In such a way, the requirement of a credible party is eliminated, and a decentralized trust entity is created digitally. Through the use of electronic contracts, the relationships previously specified in documents and moderated by human beings can now be transformed into code and inserted into the blockchain, from the use of only driven-computer environments. This article presents a blockchain platform for innovation in the academic management, implementing a model composed of smart contracts to replace basic activities such as enrollment, school history and medical certifications verification, from a control of quality and safety previously unimaginable.","PeriodicalId":191471,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE World Conference on Engineering Education (EDUNINE)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127082817","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This system is proposed after a bibliographic revision, intending that this could be run by relatives or therapists in charge of the child’s treatment. This system has three stages: The first one in which the generator takes part with a mobile device controlling the therapy; the second part where the child intervenes; and the third one in which he receives feedback according to his results. The child will receive audiovisual stimulation, and would have to use his touch. Therefore, he would concentrate all his senses, and also he will have to move in order to fulfill the objective, at the same time that he will be working, depending on the level of learning, with topics like letters, numbers, colors, figures, animals, flags, among others.","PeriodicalId":191471,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE World Conference on Engineering Education (EDUNINE)","volume":"98 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127239497","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This course belongs to the eighth semester of the Mechatronic Engineering Degree, at the Ricardo Palma University, Lima, Peru. Then, with the experience in the dictation of this course for 8 consecutive years, a didactic manual was developed using the Matlab software and the Image Processing Toolbox, with the objective of imparting topics of basic spatial processing, improvement, smoothing, morphological and geometric transformations, and edge detection, depending on the content of the syllable. In this way, the students used the manual as a support to develop simulations such as: pattern recognition, improvement of medical images, etc. Then, with the averages of the evaluations of the laboratory tasks, the performance of the students was represented with a trend graph whose slope was 0.3391.","PeriodicalId":191471,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE World Conference on Engineering Education (EDUNINE)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130653359","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In that sense we still find teachers whose traditional methodologies do not adapt to the new paradigms of the teaching-learning process, technological changes and the profile of the new students. This problem has increased more in Latin American countries. The execution of courses following these traditional methodologies within a specific period of time is not usually a good practice. This study shows the results of the use of the agile methodologies applied in the re-design of the classes of a group of students of the course of Networks and Data Communications of the program of Electronic Engineering from the University of Sciences and Humanities. ACM and IEEE-CS efforts to offer a global classification of computing curricula programs recommending subjects based on a competency-based curricula design. Latin America (LA) is an active region in computing education. However, it is difficult to understand how LA computing programs relate to the CC2020 competency-based approach. This panel seeks to provide the current landscape of undergraduate LA computing curricula in comparison to the CC2020. The intention is to highlight differences and commonalities in nomenclature, types of computing programs, curricula management, and accreditation. The panel will raise the discussion concerning the challenges for computing programs in the LA region surrounding curricula transformation towards a better understanding of programs at international level. Audience involvement and panelist interactions promise to generate a shared understanding of undergraduate computing programs in LA and their global perspective.","PeriodicalId":191471,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE World Conference on Engineering Education (EDUNINE)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126363130","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study was positioned in the interpretive paradigm with qualitative research design. Semi-structured interview with 13 open-ended questions was selected as the means of data. Atlas.ti. were used to analysed and coded all the interviews. To provide a well-structured approach to handling a large data set, thematic analysis was employed to analyse the verbatim transcription as outlined by Braun and Clarke. Contrary to the assumption that young learners are seen as highly adept technology users, the findings show that social networks (Facebook and Instagram) and WhatsApp are the most important applications for the participants.","PeriodicalId":191471,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE World Conference on Engineering Education (EDUNINE)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121076044","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The participants were 20 students’ parents of the second and fourth grade of elementary education of an educational institution private of Lima-Peru. For the study there was prepared a Perception of Parents’ Instruction Level Scale that it demonstrated suitable reliability levels ($alpha =$.77 to “My instruction’s level sub scale and $alpha =$.86 to “My instruction’s level and support request). One concludes that the parents’ instruction level to support for themselves their children had a significant relation with the academic performance in the mathematics ($r =-.46, (mathrm{p}lt).05$), but does not related with communication, science and technology, and social personnel. Finally, boxplots analysis shows that the mothers at low instruction level (central cases) are those who look for external support and/or trust in its knowledge to educate their children.","PeriodicalId":191471,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE World Conference on Engineering Education (EDUNINE)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125306096","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, sometimes these applications are not meticulously designed, translating into a reduction in the student motivation. The Transparent Assignments framework, introduced by the Transparency in Learning and Teaching (TILT) project, provides a tool that can be used for implementing applications in mathematics courses. Studies suggest that assignments designed more transparently, might increase students’ engagement and academic confidence. In this paper, we present the redesign of a group of classroom activities which we called Mini Application Projects (MAP). Such projects were redesigned using the resources provided by the TILT project. We also measured the transparency before and after the redesign using the Palmer’s Rubric. Finally, we include anecdotal evidence of how the link between engineering and calculus was reinforced.","PeriodicalId":191471,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE World Conference on Engineering Education (EDUNINE)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115689010","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
