Hyperfine and quadrupole coupling parameters obtained from computer simulation are discussed in terms of electronic structure of nitrogen, spin population, and vanadium-nitrogen bond distance. Nishide","doi":"10.5111/BUNKOU.43.280","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.5111/BUNKOU.43.280","url":null,"abstract":"Electron spin transient nutation method based on pulsed EPR spectroscopy was for the first time exploited for the identification of effective molecular spin multiplicities of a quasi one-dimensional organic high-spin polymer, showing the effective molecular high, spins with the spin quantum number S>2 featured in the nutation spectra of the polymer. It was concluded that the polymer was characterized as the mixture of molecular high-spin assemblages, supporting that the results from the susceptibility measurements of the same polymer suggested the existence of high-spin assemblages with an average S=2. The pulsed EPR nutation spectroscopy was also applied to high-spin systems of Mn2+(S=5/2) and Cr3+(S=3/2) in MgO powder, demonstrating the inherent advantages of the nutation spectroscopy. Particularly, the nutation method showed that Cr3+ in MgO is located in lower symmetric environments distorted from octahedral symmetry. Elliptically polarized light was tuned to the rotational lines of this band. The polarization state of light after passing through the air was analyzed with an angle-offset birefringent prism. The laser induced reflectivity change of phase-conjugated signal was interpreted in terms of growth of radii of nanoparticles monitored by very-lowfrequency Raman bands. Essentially, the reflectivity of phase-conjugated signal from CdSxSe1-x nanoparticle doped glass was decreased by the laser induced crystal growth. Temporarily enhanced reflectivity was shortly commented. The complex in the E2Σ+ state has been studied by using the resonance enhanced multiphoton ionization technique with a time-of-flight mass spectrometer. Two sort of excitations spectra have been measured; one is the E2Σ+-X2II excitation spectrum and the other is the E2Σ+ - A2Σ+ excitation spectrum. The 0-0 band of the complex is red-shifted by 496.8 cm-1- from that of bare NO. The binding energy of NO (E2Σ+)-Ar is determined to be 585 cm-1 and the progression due to the stretching van der Waals mode measured is extremely complex. Clear peaks were observed in a sample after laser irradiation which is sharp contrast to that of only heat treated system where peaks were hidden in strong fluorescence.
