Akinyemi","doi":"10.22178/pos.94-3","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.22178/pos.94-3","url":null,"abstract":". This study addressed the electoral violence perpetrated by particular National Union of Road Transport Workers members, also known as \"The Union\". The prevailing perception is that the entire group is associated with street urchins and thugs who unleash mayhem on the general public. The union comprises professionals such as park managers, taxi drivers, tricycle riders, bus riders, okada riders, and due collectors. The survey technique was adopted for data collection by administering 100 questionnaires to park managers and members across major parks in Ibadan, gathering their valuable insights. The research findings highlighted the importance of adult literacy to empower and dignify union members to shun the enticement of political thuggery and all other social vices. The study findings emphasised the impact of literacy to facilitate effective engagement in daily activities and foster a culture of respect, both within the union and in interactions with the larger society. The utilisation of traditional media, particularly radio, was also underscored in its findings. Finally, this research recommended the entrenchment of literacy as a government program for union members to be recognised as respectable members of society, similar to their counterparts in other sectors.","PeriodicalId":19980,"journal":{"name":"Path of Science","volume":"60 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83922193","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

{"title":"The Role of Nurse Education in Enhancing Knowledge and Skills of Diabetes Management in Patients","authors":"B. Bustami, Abdurrahman Abdurrahman, Amiruddin Amiruddin","doi":"10.22178/pos.94-9","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.22178/pos.94-9","url":null,"abstract":". Diabetes is a chronic condition that requires effective management to prevent complications and improve patients' quality of life. Nurse education plays a crucial role in enhancing patients' knowledge and skills for diabetes management. This systematic review aims to assess the role of nurse education in improving knowledge and skills related to diabetes management among patients. A systematic review was conducted following the PRISMA guidelines. Electronic databases, including PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science, were searched for relevant studies published between 2010 and 2022. The search strategy included keywords related to nurse education, diabetes management, knowledge, and skills. Studies that focused on the impact of nurse-led educational interventions on patients' knowledge and skills for diabetes management were included. Data extraction and quality assessment were performed for the selected studies. The initial search yielded a total of 527 articles. After screening and assessment, 13 studies were included in the review. The findings showed that nurse-led educational interventions significantly improved patients' knowledge about diabetes, including its causes, symptoms, and treatment options. The interventions also enhanced patients' skills for self-monitoring blood glucose, administering insulin, adhering to medication regimens, and making appropriate lifestyle modifications. The educational approaches included individual counselling, group sessions, multimedia tools, and self-management programs. The findings of this systematic review highlight the critical role of nurse education in improving patients' knowledge and skills for diabetes management. Nurse-led educational interventions have positively impacted patients' understanding of diabetes and their ability to manage the condition effectively. These interventions empower patients to participate actively in self-care and promote better health outcomes. Further research is needed to explore nurse-led educational interventions' long-term effects and sustainability in diabetes management.","PeriodicalId":19980,"journal":{"name":"Path of Science","volume":"52 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139353278","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Mysiuk","doi":"10.22178/pos.94-13","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.22178/pos.94-13","url":null,"abstract":". In this paper, a data storage data warehouse is designed to store collected data from social networks. Creating indexes with data and selecting a configuration with the appropriate number of shards and replicas is described – the primary states of the cluster and possibilities of its scaling. The features of working with the non-relational Elasticsearch database are described when working with data on user activity in social network posts. Among social networks, Facebook and Instagram were chosen for analysis. The paper describes the advantages and disadvantages of using such a data store compared to Apache Kafka. Analysed existing data insertion Application Program Interfaces (APIs) and data visualisation tools integrated with Elasticsearch. The study describes the use of the Bulk API to insert many records at once into a database. The designed data warehouse uses Kibana, a data visualisation and analytics tool integrated with the selected database. Also, it is shown the ability to insert and view logs using Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK stack). Tested data ingest by logging into the database using Beats. The obtained results can help implement a system for analysing user activities from social network data based on Elasticsearch as a central component.","PeriodicalId":19980,"journal":{"name":"Path of Science","volume":"25 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83836821","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

{"title":"Factors That Influence the Occurrence of Wasting in Toddlers","authors":"Myrna Lestari, H. Hafsah, Elvieta Elvieta, M. Akbari","doi":"10.22178/pos.94-2","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.22178/pos.94-2","url":null,"abstract":". The general objective of this study was to identify and analyze the factors that influence wasting in toddlers at the Health Center. The research design used in this study was quantitative and qualitative with a cross-sectional approach. These approaches are carried out to answer research questions that cannot be fully answered with just one approach. Based on the study's results, there was no relationship between family income and the incidence of wasting in toddlers, as indicated by the results of the chi-square test analysis, p = 0.230 > 0.05 with a prevalence rate of 1.296 (95% CI) with a 1.29 chance. The chi-square test obtained p = 0.230 > 0.05 with a prevalence rate of 1.296 (95% CI), meaning there is no relationship between family income and wasting in toddlers, but families with income < Rp. 2,246,725 has a 1.29 times chance of having underweight toddlers compared to families with income ≥ Rp. 2,246,725. Based on the results of the study, there was no relationship between mother's knowledge and the incidence of wasting in toddlers, as indicated by the results of the chi-square test analysis obtained a p-value of 0.001 <0.05 with a prevalence rate of 0.655 (95% CI) which means that there is a relationship between mother's knowledge and wasting in toddlers. Still, mothers with poor knowledge have a 0.655 times chance of having a thin baby compared to mothers with good knowledge.","PeriodicalId":19980,"journal":{"name":"Path of Science","volume":"589 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77223942","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Angwaomaodoko","doi":"10.22178/pos.94-1","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.22178/pos.94-1","url":null,"abstract":". UNESCO and many other international organisations have emphasised the role of inclusive education towards providing equal opportunity for the thriving of abled and disabled children. This study investigates the challenges and opportunities of inclusive education in Nigeria. The study adopts critical disability theory as its theoretical framework, with the social model of disability forming the framework's foundation. Teachers across 40 mainstream primary schools in Abeokuta, Ogun State, duly filled and submitted one hundred forty-seven questionnaires. At the same time, 18 parents of children with disabilities were also invited for interview. The study revealed that inclusive education in Nigeria is still in its early stages and is faced with several challenges, including a lack of understanding and awareness, inadequate resources and infrastructure, and a shortage of qualified teachers. Despite the challenges, there are several opportunities for developing inclusive education in Nigeria. The Nigerian Government has committed to promoting inclusive education by adopting policies that would favour inclusive education.","PeriodicalId":19980,"journal":{"name":"Path of Science","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79298925","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
