This research used mixed-method research. The researcher chose class XI MIPA 4 of senior high school 1 Samaturu, Kolaka. The instruments of this research were questionnaires and interviews. The result of this research revealed that the students’ attitudes were generally positive toward the use of google classroom in a writing activity. It is supported by the data obtained based on the three aspects of attitude. Cognitive (60%), affective (77,3%), and behavioral (77,3%) aspects of attitude were positive. The researcher also found there are two factors that hinder the students in writing descriptive texts assigned through google classroom, they are: poor internet connection and being lazy. While the supporting factors are four, they are: the display and the feature of google classroom, good internet connection, google classroom is flexible, and a study partner. In addition, there are three strategies used by the students in writing descriptive text, they are planning, drafting, and editing. Further, in writing descriptive text assignments, there are two challenges founded by the students assigned through google classroom, they are deadline and vocabulary.","PeriodicalId":185808,"journal":{"name":"Foremost Journal","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129087068","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the help of quasi-experimental research and qualitative data, this study was quantitative. Students in the tenth grade make up the research's total population, which is 276. The writer recruited 112 students for three classes—two experimental and one control—using purposive selection to choose the sample. The control class was taught using Conventional Instruction, as opposed to the experimental class which was taught using Reciprocal Teaching Technique and Metacognitive Strategy. The author utilized a written test to determine whether the data were normal and used the chi square formula and the fisher formula to determine whether the data were homogeneous. The findings of this study revealed that students' reading comprehension scores weren't very good after being taught the technique, as evidenced by the post-test mean values for students who were taught using the reciprocal method being lower than those who were taught using the metacognitive strategy.","PeriodicalId":185808,"journal":{"name":"Foremost Journal","volume":"78 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134644293","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The 253 students in the entire 10th grade courses at SMAN 14 Kota Tangerang made up the study's sample population. Then, using random sampling, 72 students were chosen as the research's sample. Peer Assisted Learning Strategy (PALS) as a variable X and short answer test students' reading comprehension as a variable Y were used to collect the data. Pre- and post-test data were collected. While the control class scored 28.64 with a minimum of 7 and a maximum of 47, the experimental class's PALS score was 38.44, with a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 57. The results of the Mann-Whitney U Test's calculation of the null hypothesis can be seen; the value in the control class was lower than the t-table with a value of 0.0650.05, while the value in the experiment class was higher with a value of 0.109>0.05. The study was carried out in a class that consist of seven students at Windeerlust Course. The methodology implemented in this study was Classroom Action Research (CAR), which entails four steps: planning, data collection, observation, and reflection. The researcher used field notes, questionnaires, an interviewing guide, an observation checklist, documentation, and tests to gather data. Both qualitative and quantitative analyses were used for the research data analysis. Qualitative analysis was implemented to find the student learning behavior that was represented in their learning using flashcards. Quantitative analysis was implemented to measure students' vocabulary scores both before and after the research. The findings of this study demonstrate that utilizing digital flashcards to teach vocabulary increases students' attention and enthusiasm. Additionally, it has been discovered that using digital flash card might help children comprehend language better. This study was conducted at SMA Syekh Yusuf Tangerang using samples from grade 2. This research is pre-experimental in nature. This study sampled two classes: XI IPS1 as the experimental class and XI IPS2 as the control class. Both groups were given a pre-test at the start of the study, various procedures in the middle, and a post-test at the conclusion. The acquired data were analyzed using version 24 of IBM SPSS statistics. Using the T-test, researchers assessed the test findings. The findings of the data analysis indicate that t count is more than t table (3,775>1,679), so Ha is approved. This indicates that Think Pair Share has a good effect on pupils' reading comprehension.","PeriodicalId":185808,"journal":{"name":"Foremost Journal","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125660997","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A questionnaire adapted from the Sabbah (2015) and Faste & Lin (2012) models was used to find out the teachers’ perception of (a) the use of digital mind map software, and (b) the use of digital mind maps in English learning. Interviews were also done afterward to confirm the questionnaire results. It was found that most respondents believed that digital mind maps were more practical to do, enable work to finish faster and give room for creativity. Mind maps can be used for any topics, genres, skills, and language focus, though mind maps for listening need more exploration. It is suggested that further research involving more respondents in more specific limitations is conducted.","PeriodicalId":185808,"journal":{"name":"Foremost Journal","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129134970","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
