Besides the obvious consideration that they can not be changed during flight operations, fuse blowing can generate high inductive spikes in the satellite power bus and therefore endanger the operations of other subsystems or units. Active overload protections are therefore the preferred choice in space application. This paper describes a very fast Latching Current Limiter (LCL) that can be placed at power input of any satellite subsystem, providing overload protections without generating dangerous voltage transients. A detailed theoretical analysis of a discrete LCL, followed by experimental characterization on an Elegant Breadboard, will be presented in the paper. A potential Hybrid implementation will lead to a light, flexible, simple and easy to use device.","PeriodicalId":191423,"journal":{"name":"EUROCON 2007 - The International Conference on \"Computer as a Tool\"","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127256599","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This displacement is considered as an artifact. In our study, both EEG and EOG signals were recorded simultaneously and the artifacts were eliminated in real time using a variable step size adaptive algorithm (VSSLMS). The efficiency of the technique used is established by comparing EEG before and after filtering using cross-correlation function. The method is simple to implement in real time.","PeriodicalId":191423,"journal":{"name":"EUROCON 2007 - The International Conference on \"Computer as a Tool\"","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124867827","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its global hybrid dynamics may roughly be captured into a hybrid automaton to be controlled by means of a two level hierarchical control structure. The low level continuous controllers perform optimization tasks, specific to different operating regimes. A supervisor placed on an upper level must guarantee the safe transition from an operating regime to another, triggered by some discrete events. The supervisor is designed according to the supervisory control framework, its operation in the partial load region being validated by numerical simulations.","PeriodicalId":191423,"journal":{"name":"EUROCON 2007 - The International Conference on \"Computer as a Tool\"","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125337489","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The second-order effects that affect the MOS transistor operation will be also taking into account, the proposed linearization method compensating also the linearity degradation imposed by these effects. In order to minimize the silicon area, an original method based on an optimal implementation of the current-controlled voltage generator will be presented. Additionally, the replacing of classical MOS transistors by FGMOS (Floating Gate MOS) active devices will further reduce the circuit complexity, and, thus, the area occupied on silicon, having the result of about two order of magnitude reducing area with respect to a classical resistor. The circuit estimated linearity error is under 1% for an extended input range of plusmn500 mV and for a small value of the supply voltage, VCC = plusmn3 V. The proposed active resistor is designed for low-voltage low-power applications and it is implemented in 0.35 mum CMOS technology, the SPICE simulations confirming the theoretical estimated results.","PeriodicalId":191423,"journal":{"name":"EUROCON 2007 - The International Conference on \"Computer as a Tool\"","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125409622","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many similar application exist that have their advantages and drawbacks. This paper presents a platform that enhances the idea of user generated content by introducing the peer-to-peer approach as an alternative means of distribution. Besides the centralised and peer-to-peer distribution of multimedia content the platform offers a wide range of additional services like chat, content moderation and presence. The platform is based on open standards, like MPEG21, JXTA, XMPP and TV-Anytime CRID and is a perfect example of interoperability. It also supports DRM solutions although they are not implemented yet. The platform was developed as a new channel for the distribution of information about major events and as an attractor for potential visitors of major events.","PeriodicalId":191423,"journal":{"name":"EUROCON 2007 - The International Conference on \"Computer as a Tool\"","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115558047","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This application is designed for tests of different types of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN). In particular the simulator concentrates on routing protocols simulation including energy consumption model which is needed in development of ad-hoc networks. Ad-hoc networks consist of mobile nodes, which organize themselves dynamically without any centralized administration. Nodes in ad-hoc network can route packets extenting range of data transmission, therefore routing protocol is needed. WSN applications will likely use ad-hoc model as it is very suitable in measurement and control systems. Effective protocols, especially in energy conserving manner, must be developed to be used in those applications. Described simulator is designed to stand as a useful tool for such studies.","PeriodicalId":191423,"journal":{"name":"EUROCON 2007 - The International Conference on \"Computer as a Tool\"","volume":"185 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-12-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116519254","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
