toolkit (HTK). In this study, we attempts to solve path planning problem for mobile robot based on potential field method that relies on the use of Laplace's Equation to constrain the generation of a potential function over regions of the configuration space of a mobile robot. An experiment based on finite-difference techniques shows a local minima-free motion with smooth path between the start and goal points. This paper proposed a weighted block iterative method also known as EGSOR via 9-Point Laplacian (EGSOR-9) for solving robot path planning problem. A system identification (SI) technique was employed based on the direct measurements of the input-output data from a bender type piezoelectric actuator mounted on a suitably designed platform equipped with appropriate instrumentation. Eventually, the actuator TF models were approximated through a rigorous analytical procedure. Verification and validation of the results are performed to ensure that the transfer functions obtained are practically viable and implementable. An illustrative case study is also carried out involving the control of the identified piezo actuator using closed-loop control methods that employ a conventional proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller and PID with active force control (PIDAFC). Forward marketing is a contract that will be signed between supplier and client based on the amount of delivery and the price of delivery in future. To be able to sign such a contract the supplier should be very confident that the yield could be achieved. The yield sustainability is a challenging process in agriculture. Mango cultivar Harumanis is one of the best table tropical fruit due to its aroma and sweetness. Despite its overwhelming local demand in Malaysia and also internationally, the fruit supply never meets the demand. The flowering phase is identified as an important stage as plant reproductive physiology. Currently, Harumanis mango flowering only happens once a year that restricts the yield. The material under test (MUT) is clamped between two copper sheets to form a capacitor, which is connected to the Advantest R3767CG vector network analyzer (VNA) to measure its input impedance at the resonant frequency. From the input impedance, the dissipation factor is calculated. Model accuracy is an important factor when tuning a PID for temperature regulation using model-based method such as open-loop Ziegler-Nichols. This study will evaluate the adequacy of two models; each estimated at different operating range using first-order plus dead-time structure. PID controllers derived using both models were evaluated experimentally for its regulating performance and robustness against set point change. The results show that PID controller derived within the linear operating range performed better for all cases. During the operation, the PID controller will be activated once the controlled variable exceeds the threshold limit.
