These models can be built only based on learners activities, tracked and gathered on the web server side. In this paper, we propose to outline the general principles of an entirely automated web mining based approach for modeling learners in learning management systems. So, we consider a learner model with three components: the learner's profile, the learner's knowledge, and the learner's educational preferences. These learner's model components are inferred automatically from usage data, based on web mining techniques. Then, a hierarchical multi-level model based collaborative filtering approach is applied for modeling learners into groups.","PeriodicalId":188977,"journal":{"name":"Fourth International Conference on Information and Communication Technology and Accessibility (ICTA)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124931094","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the issues of online web-based applications is to understand how a user interacts with online application and the strategy by which he reasons to perform a given activity. Know what the web user is doing can provide useful clues to better understand his behavior in order to guide him in his interaction process. This study proposes a methodology to analyze user mouse movement in order to infer the task performed by the user. To do this, a Hidden Markov Model is used for modeling the interaction of the learner with an e-learning application. The obtained results show the ability of our model to analyze the interaction in order to recognize the task performed by the learner.","PeriodicalId":188977,"journal":{"name":"Fourth International Conference on Information and Communication Technology and Accessibility (ICTA)","volume":"99 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115667523","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

So, to create accessible e-learning platforms, we need a richer implementation of their pedagogical content. An ontological representation of learning object can be suitable way to encourage reusability, share and interoperability of learning object. The aim of this study is to present a design of an accessible learning object model using an ontological approach and compliant to IMS-AccessFor All v3.0 specification. The use of ontologies will define a semantic content structures and relationships between learning object, their components and their alternatives. We will use Protégé development tool.","PeriodicalId":188977,"journal":{"name":"Fourth International Conference on Information and Communication Technology and Accessibility (ICTA)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131135743","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the areas which seem to benefit a lot from computers is the educational sector. Using computers, lessons are made simple through printing work in bulk, searching for information, communicating with learners and so on. This study sought to establish the availability of computers in Zambian schools for the blind and determine how accessible the computers were to blind learners. Furthermore, the study sought to investigate the benefits of using computers for the blind in the country. The study revealed alarming low levels of computers in schools for the blind. The ratios for one computer to the number of learners were intriguing and very saddening. The study also showed that 16/18 learners with visual impairments had no access to computers. Meaning the majority of blind learners significantly miss out on the benefit that can come from computers. In order to collect the information presented above, a qualitative research approach was used. Thirty respondents participated in the study. Twelve were administrators and teachers while eighteen were pupils. The respondents recommended that schools needed to be stocked with working computers installed with speech programs.","PeriodicalId":188977,"journal":{"name":"Fourth International Conference on Information and Communication Technology and Accessibility (ICTA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122838811","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the lack of linguistic data for the Arabic language, we work on non-annotated corpus and with the help of four annotators; we were able to annotate the different samples containing the ambiguous words. Since that, we test the naïve Bayes algorithm, the decision lists and the exemplar based algorithm. During the experimental study, we test the influence of the window size on the disambiguation quality, the derivation and the technique of smoothing for the (2n+1)-grams. We find that the exemplar based algorithm achieves the best rate of precision.","PeriodicalId":188977,"journal":{"name":"Fourth International Conference on Information and Communication Technology and Accessibility (ICTA)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128948954","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, A HMM can be considered as a simplest dynamic Bayesian network. This network allows us to design a probabilistic graphical model that can be used in machine translation field especially for sign language machine translation. In this paper, we present a Bayesian Learning based method to train the alignment between a simple GLOSS form and a more complicated GLOSS form using sign language specificities such as space locative and classifier predicates.","PeriodicalId":188977,"journal":{"name":"Fourth International Conference on Information and Communication Technology and Accessibility (ICTA)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128653564","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

PDF is a file format that is independent of the application used to create it. In order to make such file format universally accessible, it needs to follow certain standards defined by W3C. Yet, not all PDF files are equally accessible, especially for blind people. Blind people confront many difficulties with this type of document, in particular Arabic PDF. They are moving away from this type of documents while most of the documents on the web are of this kind. In this paper, we investigate the problems encountered by Arab blind people while accessing Arabic PDF files, and suggest solutions to overcome such problems.","PeriodicalId":188977,"journal":{"name":"Fourth International Conference on Information and Communication Technology and Accessibility (ICTA)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117006674","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This knowledge has different sources, and must be identified, localized, analyzed and evaluated in order to determine the ones which are actually crucial. This paper addresses the problem of knowledge localization centered on process analysis. We propose a new meta-model of the organization's processes to model knowledge localization, entitled OPM4KL. This meta-model enriches graphical representation of the organization's processes by integrating the notion of knowledge. It has been illustrated through applying it to a real case study in the context of the Association of Protection of Motors-Disabled of Sfax-Tunisia (ASHMS).","PeriodicalId":188977,"journal":{"name":"Fourth International Conference on Information and Communication Technology and Accessibility (ICTA)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126637565","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
