Designing methodology, photometrical, electrical, optical and thermal results will be discussed. The proposed tunable white LED system is able to achieve high CRI (Color Rendering Index) (above 90) in a large CCT range (2800 - 5500 K), thus allowing a high comfort light in different conditions. Results from thermal design indicate a maximum junction temperature of 85°C at 700 mA, with an equivalent thermal resistance junction to ambient of 1.6 K/W for the series of LEDs used in the light engine. The optical emission has been designed by means of a color mixing chamber and a parabolic reflector thus achieving a good color uniformity at different emission angles and 18° beam divergence. The Light engine is engineered to be efficient (above 85 lm/W) and cost effective while working with a standard commercially available constant current LED driver. The specific control gear can be programmed to control the intensity and CCT of several lamps connected together.","PeriodicalId":187166,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 1st International Forum on Research and Technologies for Society and Industry Leveraging a better tomorrow (RTSI)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123720945","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a simulation framework based on the Modelica language is presented and included as an important tool in the phase of preliminary design of a light duty hybrid electric vehicle. The proposed framework will also be used to analyse the power management on the vehicle implementing different control logics, with particular interest for the hybrid configuration. In this analysis many parameters have been investigated, considering both standard state of the vehicle data, but also additional factors describing the external environment. In order to evaluate the performance of the whole vehicle in different operating conditions, the model has been simulated over several driving cycles, representing mission data specific of the average light duty vehicle user. The project has been developed with the partnership of Iveco CNH Industrial, a vehicle manufacturing company.","PeriodicalId":187166,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 1st International Forum on Research and Technologies for Society and Industry Leveraging a better tomorrow (RTSI)","volume":"80 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114884311","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our results predict that the possibility to separate electrically those two torque sources is very promising from a technological point of view for both next generation of nanoscale spintronic oscillators and microwave detectors. A scalable synchronization scheme based on the parallel connection of those three terminal devices is also proposed.","PeriodicalId":187166,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 1st International Forum on Research and Technologies for Society and Industry Leveraging a better tomorrow (RTSI)","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124152249","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

ICT devices will be not a simple add-on of the electrical system, but their availability and efficiency will be essential to the operation of the entire power distribution system as support of network management and protection. The paper is focused on modeling of ICT devices in a co-simulation platform for smart distribution networks, which permits an integrated study of the power distribution network and the ICT network. The co-simulation platform developed allows highlighting the level of detail necessary in ICT modelling to assess the efficiency of the control algorithms, the effects of the loss of control signals, and the consistence of simulation to reality in future smart distribution network.","PeriodicalId":187166,"journal":{"name":"2015 IEEE 1st International Forum on Research and Technologies for Society and Industry Leveraging a better tomorrow (RTSI)","volume":"135 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127372230","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
