As clinicians it is important to find the best fit for each patient, and closely monitor its usage. This article discusses the dosage and clinical effects of common antidepressants. Through the use of Anecdotes, Metaphors and Stories (AMS), counselors can effectively begin a group and tap into the unconscious emotions and representational systems of their group members. Additionally, through the use of AMS, counselors can facilitate the process of group therapy at any stage. This article provides a review of anecdotes, metaphors and stories and how they can be applied in the group therapy setting. Additionally, theoretical and practical application of these techniques are explained and illustrated. In therapy, clients who have grown up with diffuse boundaries often present complaints about depression, burnout, anger or resentment. This article presents a treatment model that identifies three important steps when working with clients who have experienced enmeshed family structures. First, the article suggests that therapists educate clients on enmeshment, as well as its opposite extreme, disengagement. The second objective is to determine a healthy middle ground between enmeshment and disengagement. The third objective is to help clients conceptualize guilt and apply appropriate tools for dealing with it. The authors present myths regarding ending or sustaining a marriage that can be particularly problematic to clients. The myths presented in this manuscript are regarded by the authors as particularly misleading, some of which promote destructive reactions of the marital partners, whether a couple decides to stay together, separate, or divorce. Clients with unrealistic expectations regarding the outcomes of sustaining or ending a marriage are bound to be disappointed or upset.
