This study aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of vaccination to combat severe cases of Covid-19 in a population. For this, population vaccination data against Covid-19 and data on severe cases were arranged in time series for correlation study. The results show that the adherence in residents to the vaccination against Covid-19 can directly reflect a reduction of serious cases, even in front of challenges such as the relaxation of restrictive measures, the pandemic politicization, the high contagion of the variants, and the spread of misinformation about vaccines. The research also demonstrates that establishing a technological policy to combat pandemics may make a difference by generating consistent and reliable data for science in the race for answers, bringing speed and organization in the population immunization.","PeriodicalId":187896,"journal":{"name":"2022 17th Iberian Conference on Information Systems and Technologies (CISTI)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121398146","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main focus is to analyze data from the General Index of Gender Equality, available in EIGE’s portal. The analysis was based on the domain and subdomain scores of EU countries, in the six domains: work, money, knowledge, time, power and health. Dashboards were created from the data collected from EIGE, and the history of the evolution of the Index was presented: first, from the analysis of the General Index to the scores of the domains and finally subdomains and how they reflect the reality experienced in EU countries and with emphasis in Portugal. The ETL methodology and Business Analytics techniques and tools were applied, thus obtaining the dashboards that revealed conclusive data about the progress of Gender Equality (2013-2021). It was intended to present another visualization to complement traditional infographics available on EIGE. It was considered that this study is relevant, as it is a topic that is debated today and that needs attention from users and researchers.","PeriodicalId":187896,"journal":{"name":"2022 17th Iberian Conference on Information Systems and Technologies (CISTI)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114220751","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Smaller organizations, and especially those in developing countries, are facing bigger challenges in this process due to limited resources and lack of digital skills. One of the keys of this transformation is the digitalization of information, where optical character recognition (OCR) plays an essential role. This research analyzes current OCR tools and systems for document digitalization in low-resources organizations and presents a semi-automatic document processing and text-recognition solution that addresses their needs. The study then presents an experimental design to assess the efficiency of the tool. The results support the adequacy of using these tools, compared to current manual digitalization processes.","PeriodicalId":187896,"journal":{"name":"2022 17th Iberian Conference on Information Systems and Technologies (CISTI)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121529261","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The goal was to encourage the use of public transport in urban areas. It was assumed in this study that digitalization at the service of users and managers of public transport networks is a key instrument to improve their efficiency and attractiveness. Given the topicality and importance of the subject, it was pertinent to establish as the core goal of this work, not only the study of the currently used mobile applications within the urban areas of Lisbon and Porto, but also its impacts on the development of public transportation. Ultimately it was intended to identify among the users, the need for possible developments. As a methodology, an exploratory focus group was used at first. Therefore, it was possible to gain a comprehensive understanding on the users of public transports, their preferences, and which applications they most commonly use. Additionally, at the end of the focus group an inferential survey was also analyzed, amended and validated. This survey had the main objective of collecting the necessary data for analyzing the impact of an application for mobile devices, with the goal of improve the quality of public transport. After reviewing the results, it was possible to conclude that it exists a wide range of digital applications available on the market. In fact, these applications allow the mitigation of some transport problems/issues, thus improving the user experience of public means of transportation. This leads to the conclusion that it has a positive impact on the user. Finally, the need to improve current functions and even add new features was also identified.","PeriodicalId":187896,"journal":{"name":"2022 17th Iberian Conference on Information Systems and Technologies (CISTI)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121531882","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The architecture analysis and detailed design are part of the key efforts for the correct development and continuity of the solution. The teaching of software engineering still has many challenges to solve. One of these challenges is the teaching of software design, since the efforts made during the course often end up in a dead document when moving on to the construction phase. This problem also occurs in the industry. The reviewed works show different approaches to solve this problem. The objective of this work is to propose a tool based on the model-driven approach to create class diagrams and transform them into the source code. Also, you can make changes to the diagram during construction stages and stay in sync with the code. The results show an encouraging experience with the use of the tool by students of the software design course during an academic semester.","PeriodicalId":187896,"journal":{"name":"2022 17th Iberian Conference on Information Systems and Technologies (CISTI)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121552898","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cybersecurity risks have increased in organizations due to the process of digital transformation they are going through, reflecting in a notorious way in the financial sector, where a considerable percentage of the attacks carried out on the various industries are concentrated. In this sense, risk assessment becomes a critical point for their proper management and, in particular, for organizations to have a risk analysis method that allows them to make cost-effective decisions. The proposed method integrates a layered architecture, a list of attacks to be prioritized, and a loss taxonomy to streamline risk analysis over the data security domain including: encryption, masking, deletion, and resiliency. The layered architecture considers: presentation layer, business logic layer, and data management layer. The method was validated and tested by 6 financial companies in Lima, Peru. The preliminary results identified the applicability of the proposed method collected through surveys of experts from the 6 entities surveyed, obtaining 85.7% who consider that the proposed three-layer architecture contains the assets considered critical.","PeriodicalId":187896,"journal":{"name":"2022 17th Iberian Conference on Information Systems and Technologies (CISTI)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127746690","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among the messages disseminated are those of an emotional, reflective, optimistic and even entertaining nature. This behavior has been analyzed by some authors, calling this adaptation of brand discourse to the reality of an existing crisis as Advertcrisis. The objective of this study is to analyze how KFC, Cinemark and Samsung adapted their communication on Facebook during the COVID-19 crisis. It should be noted that these brands market internationally; however, the study of their communication was based on the social networks they manage in Peru. Therefore, the study is subject to a national market. To do so, a comparative review of the messages before and during the crisis was carried out through a qualitative research based on the case study. The results were contrasted with theoretical reflections, obtaining as a result that the three brands were immersed in the scenario described by the Advertcrisis theory.","PeriodicalId":187896,"journal":{"name":"2022 17th Iberian Conference on Information Systems and Technologies (CISTI)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126417875","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These systems are being developed to help tourists find sites and services that are of interest to them. To promote tourism in a city, this paper presents an enhanced user-based collaborative filtering approach with demographic information for recommending touristic sites, which provides precise recommendations. The collaborative filtering approach recommends touristic sites considering two user types: new tourist and registered tourist. In this way, the recommendations of tourist sites are generated according to the user's historical rating or based on the user's demographic information. The approach is evaluated on a tourist sites dataset extracted from the TripAdvisor platform that contains historical ratings, and demographic information of the tourist. To measure the performance of the proposed approach, RMSE is used to evaluate predictions accuracy, and Precision and Recall measures to evaluate the quality of recommendations. The results showed an improvement in the prediction accuracy and a significant performance with precision and recall, especially in the presence of the cold-start problem.","PeriodicalId":187896,"journal":{"name":"2022 17th Iberian Conference on Information Systems and Technologies (CISTI)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127943555","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
