OD behavior can be influenced by various factors, both internal and external, including education, occupation, income, knowledge, attitudes, and physical environment. The purpose of this study is to determine the determinant factors that influence the behavior of open defecation. This research uses a cross-sectional approach located in Kedawang Village, Nguling Village, Kedawang Village, Pasuruan Regency. This research was conducted from December 2020 – May 2021. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with a total sample of 126 people who were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS statistics 20 software with a significance level of 0.05. The majority of respondents, namely 64 people or 50.8% of respondents have attitudes with fewer categories. On average, respondents have less perception of 83 people or 65.9%, lack of knowledge (99.2%), and less physical environment (114%). Meanwhile, the open defecation behavior carried out by the community was in the frequent category (56.3%). The results show that from several factors analyzed, the factors that influence open defecation behavior are attitude (sig 0.000) and perception (sig 0.000). Factors that influence open defecation behavior are attitudes and perceptions. Poor attitudes and perceptions will result in people doing open defecation behavior.","PeriodicalId":199429,"journal":{"name":"Media Keperawatan Indonesia","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130979610","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it is not yet known how the characteristics of these symptoms can be used as a protocol to prevent the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. This study aims to obtain an overview of the prevalence and characteristics of anosmia and ageusia in adult patients with COVID-19 in the community setting. Descriptive research with a retrospective approach was used to collect outpatients’ data at Puskesmas Kecamatan Cempaka Putih from May – June 2021. A total of 105 participants from 400 patients were selected using a simple random sampling with inclusion criteria were patients who confirmed positive for COVID-19 based on the results of the PCR Swab and had symptoms of anosmia and ageusia. Demographic data and general symptoms of COVID-19 were obtained from the Epidemiological Investigation of Suspected COVID-19 form from the Ministry of Health recorded in medical records, Data on prevalence and characteristics of anosmia and age were obtained through a questionnaire consisting of 12 questions made in google form format and distributed via WhatsApp to the participant. Descriptive analysis showed that from a total of 105 patients in the community with anosmia and ageusia, 103 patients (98.1%) reported anosmia, 50 patients (47.6%) had ageusia, and 48 patients (45.7%) experienced both symptoms. Patients experienced anosmia before being diagnosed with COVID-19 (62, 60.2%) and ageusia after being diagnosed with COVID-19 (28, 56.0%). The median duration of anosmia in days (IQR) was 7 (2) and ageusia was 5 (4). Anosmia and ageusia are symptoms experienced by an adult patient with COVID-19 in the community setting. These two symptoms need to be recognised as typical symptoms of COVID-19, added to the early detection of COVID-19, and included in the self-isolation protocol. Further research on the impact of anosmia and age on health and long-term decline in sensory function after COVID-19 needs to be done.","PeriodicalId":199429,"journal":{"name":"Media Keperawatan Indonesia","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131338101","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Age is an autonomous danger factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD) in adults, but this risk is exacerbated by additional factors, including comorbidities. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of cardiovascular disease and the association between comorbidities and cardiovascular disease among late adults in Indonesia. This cross-sectional research utilizes the data national population survey from the Indonesia Family Life Survey wave 5 (2015). Multistage stratified random sampling was utilized to choose the respondents to respond to a structured questionnaire interview, laboratory test, and anthropometric measurements. Multivariable logistic regression was utilized to determine the association. The result was respondents’ age mean was 48.31 (±5.83) years. CVD prevalence was 2.36% (95% CI: 2.07 – 2.70). The final model of a multivariable analysis using multiple logistic regression indicated that CKD (adj. OR = 3.04, 95%CI 1.76 – 5.24, p = <0.001), hyper cholesterol (adj. OR = 2.77, 95%CI 1.20 – 3.90, p = <0.001), stroke (adj. OR = 2.66, 95%CI 1.36 – 5.24, p = 0.004), having hypertension (adj. OR = 1.83, 95% 1.35 – 2.49, p = <0.001), high blood sugar (adj. OR = 1.82, 95%CI 1.17 – 2.86, p = 0.008), were significantly associated with CVD among late adults. Other significant covariate was age (adj. OR = 1.04, 95%CI 1.01 – 1.06, p = 0.003) and sex (adj. OR = 1.43, 95%CI 1.07 – 1.92, p = 0.015). The survey results found that respondents know moist wound care 66.7%, rarely use the moist method of 53.4%, and use conventional techniques of 73.3%, therefore it takes knowledge, attitude, and a lot of experience to be able to achieve maximum wound care. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes with the actions of nurses on wound care using the moist wound healing method at RSUP H. Adam Malik Medan in 2021. The study was an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional design. The total population in the study was the same as the total sample size of 62 respondents who were obtained using the total sampling technique in-room RB 2B, RB 3, and the Burn Unit. The results showed that good knowledge was 66.1%, a positive attitude was 82.3%, and taking action according to the SOP was 83.9%. Based on the Fisher exact test, it was obtained a p-value for knowledge, and attitudes of 0.001 (p <0.05), which means that there is a relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and actions of nurses regarding wound care using moist wound healing method. It is hoped that the nurses can increase their knowledge and experience to create a positive attitude in carrying out wound care using the moist wound healing method to accelerate the healing of patients.","PeriodicalId":199429,"journal":{"name":"Media Keperawatan Indonesia","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117266958","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
