Recent years have seen a rise in the number of studies focusing on the propagation characteristics of the Television White Space (TVWS), which is the frequency range between 54MHz and 790MHz. However, interference is one of the significant issues that limit the utilization of available spectrum in TV bands, lower the quality of services among cognitive(secondary) users, and cause harmful destruction to licensed users. In literature, a lot of work has been done to address the challenge of interference in TVWS networks but many of them focused on interference between primary and secondary users in order to protect the licensed (primary) users while few did among secondary users. As a result, in this work, we employ a particle swarm optimization algorithm to optimize the spectrum and reduce interference among secondary users. Furthermore, we compare the performance of particle swarm optimization with the artificial bee colony algorithm. Simulation results obtained show that particle swarm optimization outperforms the artificial bee algorithm thus indicting its strength in reducing interference among secondary users.","PeriodicalId":185729,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Science, Engineering and Business for Sustainable Development Goals (SEB-SDG)","volume":"111 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124098375","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There is a need to understand the unique challenges of the SMEs sector in Nigeria and what business owners particularly in developed countries are doing to tackle these challenges. Strategic agility is regarded as the key asset for any company. This is even more important in a knowledge-based, unpredictable economy, where the importance of invisible elements and services is increasing. This study examined how well-performing SMEs in Lagos, Nigeria respond to strategic agility. A combination of these methods was employed. Twenty interviews with SME owners were conducted, in addition to the distribution of 400 questionnaires to SME managers. The returned questionnaires were analyzed using multiple regression. Qualitative interviews were also analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings indicate that innovation capabilities and strategic capabilities have a significant positive impact on organizational performance, and developing people have an insignificant negative impact on the performance of SMEs. Hence, the study recommends that focusing on innovative capability of strategic leadership such as new product development, innovation activities, marketing intelligence, value creation and new ideas with radical changes are germane for enhancing performance.","PeriodicalId":185729,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Science, Engineering and Business for Sustainable Development Goals (SEB-SDG)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121581740","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This issue has been extensively attended to as a selection problem using different search engines and recommender systems. Unfortunately, though there are multiple conflicting criteria about the journal features, the selection problem has never been viewed as a multi-criteria decision making one. In this paper, journal selection and ranking is formulated as multi-criteria decision making problem and a new approach for journal ranking based on author's preference and preference selection index is proposed. The proposed approach has been verified with three cases in the field of Computer Science. Journal indexing, publisher, percentile, citescore and open access status were considered as journal attributes. Scopus and Science Citation Index Expanded are sources of the journal dataset. Selenium and Beautiful Soup were used as web scraping tools for capturing journal information. The case study results suggested different ranking results for each author, reflecting the effect of each author's preference rating of the journal attribute options. This study has been able to formulate journal selection and ranking as a multi-criteria decision making problem and a ranking system has been implemented to support potential authors.","PeriodicalId":185729,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Science, Engineering and Business for Sustainable Development Goals (SEB-SDG)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121754858","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The green sand used in the casting of aluminum specimens made of alloy 6351 in this work was made by varying the percentage proportions of sand mixtures- dextrin additive, bentonite clay, and moisture content. These variables were mixed with local silica sand to get the utmost operational parts of the mixture that will enhance green sand production of aluminum 6351 alloys. Optimal (custom) design of Design-Expert 10 software was used for Designing the experiment of this work and 20 runs were given. After the preparation of molds per run and casting, cast specimens obtained were subjected to a tensile strength test to achieve tensile strength results as the Response output of the study. To keep up with the wireless cellular network's users' exponential expansion and their desire for high data rates, this quality is essential. However, the use of higher frequencies results in smaller cells, which exacerbates already-present issues like interference. This is particularly evident in mobile User Equipment (UE) that traverses the network. At the downlink of the Multi-User MIMO (MU-MIMO), researchers have made an effort to address this issue to improve Quality of Service (QoS) metrics such as outage probability, Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise ratio (SINR), etc. However, it has been shown that the majority of the algorithms adopted by researchers to study the downlink MU-MIMO system are computationally complex. Although, this is partly due to the dynamic nature of the aspects that must be taken into account in order to reflect real-world events. The effects of which can be seen as interference, outage, energy consumption, security, link and capacity reliability, etc. In addressing these concerns, most work inadvertently trade-off the computational complexity to investigate these effects or put aside factors such as the mobility state of the UE to lower complexity and investigate the downlink MU-MIMO. This paper proposes an Efficient Algorithm for Downlink (EMD-MU-MIMO) for Fifth-Generation and Beyond (B5G) networks using a closed-form outage probability of a discrete-time frame of MU-MIMO Transmission. In comparison to the conventional IEEE 802.11ax algorithm, the proposed algorithm mitigates interference in the downlink MU-MIMO by 7.5% and improves the SINR by 26.1%.","PeriodicalId":185729,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Science, Engineering and Business for Sustainable Development Goals (SEB-SDG)","volume":"133 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123590305","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The newly fabricated alloy was examined via Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) to ensure even dispersion of the impregnated particles. The wear rate and hardness properties of the alloy were compared with the unreinforced Aluminium alloy. The results indicate that the multi-pass Friction Stir Processing (FSP) method affects the particle distribution within the 1100 Aluminum alloy, which in turn influences the wear resistance and the hardness of the material. After three cumulative passes, the hardness property of the newly formed 1100Al/Ti-62222 Alloy increased from 26.52HV to 41.8HV, and the wear resistance of the unreinforced Alloy has a mean value for the coefficient of friction of 0.72 while the three-pass composites have 0.34. Furthermore, no agglomeration of particles nor any microstructural defects were observed after three FSP passes. This shows that for typical surface engineering applications, the set of parameters and the process used in this study can be considered.","PeriodicalId":185729,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Science, Engineering and Business for Sustainable Development Goals (SEB-SDG)","volume":"107 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124793743","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In RSA, the key size is larger compared to algorithms in cryptography. In this concept, keys are generated with any two prime numbers. An unauthorized person can easily obtain the keys using a Greatest Common Delvisor (GCD) attack. This is one of the main disadvantages of RSA cryptography. Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) is also an asymmetric cryptography with a small key size. The proposed work aims to overcome the disadvantage of GCD attack in RSA. An RSA private and public key can be combined with an ECC private and public key using Exclusive OR(XOR) to generate a new hybrid private and public key. RSA encryption can be done using a new hybrid public key. RSA decryption can be done using a new hybrid private key. The advantage of the proposed work is to create three key levels for cryptography to prevent GCD attack in RSA. Data breaches have constituted a large loss when it comes to the integrity of an organization and their sensitive information being leaked or authorized by an unauthorised user. This research implements a solution to detect and prevent data leakage in transit using LSTM and the AES-256 encryption algorithm. Using a real-world news dataset, the study introduced a solution using LSTM to train the dataset and AES-256 encryption to encrypt the data based on the trained dataset. Test data was then passed to confirm the accuracy of the model and detect if there was a match on the news dataset. From the results of the study, the model was able to detect the sample or test data accurately as leaked data with an accuracy of 93.7%. The leaves are those of Moringa oleifera, Parkia biglobosa and Anacardium occidentalis. The accepted techniques for analysis of the Association of Official Analytical Chemists (AOAC) was employed in this study. The result showed that all of the leaves had substantial levels of crude protein (10.27-24.75%), nitrogen free extract (40.92-76.33%), and ash (8.33-13.22%), but low levels of ether extract (2.01-3.15%). The ten minerals and nine amino acids analysed for were present in all the leaves. Phytate, alkaloid and tannin were lowest in Parkia biglobosa with the respective values of 4.0, 0.2 and 5.6 mg/g; Moringa oleifera has the lowest saponin (0.95 mg/g) and cyanide (0.94 mg/g) while the lowest value of oxalate (27.0 mg/g) was observed in Anacardium occidentalis leaves. Highest values for phytate (2.15 mg/g), alkaloid (4.02 mg/g), oxalate (0.38 mg/g) and tannin (1.83 mg/g) were observed in Moringa oleifera; highest values for saponin (6.13 mg/g) and cyanide (1.38 mg/g) were observed in Anacardium occidentalis and Parkia biglobosa respectively. Recently, Kibria and Lukman (2020) developed the KL estimator and found it preferable to the ridge estimator. In this study, we modified the KL estimator to propose a new estimator. The new estimator is called the Modified KL estimator. Simulation study and real-life application were carried out to compare the performance of this new estimator and some other existing estimators.
