The background is assumed to be compound Gaussian-distributed clutter with partially correlated clutter. Firstly, the definition of information entropy is introduced. Then, a new nonparametric detection strategy based on Renyi's quadratic entropy is proposed. Moreover, we present numerical results for the performance analysis of the newly proposed detector, which suggest that the entropy detector is robust and outperforms the conventional integrated detector.","PeriodicalId":199950,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Communications, Circuits and Systems (ICCCAS)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128507633","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

From then, more and more researches on memristor are conducted at various levels. Spintronic technology was introduced to the nonvolatile memory design regime in the recent decade. For example, spin-transfer torque random access memory (STT-RAM) has demonstrated many promising characteristics such as non-volatility, zero standby power, nanosecond access time, high memory density, and good scalability. In this paper, we will give a short tutorial of our works in STT-RAM from the viewpoints of device, design and system applications. On the top of that, we will also discuss one type of memsitors based on spintronic technology (spintronic memristor), including the device modeling and the applications in sensor.","PeriodicalId":199950,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Communications, Circuits and Systems (ICCCAS)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129120608","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By analyzing the equivalent impedance of the single-phase inverter, this paper proposed a virtual impedance design method in the dual close loop feedback control inverter. This method can improve the frequency response performance of the inverter impedance and the equivalent output impedance appears as pure resistance on a large scale. Therefore, the inverter parallel system adopted this control method can share the harmonic power symmetrically, and lead to better load-sharing performance. The parallel system model based on the control method is built, and the experiment platform is constructed. Finally, experimental results show the effectiveness and the engineering practicability of the method.","PeriodicalId":199950,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Communications, Circuits and Systems (ICCCAS)","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121501096","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To pinpoint the dominant one between the two major physical processes, we consider here the scattering of TE-polarized plane wave (with its electric field along the groove direction) by a 1D grating made of perfect metal, but with surface impedance on the side walls of the sub-wavelength slits. It is shown that a frequency-selective transmission can take place even at long wavelengths, and such a phenomenon can be related to the dispersion characteristic of the slit channel with surface-impedance walls where a surface-wave mode exists without cutoff frequency. By examining the phase angle of the surface-wave mode propagating in the slit channel, the frequency-selective transmission is verified to be mainly attributed to the Fabry-Perot resonance of the surface-wave mode.","PeriodicalId":199950,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Communications, Circuits and Systems (ICCCAS)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124313030","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a potential contender for the next-generation memory, the recently found “the missing fourth circuit element”, memristor, has drawn a great deal of research interests. In this paper, by starting from basic memristor device equations that assumes constant ion mobility, we develop a comprehensive set of properties and design equations for memristor based memories. Our analyses are specifically targeting key electrical memristor device characteristics relevant to, but not limited to, memory operations. However, like many nano devices, a small voltage drop across the memristor will yield an enormous electric field, which may produce significant highly nonlinear ionic transport that the linear drift assumption no longer holds for realistic memristors. Issues such as how to design circuits facing such nonlinear drift will be discussed. In addition, issues such as how to sense the memory states and perturbations during sensing will be addressed. In this paper, we demonstrate that we can successfully use the derived properties based on the linear drift model to design read and write circuits and analyze important data integrity and noise-tolerance issues for realistic nonlinear drift models.","PeriodicalId":199950,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Communications, Circuits and Systems (ICCCAS)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127740831","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Distribution centers location decision is one of the most critical factors in the entire logistics system, reasonable locations can effectively reduce the carbon emissions of logistics. This paper proposes a model of distribution centers location decision based on minimizing the carbon emissions of logistics. And then we use genetic algorithm (GA) to optimize the locations of distribution centers based on the model we proposed. The experiment shows that GA can quickly scan a vast solution set and it is more likely to converge toward a global minimum than local optimization techniques.","PeriodicalId":199950,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Communications, Circuits and Systems (ICCCAS)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126282884","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Pulse skip modulation is used for AVS converter for the first time. The controller of the buck converter includes a delayline, a slacktime detector, a finite-state machine (FSM) and a hybrid digital pulse width modulator (DPWM) which is used to produce a sequence of pulses whose duty cycle is alterable and frequency is fixed according to the input. Compared to AVS buck converter based on pulse width modulation (PWM), AVS buck converter based on IPSM is more efficient under light loads. Meanwhile, the structure of the controller of the proposed AVS buck converter is simple and can be realized by digital design methodology and process, which make the controller easy to be integrated into SoC. The converter is designed in 0.13 µM CMOS process, operating typically at 1.5 MHz. The simulation results show that the output voltage of the converter is adjusted ranged from 0.7 V to 1.5 V to the varied frequency ranged from 25 MHz to 100 MHz of the digital load circuit, which can save the power consumption effectively. The ripple of the output voltage of the buck converter is only 7–24 mV. The layout size of the controller is only 69 µm × 165 µm which is very small.","PeriodicalId":199950,"journal":{"name":"2010 International Conference on Communications, Circuits and Systems (ICCCAS)","volume":"150 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132310521","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
