Due to the bidirectional current capability of the switch, the discontinuous conduction mode does not occur, leading to a simple analytic description of the switching converter. The small-signal model is derived in the form of both control-to-output and input-to-output transfer functions using the state-space averaging method. As a result, fourth-order and nonminimum-phase characteristics are obtained.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":193917,"journal":{"name":"[1991 Proceedings] 6th Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1991-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121833667","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The results indicate that, with coding, the loss in performance of BSC as compared to that of QSC, remains within 20% of the uncoded case as far as the error probability performance is concerned. Therefore, taking bandwidth considerations into account, the performance of the BSC becomes superior to that of QSC, where in the latter case bandwidth requirements asymptotically grow to infinity with increasing q.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":193917,"journal":{"name":"[1991 Proceedings] 6th Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1991-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121794941","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The nonzero set-point LQG controller is designed under the assumption that the system to be controlled is modeled without error and that any system disturbances are white random processes. However, the basic LQG regulator may be inadequate when these conditions are violated. Control system performance then may be improved by adding new states to the closed-loop system (i.e., by providing dynamic compensation). The nonzero set-point LQG controller can be combined with the continuous-time identification procedure in adaptive control schemes. Simulation results illustrate the proposed controller design procedure.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":193917,"journal":{"name":"[1991 Proceedings] 6th Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference","volume":"482 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1991-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116527723","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As far as is known this is the first time these isolators were made using a thick film of Ba-hexaferrite and mounted in the E-plane of a metal wave guide housing. The preparation of a thick film of ferrimagnetic paste using Ba-hexaferrite powder containing 5 wt.% glass is described. A low-cost, simple screen-printed process for deposition of hexaferrite films on an Al/sub 2/O/sub 3/ substrate was used. The transmission properties of these isolators were measured. The frequency ranges were determined where the isolation was more than 20 dB. The experimental results show that it is possible to make these devices without using an external magnet because hexaferrites can simulate the effect of a large external bias field.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":193917,"journal":{"name":"[1991 Proceedings] 6th Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1991-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134488886","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
