The aim of this scoping review is to scope the published literature on political advocacy training programs offered to students in three healthcare provider disciplines (i.e., medical, nursing, and pharmacy). A final set of 41 articles are included. In the published literature, political advocacy training was more common in student nursing and medical programs than in pharmacy programs. Few interprofessional health advocacy student training programs were found, and most of these focused-on teaching advocacy from an academic medical-legal standpoint. [1] The intensity of and the training received in each program varied significantly.","PeriodicalId":194277,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Hospital and Healthcare Administration","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130308685","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study evaluated the impact of two major health policy implementations on costs and outcome of hospital care for patients with diabetes. Methods: The 2015-2018 hospital discharge data for diabetes in China were analyzed. The five dependent variables included total charges per discharge, length of stay, daily charges, the percentage of drug charges as the total charges, and the percentage of medical service fee as the total charges; The main independent variables was the implementation of the merge of two health insurance programs and the zero mark-up drug pricing policy. Generalized linear regression and generalized logistic regression were applied with covariates being used included patient age, sex, and occupation, as well as the year. Findings: After the policy implementation, decreases occurred in the length of the hospital stay (-1.35 days), total charges per discharge (-540.8 yuan), daily charges (-43.3 yuan), and the percentage of drug charges (-7.85%).The percentage of medical service fees, as desired, increased by 1.47%. Conclusion: The health policy implementations show certain promising effects on hospital care for diabetes at tertiary hospitals in regard to cost, hospital revenue structure, and clinical outcomes. Nevertheless, caution is warranted to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of the entire healthcare delivery system consisting of the three-tier hospitals. Healthcare systems around the world have been put under immense pressure and obliged to evolve in order not only to handle the abrupt and extreme rise in COVID-19 infections but also to continue to treat other patients while minimizing the risk of infection and outbreaks. The diagnosis and management of cancer has similarly been impacted. As the pandemic continued, oncological departments and centers adapted new regulations and oncological societies attempted to publish recommendations and guidelines to ensure optimal management while also accommodating for the ongoing pandemic. In this article, we investigate the measures that should be taken by cancer patients in general and attempt to construct guidelines for how oncology departments should be organized and operated during the pandemic.","PeriodicalId":194277,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Hospital and Healthcare Administration","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115283874","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
