Various factors are associated with non-adherence to dietary and fluid restriction in chronic kidney disease patients undergoing hemodialysis including patient characteristics such as age, gender, education, occupation, length of time undergoing hemodialysis, self-efficacy, motivation and social support. This study aims to analyze the most dominant factors associated with dietary compliance and fluid restriction in chronic kidney disease patients undergoing hemodialysis. This study used a descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study were patients with chronic kidney disease who underwent hemodialysis as many as 80 respondents. Collecting data using the respondent characteristic questionnaire, General Self-Efficacy Scale, Treatment of Motivation Questionnaire, Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support dan Dialysis Diet and Fluid Nonadherence Questionnaire. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The result of the correlation analysis showed that there was no relationship between gender, education and occupation with dietary compliance and fluid restriction (p > .005). Factors related to dietary compliance and fluid restriction were age, length of hemodialysis, self-efficacy, motivation and social support (p < .005). multivariate analysis using multiple linear regression tests showed that the most dominant factor associated with dietary compliance and fluid restriction was self-efficacy (R2 = .504, p = .000). Thus, it is important to periodically assess the patient's self-efficacy and plan actions to increase self-efficacy so that adherence to diet and fluid restriction can also be improved.","PeriodicalId":199429,"journal":{"name":"Media Keperawatan Indonesia","volume":"98 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114889698","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Treatments to reduce pruritus can use emollient oil or baby oil that can keep the skin moist. This implementation aims to determine the effectiveness of baby oil in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients with uremic pruritus. This implementation is based on the results of previous research using experimental, pretest and posttest design. The population was CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis (HD) with uremic pruritus. This sample determination is based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria that have been built and the sample size was 22 HD patiens. Results showed that pruritus score was decreased up to 2,72. It shows the effectiveness of baby oil on uremic pruritus in CKD patients undergoing HD treatment.","PeriodicalId":199429,"journal":{"name":"Media Keperawatan Indonesia","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121497471","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are many biological, psychological, and social changes that can cause conflict problems between themselves and the surrounding environment. This causes the emergence of victims of bullying which causes anxiety in the teenager. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of expressive writing therapy in reducing anxiety levels in adolescent victims of bullying. The research method used quasi-experimental research with a pre-test and post-test control group design approach. The sampling technique with a total sampling of 44 respondents and divided into 2, namely the experimental group and the control group. The results of the study using the Paired Sample T-test showed that p = 0.000 (p <0.05) means that expressive writing therapy is effective in reducing anxiety levels in adolescent victims of bullying. This can be seen from the decrease in anxiety scores in adolescent victims of bullying from 50.0% to 41.0% severe anxiety, which is mild anxiety after expressive writing therapy intervention. Therefore, it is suggested that expressive writing therapy can be used as one of the ways to overcome the anxiety of teenagers who are victims of bullying both on campus and at home.","PeriodicalId":199429,"journal":{"name":"Media Keperawatan Indonesia","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121189263","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of the study was to analyze the effect of lavender aromatherapy and acupressure interventions on reducing the pain scale in postoperative sectio caesarea patients. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test with a control group design with a total sample of 16 respondents in each group taken by random sampling system. The group was given lavender aromatherapy intervention and acupressure, while the control group was only given lavender aromatherapy. The results of the research from the t-test showed that the administration of aromatherapy and acupressure had an effect on reducing the pain scale of postoperative sectio caesarea patients with a p-value = 0.000 and a decrease in the mean pain scale from 4.44 (pre-test) to 2.50 (post-test). This shows that aromatherapy and acupressure as complementary therapies can be used as non-pharmacological therapies as supporting treatment and alternative self-care to assist in overcoming pain problems in postoperative sectio caesarea patients. This study shows that lavender aromatherapy and acupressure effectively reduce pain scales in postoperative sectio caesarea patients.","PeriodicalId":199429,"journal":{"name":"Media Keperawatan Indonesia","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121263344","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the post-stroke complications is Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), DVT can lead to pulmonary embolism (PE), and Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is manifested as DVT and PE. Stroke patients are at increased risk of developing DVT. This review aims to assess the clinical efficacy of mechanical prophylaxis for preventing venous thromboembolism in stroke patients. The articles were searched through PubMed, ScienceDirect, Sage Journals and ProQuest database. Keywords: \"Stroke\", \"Prevention\", \"Deep Vein Thrombosis\", “Venous Thromboembolism”, “Intermittent Pneumatic Compression”, and “Stocking Compression” combined using the Boolean operators AND or OR. The articles were full text, written in English, published in the last 10 years, and provided information about mechanical prophylaxis for preventing VTE in stroke patients. This review provides important information on VTE prevention in stroke patients. The use of IPC significantly reduces the risk of DVT and the addition of IPC in pharmacological prophylaxis provides moderate benefits in VTE, whereas the use of graduated compression stocking is less clinically significant in the prevention of VTE. The use of IPC is an effective method to reduce the risk of VTE in post-stroke immobilized patients, with fewer skin side effects compared to stocking compression.","PeriodicalId":199429,"journal":{"name":"Media Keperawatan Indonesia","volume":"89 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126925769","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, religiosity is needed to establish more prosperous psychological well-being. The research aimed to analyze the correlation between religiosity and illness perception in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The study design was a cross-sectional approach. A total of 138 respondents were recruited using consecutive sampling. Data were collected using the Indonesian version of the Centrality Religiosity Scale 15 (CRS-15) and The Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire (B-IPQ) and analyzed using Spearman’s rho with a significant level of 0.05. The results showed that the average value of religiosity was 52.01. The median illness perception was 34.00. Based on statistical values, there was no significant correlation between religiosity and illness perception in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients (p=0,225 and r=-0,104). The absence of the correlation may be due to the assessment of the illness perception that is more directed at the patient's intellectual than the patient's emotional problem. In addition, other factors such as the availability of information and psychological distress can also affect the illness perception. This study indicates the need for further research on other factors related to the perception of disease in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients.","PeriodicalId":199429,"journal":{"name":"Media Keperawatan Indonesia","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123664412","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
