It has become almost impossible to understand moral feelings and relevant behavior. Certain part of the society is marked with spiritual poverty, impairment or negligence of moral values; violence, cruelty, dishonorable acts, indifference towards humans, egoistic intentions and criminal behavior prevail. At schools and families, youngsters are not provided with the teachings on morality, methods of self-management and behavior management. For that reason, young people do not have a full-fledged approach to moral norms and categories. They have difficulties in telling apart valuable and valueless, true and false, right and wrong. Therefore, the research problem of the present article is to determine the essence of honor from the 21 st century viewpoint and what ways and means are needed to restore and maintain it among the members of society. The article deals with and analyzes the opinions of such outstanding public figures and thinkers on the concept of honor and dignity as Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Immanuel Kant, William Shakespeare, Lao Tzu, Carl Rogers, Kwame Anthony Appiah, J. It discusses the important role that mathematics plays in practice, as well as the effects of poor performance in mathematics on the academic career of students. The three pillars of the educational process are summarized in this article. In addition, the reasons for low-level academic achievement in mathematics are categorized in five divisions: student-related factors, teacher-related factors, curriculum-related factors, school-related factors and family-related factors. The article also states the stages in which mathematics goes through during school study, which are acquiring a strong foundation, practising mathematics, and the self-stage. Then it goes on more specifically to discuss the stages in which the teaching of any new concept or subject in mathematics must pass through. The researcher followed the qualitative approach based on in-depth interviews. The study ends up with suggested solutions for the problem of low-level achievement in mathematics for the student, teacher, parents and school.","PeriodicalId":187210,"journal":{"name":"International e-Journal of Educational Studies","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116075532","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is believed to be hard to teach and to learn also many pupils and students in CPL courses have difficulties to master all required competencies and skills. At the introductory level of CPL, that problem is even more notable. There are different approaches to improve the dropout rate at CPL courses and to populate CPL. Recently, special visual environments for Visual Programming Language (VPL) are being used. Early research results show that VPL can be more efficient than classical textual programming, students can be more motivated, less bored and not burden with the syntax of CPL in hand, also Iraq as a new developing county especially in education and technology not study CPL in primary and high schools. In this study, we use visual basic for learning CPLs at 6th grade to 9th-grade primary schools in Iraq. We teach visual basic in four primary schools in Sulaimani city during a course and we test the students, the result of the test shows that the students have the ability to learn CPL by rating 71%, also the students enjoyed with learning CPL. The family and social environment, the school and the national festivals play an important role and have a particular effect on the formation of a child’s national identity and on the identity of the national ‘other.’ Research has shown that kindergarten students have already form a strong national identity, in favour of the dominant national identity. This is combined with stereotypes and prejudiced opinions against the non-dominant national identities. For the majority of Greek students, the national enemy is usually represented by the citizens of Turkey. In this article is presented an action research which took place in a Greek kindergarten; its aim was to transform the children’s view of the neighbouring ‘other.’ The individual activities aimed to help the children to transcend the stereotypical image of the Turk as the enemy of Greece and to discover cultural similarities between the two peoples. The research showed that after the completion of the activities, the young students formulated significantly more positive views than their initial ones about this particular national ‘other.’","PeriodicalId":187210,"journal":{"name":"International e-Journal of Educational Studies","volume":"136 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134347820","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study which was dominated by qualitative paradigm was done in the pattern of case study. With this aim, data were gathered from 30 prospective teachers via “Algebraic Habits of Mind Worksheet” and interviews. The data were analyzed in the light of the components of theoretical title of algebraic habits of mind and according to the stages of descriptive analysis. The teacher candidates made solutions based on memorizations without writing what is given and wanted; however they clearly wrote what is given and wanted in the last two problems. While this seems to be a form of rules that represent direct functions in the questions seen as exercises; it causes them to use the thinking / reverse thinking step more actively when they are perceived as problems. At the interviews, it is seen that the fourth grade prospective teachers are more detailed about the construction on their stunets’ knowledge than the first grade prospective students and that the first grade only focuses on solving.","PeriodicalId":187210,"journal":{"name":"International e-Journal of Educational Studies","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126091161","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
