The source, multiple relays and destination nodes are equipped with single antenna transceiver while the transmission channels are assumed to be mutually independent. A time-division channel allocation scheme is occupied in order to realize orthogonal channelization, therefore no interrelay interference is considered in the system model. The compact derivation form of the end-to-end signal to noise ratio (SNR) probability density function (pdf) is analyzed. We also derived the symbol error rate (SER) of M-ary phase shift keying (MPSK) and outage probability under slow flat Rayleigh fading. In this work, we study the probability of SNR gain of multi-hop DF system over the single-hop system. The numerical results show that decreasing the threshold SNR and increasing the number of hops (N) yields lower the outage probability of the system. It is obvious that the performance of the multi-hop system with the improvement of the average BER is proportional to the number of hop. Finally, probability of SNR gain can be achieved by increasing number of hops.","PeriodicalId":193599,"journal":{"name":"2011 Second International Conference on Intelligent Systems, Modelling and Simulation","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-01-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123062307","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The problem of illiteracy is universal affecting about 16% of the human race. Only technological tools can accelerate the process of meeting the millennium goals as the paradigms of learning and teaching are changing. ASHAN - a computer with a touch screen and special S/W - can enhance the learning of the scripts of any language. The screen monitor may be divided into two or three logical windows. One window will render the script that is pressed on the keyboard to show how the script is formed while a recorded voice would pronounce that script. On the second window the learner draws or writes the alphabet using the index finger looking at the second window, and pronounces it. A prototype is ready for Devanagari script that is used for several Indian languages including Hindi.","PeriodicalId":193599,"journal":{"name":"2011 Second International Conference on Intelligent Systems, Modelling and Simulation","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-01-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121065384","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The basic step involves an eight-class Hamming network which has nine inputs corresponding to each cell of the grid and eight outputs respectively. The algorithm computes the Hamming Distance of the current input configuration as compared to the weight matrix and the maximum of the output corresponds to the minimum distance. The iterative step is carried out to anticipate the next move for every possible current move. The hamming distance of all the iterations is added to basic step and the gross maximum gives the most profitable move. The algorithm proceeds such that the neural network prefers to itself win rather than preventing the opponent from winning in least possible moves.","PeriodicalId":193599,"journal":{"name":"2011 Second International Conference on Intelligent Systems, Modelling and Simulation","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-01-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115792293","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The channel organization is model based on time division multiple access (TDMA) mode. Signal processing at relay terminals is operating in the amplify-and-forward (AF) approach under slow flat Rayleigh fading channel. Signal selection is based on the maximum gain of the source-relay link. Using the moment generating function (MGF) technique, the total signal to noise ratio (SNR) over the source-relay link and the average BER with binary phase shift keying (BPSK) are derived. Our formulation is applicable to cooperative links with any number of relay paths. We observe that the more SNR of both SR and RD links, the better bit error rate performance.","PeriodicalId":193599,"journal":{"name":"2011 Second International Conference on Intelligent Systems, Modelling and Simulation","volume":"135 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-01-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121343368","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These vowels are added to the basic consonants with three simple diacritics using the utterances of every dental consonant concerned by Malaysian children. The dental consonants refer to the consonants utter using dental medium. It is called the place of articulation at labiodentals, dental and interdental. The formant frequencies produced for each place of articulation are study based on their spectrogram. The visualization of the spectrogram makes the formants easily being identified by normal human being’s vision. The formants (F1, F2 and F3) are averaged and the results show the different increment and decrement compare to utterances of single phoneme. F1 is decreased for all observed consonants. Meanwhile F2 and F3 changes according to its manner of articulation, where in this study the tabulation are plosive and fricative.","PeriodicalId":193599,"journal":{"name":"2011 Second International Conference on Intelligent Systems, Modelling and Simulation","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-01-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131169056","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The input data is collected from a total of 10 people which consists of male and female with different working background. The parameters used as input for this fuzzy expert system were age, Body Mass Index (BMI), blood pressure and heart rate. Hypertension is diagnosed if blood pressure is over than 140/90mmHg. Hypertension is called the silent killer because it has no symptoms and can cause serious disease if left untreated for a long time. Thus, an intelligent and accurate diagnostic system is needed in order to threat the hypertension patient. It is expected that our proposed Fuzzy Expert System can provide a faster, cheaper and more accurate result compared with other traditional methods.","PeriodicalId":193599,"journal":{"name":"2011 Second International Conference on Intelligent Systems, Modelling and Simulation","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-01-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124417768","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
