There are two fundamental ideas which substantiate this invention: 1) enhancement of the efficiency of separate system elements, improvement of system algorithms, as a result more rational use of Earth resources and energy sources; 2) improvement of the environment for human habitation. Majority part of these studies consider term \"smart\" as the ability of the system to provide the necessary amount of the light in accordance with the existing norms, lighting standards when it is necessary and where it is necessary. In other words, the system is considered \"smart\" from point of view of the main end users: drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, in the same time forgetting about system service staff: installation technicians and system administrators. This paper endorse studies of smart lighting systems in this extended meaning: considering system \"smart\" for all the system users. Particular attention is given to the thermal dynamics and system robustness evaluation of the GaN based inverter, dynamically coupled to a DC source. Measurements were carried out along with analysis of dips and swells and the results are presented in this paper. The origin of voltage dips and swells is discussed, also magnitude, duration and density of dips is analysed. The responsibility of voltage dips and swells is an issue not clear yet. By adding a special power electronic interface (PEI) to the point of common coupling, the conventional NZEB could be transformed into a hybrid nanogrid with a wider variety of functions, incl. off-grid operation and bidirectional energy flow control. However, most of the sources in the NZEB are grid followers and require a single grid-forming unit. Thus, typical decentralized control methods (e.g. droop control, virtual generator) cannot be implemented in such systems. This paper analyzes the bidirectional operation of the grid-forming inverter for the NZEB. The main focus is on the light or no load operation that corresponds to a mode when the PEI is naturally unable to control the voltage inside the building. Four control methods are proposed, analyzed and compared. In the present paper, we offer three prediction approaches: the naive method (NM), Fourier transformation (FT) with imposition of white noise and the artificial neural network (ANN) model. Our research proves the possibility of using any of three approaches due to the high forecasting accuracy of all of them.
