One of the largest factors relating to excess die wear, die failure and poor product quality is lubricant selection and process control. This paper presents an overview of the lubrication mechanisms in wire drawing, the physical and chemical makeup of wire drawing compounds and a review of testing techniques and process controls for lubricating compounds used to draw copper magnet wire.","PeriodicalId":188957,"journal":{"name":"1985 EIC 17th Electrical/Electronics Insulation Conference","volume":"100 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1985-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117235988","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The monomers that can be used in this technique need not have a formally polymerizable structure: hence they cannot be polymerized by other, more conventional techniques.
