Here, we review a variety of reported articles for (1) high-resolution solution NMR, (2) high-resolution Magic Angle Spinning (hr-MAS) and (3) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in the intact biological systems. Furthermore, our preliminary investigations of these experiments for both non-labeled and uniformly 15N-labeled rice seeds are described. In addition to this, future perspectives of methodological advances of both NMR software and NMR hardware for the in vivo NMR studies are discussed.","PeriodicalId":199016,"journal":{"name":"Journal of the Spectroscopical Society of Japan","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133238402","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We have observed four ortho lines (JKaKc=212-101, 312-303, 321-312, and 330-321) and four para lines (J KaKc=202-111, 211-202, 220-211, and 322-313) of c-C3H2 in six cores in TMC-1. A statistical equilibrium analysis of the oserved intensities revealed clear correlation between the ortho-to-para ratio of c-C3H2 and chemical evolution of the molecular cloud; the ortho-to-para ratio in younger cores is less than 2, while that in older cores is close to the statistical ratio of 3. A simple chemical model calculation indicates that the correlation is ascribed to the conservation of nuclear spin angular moment in chemical reactions relevant to the production, destruction, and re-production of c-C3H2.","PeriodicalId":199016,"journal":{"name":"Journal of the Spectroscopical Society of Japan","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-08-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126593111","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Characteristics in the FFT power spectra were different between the inner and outer cases due to a difference in mixing condition of the fuel gas and air between the inner and outer flame regions. Correlation profiles between average value and standard deviation of the consecutively measured OH-PLIF intensity showed that combustion reaction activity was not always a prevailing driving force for the fluctuation. This characteristic was independent of the difference in mixing condition of the fuel gas and air between the inner and outer flame regions. The charge-induced current measurement has been conducted by placing a partially transmitted nickel mesh in front of the sample surface at a certain distance. Also by using the rainbow interferometric technique, the density jump in the secondary plasma could be clearly observed. The relationship analysis on the secondary plasma emission intensity, the charge-induced current and the average velocity of the shock front as a function of laser irradiation focusing condition revealed clearly the role of the shock wave in the excitation mechanisms of the secondary plasma, proving the electron collision and the electronion recombination are not major processes.","PeriodicalId":199016,"journal":{"name":"Journal of the Spectroscopical Society of Japan","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124103175","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The infrared-active phonon frequencies, linewidths and the dielectric constants are obtained by oscillator fitting procedure of the reflective data measured at room temperature. The phonon dispersion curves of NdGaO3 are calculated using a shell model. The B2u mode at 174 cm-1 involves mixedvibrations of the Nd atoms and the GaO6 octahedra, and the higher frequency mode do not involve motion of Nd atoms above 300 cm-1. The linewidth of B2u mode has been analyzed at 174 cm-1, 356 cm-1 and 595 cm-1 using the lattice dynamical perturbative treatment within the cubic anharmonic term in the expansion series ofthe crystal potential energy, and the calculated results reproduces the observedones at room temperature. A Q-switched Nd: YAG laser (90mJ, 10ns) was focused on rock samples in an argon atmosphere at reduced pressure, and the emission spectra from laser-induced plasma were measured using time-resolved spectroscopy. The experimental results showed that the maximum spectral line intensity was obtained in argon at approximately 200 Torr, whereas the spectral line-to-background ratio were maximized at around 60 Torr, by observing the laser plasma with a time delay of 0.4μs. Furthermore, the results of time-resolved spectroscopy of the plasma produced in argon at 200 Torr and 60 Torr indicated that time-resolved measurement of a spectrum in the initial stage of plasma generation (-1μs) at a pressure of 60 Torr was effective for improving the slope of the calibration curve. Based on the results, standard rock samples were analyzed for aluminum, magnesium, calcium, titanium and iron, and linear calibration curves with a slope of unity were obtained by measuring spectra with a gate width of 0.6μs at a delay time of 0.4μs after the laser pulse in argon at 60 Torr.","PeriodicalId":199016,"journal":{"name":"Journal of the Spectroscopical Society of Japan","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2004-08-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125276981","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
