This tribe has a type of chants called lendawi that is chanted for a number of occasions. Ethnographic method was used to find the functions of the lendawi ; for analysis of the metaphors, Halley’s semantic field hierarchy was used. The study found that lendawi may be carried out anywhere anytime depending on certain functions. Seven functions were found: (1) for lamenting a dead person, (2) for thanking people contributing something in an event, (3) for remembering a family member who is already dead or in a foreign land, (4) for releasing a newly wed girl to follow her husband or a family member to go to a foreign land, (5) when meeting a person who resembles a family member already dead or far away, (6) when visiting a sick relative or friend, (7) for welcoming a relative or family member from overseas. The semantic field shown in the metaphorical expressions were found to be at the levels of (a) being e.g. sadness like in the landawi for the dead; (b) substance like clouds for eternity and rain for tears , (c) terrestrial like mountains and rivers, in the mention of mount Tari, and Donggi and Konda rivers, (d) living like weeds or grass in the mention of gardens, (e) animate like birds in the mention of the birds kimagi , welem , uluwe , prikokir , piage . The semantic field is more around the surrounding area or some other places but still in Papua as found in the metaphors.","PeriodicalId":190968,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the First International Seminar Social Science, Humanities and Education, ISSHE 2020, 25 November 2020, Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-04-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128795527","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research is conducted in seven districts. Respondents are determined by Simple Random Sampling. 10 respondents will be randomly selected in each district, so that the total number of respondents in this study is 70 people. Honey bee livestocks and Bali cattle business will be analyzed using investment feasibility analysis, namely Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Net Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR) and Pay Back Period (PBP). The results of the feasibility analysis of the business of Honeybees and Balinese cows show that the calculation of Net Present Value (NPV) obtained a positive NPV value at a discount rate of 56% of Rp. 106,378,-. For investment assessment using IRR criteria shows the number of IRR where NPV equals zero is 56.12%. Then for the investment criteria BCR shows the value of BCR = 1,002. Furthermore, based on pbp assessment criteria the acceptance rate can cover the overall cost of investment for 3 Years and 6 Months. Based on the overall results of the investment criteria assessment, it can be concluded that the business of honeybeeper and Bali cattle based on forest areas in Konawe Islands Regency is worth implementing.","PeriodicalId":190968,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the First International Seminar Social Science, Humanities and Education, ISSHE 2020, 25 November 2020, Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127298362","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thirty-one fourth semester students of English Literature study program in the Cultural Science Faculty, Halu Oleo University who took Creative Writing subject in the academic year 2015/2016 participated in the research. Data were obtained from students’ results of preand post-test, as well as pre-post in-depth interview which was conducted to find out students’ perception towards the use of web blogs in their learning. The research analyzed both quantitative data. Two research questions were posed: (1) Is there any significant effect of utilizing web blog on the students’ competence in writing? (2) How do students’ perceptions of using web blog influence their experiences in their English writing? The researcher runs a paired sample t-test with 2 tailed t-test using the SPSS 16 to test proposed hypothesis. To reveal students’ perception, descriptive data were transformed into words. Analysis of the data obtained resulted in the followings: pre-test score (M=76.38; SD = 8.77), post-test score (M=86.29; SD=7.78), Df= 30, t-tabel = 1,697 and ttest = 10.686. These results indicated a significant different on students’ writing competence before and after treatment. It can therefore be concluded that utilizing web blog as media for teaching writing is effective not only in improving student’s writing competence, but also in creating positive learning environment.","PeriodicalId":190968,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the First International Seminar Social Science, Humanities and Education, ISSHE 2020, 25 November 2020, Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129786283","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method used in this paper is library analysis (reseaach library). Data analysis was performed based on secondary data collected from books, scientific journals and research reports. This paper finds that political primordialism is depicted very strongly in the electoral political competition in post-reform Indonesia. The local elections that took place in the reform era were increasingly colored by the priority of native sons, the removal of immigrant nations, religious and ethnic minorities. In the 2019 Presidential Election, political primordialism became a selling point for politicians to win the battle that almost broke the defense of Indonesian unity. This paper concludes, strengthening primordialism in politics distorts democratic principles and poses a threat to the integrity of the nation state.","PeriodicalId":190968,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the First International Seminar Social Science, Humanities and Education, ISSHE 2020, 25 November 2020, Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129244102","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Covid 19 pandemic had a huge impact in various fields, not only on the economy, but also on socio-culture. The rapid spread of the virus invites panic in the community in terms of obtaining various Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and food supplies while all routines are carried out at home. This panic, also known as panic buying, has resulted in the scarcity of PPE in almost all regions in Indonesia. Based on this, awareness is needed for the community not to depend on PPE, which in fact is very rare and difficult to obtain, especially in Mekar Jaya Village. Therefore, community service involves the community, in this case the youth and Thematic KKN students in making creative models such as making masks using materials at home as well as hand sanitizers from the local wisdom of the local community as the output of counseling by the service team.","PeriodicalId":190968,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the First International Seminar Social Science, Humanities and Education, ISSHE 2020, 25 November 2020, Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115393928","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Lecturers lack insight into interactive digital platforms and the dilemma between synchronous and asynchronous. When synchronous, most students complained about signals, quotas, limited time, and communication patterns. When it was asynchronous, lecturers found it difficult to monitor students’ processes. From the student side, 90% of students complained about signals, quotas, limited time, and communication patters during learning through Zoom or Google Meet. As many as 85% of students complained that the learning process was less interactive when learning asynchronously. The purpose of this study is to determine the learning interaction process, to obstacles faced, and student learning outcomes using the Nearpod platform and the application of active learning strategies in the Learning Media course . This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The research subjects were 56 students participating in the course. Data collection techniques by interviewing, distributing questionnaires, observation, and tests. The results showed that through Nearpod and active learning strategies, as many as 100% of students were more able to explore the material, 88% of students were more able to find material independently, 90% of students felt that learning was more interactive, and 84% of students found it easier to understand the material. The problem faced by students was the signal when playing video features in Nearpod. The test results showed that 61% of the students' average score was 87.74 (very good) and 39% of the average score was 60 (sufficient).","PeriodicalId":190968,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the First International Seminar Social Science, Humanities and Education, ISSHE 2020, 25 November 2020, Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114793564","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study adopted the needs analysis framework suggested by Hutchinson and Waters (1994) focusing on target needs and learning needs. The research findings reveal the need for the development of very specific English courses or what is often called as ‘English for Specific Purposes’ (ESP) with a clear focus on the target discipline, tourism in Papua. There is also a demand for ESP training provision which addresses the urgent needs of tour guides and their king-term needs as professionals in the tourism business.","PeriodicalId":190968,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the First International Seminar Social Science, Humanities and Education, ISSHE 2020, 25 November 2020, Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114537855","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
