Since the p-median problem is classified as NP-hard, the application of metaheuristics to solve it is inevitable. Considering the fast development in metaheuristics, choosing the most appropriate algorithm to solve this problem is a difficult task. Therefore, this work presents a comparative study of several classical and recently developed nature-inspired optimization algorithms to solve the discrete uncapacitated p-median problem on several randomly generated test instances with different sizes and spec-ifications.","PeriodicalId":185510,"journal":{"name":"2022 8th International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies (CoDIT)","volume":"147 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133038786","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the one hand, a report published by the WHO estimated that some 1.3 million people are killed and 50 million injured in road accidents worldwide each year. On the other hand, a report published by the National Observatory of Road Safety in Tunisia showed that 1007 people were killed and 6757 injured in Tunisia in 202. Certainly, the statistics allow estimating the level of road insecurity at the global and national levels. To improve the current situation of road safety in Tunisia we propose a new mobile crowdsourcing platform called R-safety which allows road users to report in real-time their road safety feeling indexes. It also allows users to report violations they witness and interact with the NORS. R-safety also aims to inform citizens about risk areas through a vulnerability map that divides the areas into five types from the least dangerous to the most dangerous. In our approach, we are interested in improving the current situation of road safety by integrating the opinions of road users in the decision support tool of the national observatory of road safety. Thus, integrating citizens opinions into the information system would serve to have new sources of incoming data to improve decisions. This research work responds to real needs discussed with the members responsible for the studies and research of the NORS. We are evaluating our proposal through a questionnaire with 524 participants. This questionnaire helps us to choose among the proposed safety indicators those that affect road safety according to the citizen's opinion. This result confirms the importance of our crowdsourcing service.","PeriodicalId":185510,"journal":{"name":"2022 8th International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies (CoDIT)","volume":"494 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133153340","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It can extract only 5% of the information held in the signal. Computer-assisted diagnosis could offer a way to obtain fast and reliable results and significantly reduce inter-and intra-assessor variability. In this document, we will present a tool for automatic analysis of EEG based on artificial neural networks. The proposed method consists in using signal processing and artificial intelligence algorithms to improve the interpretation of the EEG. For this purpose, we have two databases from the Nihon Kohden and Cadwell systems whose files are encrypted. The first step was to develop an application to decrypt and read the files. Thanks to this, the files could be decrypted in a standard format and the signals could be read. After that, we applied our method of automatic interpretation of the EEG. First, we preprocessed the signals using an Notch filter (50 Hz) and a bandpass filter (1–30Hz). Then, we extracted the features in the time-frequency domain based on three elements: the wavelet transform, its means, and its standard deviations. These features represent what we have used as inputs to our neural networks for classification. Our algorithm efficiently interpreted EEG signals with a correct classification rate of 97.9%, a sensitivity of 96.9%, and a specificity of 98.9%. These results have been deployed in an application that allows not only to visualize automatically the signals and the power spectral densities but also to extract the characteristics while displaying the wavelet transform related to the EEG signals of each chain.","PeriodicalId":185510,"journal":{"name":"2022 8th International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies (CoDIT)","volume":"102 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133439947","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These systems replace the traditional screening ways which are manual and time-consuming. These systems use some measurable visual component describing the shape, color, and texture of skin diseases to recognize them and to specify their malignancy. This article will be concentrated on the importance of using some statistical features and extracting the most relevant features of texture-colored images by calculating their degree of characterization. Using these highly-rated static textural features, non-fatal skin disease and melanoma classification results are presented and discussed.","PeriodicalId":185510,"journal":{"name":"2022 8th International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies (CoDIT)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125624587","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method considers unknown control gains and uncertain plant parame-ters, a common problem in control engineering applications. In order to deal with the uncertain parameters, this study proposes a backstepping adaptive strategy applying Nussbaum functions to know the sign of the control gains. The BLF imposes partial constraints to keep the trajectories of the system inside a safe operation set. The proposed controller is tested in a virtual one-link robotic manipulator including actuator dynamics to develop an adequate trajectory tracking. The maximum tracking error norm was 0.02, which fulfilled the maximum constrained bound of 0.5.","PeriodicalId":185510,"journal":{"name":"2022 8th International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies (CoDIT)","volume":"353 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132344005","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The system under consideration is linear discrete time-variant with sensor faults in the framework of mixed uncertainties (stochastic noises and bounded uncertainties for parameter matrices). The proposed method enhances the fault detection performance and provides the ability of localization and estimation of the detected fault. It provides also an on-line fault diagnosis with no delay in time instant with the computation time depending only on the computer performance.","PeriodicalId":185510,"journal":{"name":"2022 8th International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies (CoDIT)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133827648","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main drawback of numerous approaches lead to small or limited sampled time period, which is an important point in industrial processes. To overcome this difficulty, we propose a modified inter-sampled observer-predictor which ensures an exponential convergence and gives the ability to push the sampled time period to its limit. Comparing to other observer structures, our design is char-acterized by its simplicity because we only need a tuning gain. Our main contribution is to show that our modified observer allows to widen the sampling period as much as possible, while guaranteeing the exponential convergence of our observer. The effectiveness of our proposed approach is shown through numerical simulations which have been performed on a well-known bioreactor example.","PeriodicalId":185510,"journal":{"name":"2022 8th International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies (CoDIT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122981864","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A FCS is an unregulated voltage source due to the nonlinear relationship between the output voltage and the demanded current; then, an effective controller is needed to deal with this issue. A controller design of an energy processing system is discussed in this work. This system consists of a FCS and a power boost converter that delivers energy to a load despite input voltage variations and significant load changes. The designed controller should ensure voltage regulation, good dynamic performance, and system stability. Experimental validation is carried out with a FCS and a 900 W boost converter prototype.","PeriodicalId":185510,"journal":{"name":"2022 8th International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies (CoDIT)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123936301","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The mathematical model is obtained by Euler-Lagrange equations and some considerations are taken. The control scheme is divided into three steps: first, a linear control law for angle's base is proposed for tracking trajectory problem. Then, the desired trajectory in angle position is used as artificial control input and some auxiliary controllers are developed in order to express the dynamics as a pendulum on a cart system. The synthetic dataset N-CMAPSS was used, which contains a performance degradation dataset until the presence of failure of an aircraft fleet under real flight conditions is detected. The principal element of maintenance focuses on the predictability of the remaining useful life; predictive models need performance information of an asset from the beginning to failure. [1]. The approach considers the data analysis to understand the data behavior. Monotonicity and principal component analysis are applied in the variable selection. Furthermore, convolutional neural networks are integrated to predict the remaining useful life, resulting in a 10.91 mean of RSME. The “DS01” dataset was used for training; six engines were used for the training dataset and the remaining four for the test dataset.","PeriodicalId":185510,"journal":{"name":"2022 8th International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies (CoDIT)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129297790","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
