Indeed, to accomplish this autonomy, three essential modules are needed: The perception of the environment and the vehicle localization in it, the trajectory planning and the vehicle's control. The work presented in this paper covers the trajectory planning module and can be considered as an extension of previous works presented in [1], where we developed an algorithm for local trajectory planning based on Clothoid Tentacles method. In [1], the tentacles method is used to overtake a static obstacle and turn back to the reference trajectory defined by the right lane of the road. In this paper, we aim to ameliorate the tentacles method by studying the overtaking maneuver, and generating a suitable trajectory for the lane changing maneuvers taking into account the vehicle dynamics, the road rules and some security measurements. This trajectory will serve as an intermediate reference trajectory for the vehicle in the next few seconds. The local planning algorithm is then executed with the aim of tracking the generated trajectory while avoiding possible obstacles. The maneuver planning level added to the tentacles method in this work aims to simplify the planning task and to guarantee the vehicle stability and security.","PeriodicalId":184458,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115152640","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Whereas these years Chinese government was forced to pay more attention to freeway safety problems due to its leading fatality rates regardless of its luxury infrastructure criteria. Research on crash rates and speed has been achieved by many people, but paper about the relationship between crash rates and average speed difference between cars and large vehicles on freeway kept rare. This research explored this relationship using three-year crash data and traffic flow data of Beijing suburban section of one freeway. From the result it can be concluded that speed difference and crash rates are correlative, and similar empirical functions were obtained using compound, growth, and exponential curve to fit. The general law extracted from this paper showed: with the increasing of the average speed difference, the crash rates increased rapidly","PeriodicalId":184458,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124653441","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

ALINEA control approach is adopted for ramp study so that expressway is ensured to be unblocked. When overfull queue does not exist at the on-ramp or correlative section, the object is to minimize the vehicle average delay on ramp and intersections based on the precondition that expressway is unblocked. When overfull queue exist only at the on-ramp, green truncation strategy or red extension strategy is adopted. When overfull queue is only existed at correlated section of signal intersection, green extension strategy or red truncation is adopted. When overfull queue exist both at on-ramp and correlated section of signal intersection, road guidance and VMS control are activated. Cell transmission model is adopted for signal control surface street so that the cycle and green time of intersection can be optimized dynamically to maximum the whole benefit of expressway and surface street. The model and the control strategy have been illustrated via a simple case study, which shows that integrated control strategy proposed in this paper can keep overfull queue from the on-ramp and correlated intersection while vehicle average delay of correlated intersection is still acceptable.","PeriodicalId":184458,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123207655","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Then, the distribution characteristics LC duration, LC distance, relative velocity, relative distance, Time to Collision (TTC) and LC starting points frequency are obtained. The distributions of LC duration and LC distance follow to the lognormal distribution. The proportion of the relative distance between the target vehicle and the leading vehicle on the current lane in the interval of [0m, 20m] is 61.90%. In 63.67% of the cases, the target vehicle's velocity is greater than the leading vehicle on the current lane. It indicates that the target vehicle chooses to change lanes when the driver cannot achieve the desired speed and driving conditions on the current lane. Finally, the LC collision risk clustering between the target vehicle and the leading vehicle on the target lane is clustered by Fuzzy C-Means Algorithm based on Genetic Algorithm and Simulated Annealing Algorithm (GASA-FCM). LC crash risk is divided into three categories, namely low risk, medium risk and high risk. The clustering results are consistent with the actual situation, demonstrating the effectiveness of the GASA-FCM clustering algorithm.","PeriodicalId":184458,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114820669","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It was assumed that the travelers influenced by ATIS follow two types of behavior rules while choosing the route: the one equipped with ATIS would select the shortest path, and obeyed the user equilibrium (UE) distribution; while the other unequipped with ATIS would choose the path according to their perceived travel time, and obeyed the Logit random distribution. A discrete mixed behavior route flow dynamic evolution model with a capacity constraint has been established, whose equilibrium state is equivalent to a minimized problem's Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KT) condition. To analyze the proposed model, a numerical example was conducted. The results show that the proposed models converged to the mixed equilibrium state.","PeriodicalId":184458,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125478632","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a HTSCS performance assessment model which employs failure rate (probability of top events) as the performance index based on fault tree analysis (FTA) method is presented. Based on this, the performance assessment procedure, the cause and probability of HTSCS failures are provided, and subsequently some advice on the improvement of HTSCS performance is given. The presented model can also be applied in the maintenance of HTSCS, which can provide feasible program for the location of system faults, and thus reduce the workload of fault diagnosis, improve the maintenance efficiency of HTSCS.","PeriodicalId":184458,"journal":{"name":"International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133416047","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
