However, an OFDM signal has a large Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR), which can result in significant distortion when passed through a nonlinear device, such as a transmitter power amplifier. Number of techniques has been proposed for reducing the PAPR in OFDM systems. Among them Companding is a well-known technique for the PAPR reduction of OFDM signals. Recently, a piecewise linear companding technique is proposed to extenuate companding distortion. In this paper, a joint piecewise linear companding technique and Discrete Cosine transform (DCT) method is proposed to reduce peak-to-average of OFDM signal. Simulation results show that the proposed technique may obtain significant PAPR reduction while maintaining good performance in the Bit Error Rate (BER) and Power Spectral Density (PSD) compared to piecewise linear companding technique.","PeriodicalId":183137,"journal":{"name":"2015 13th International Conference on Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility (INCEMIC)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133890301","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In every day human are affected by the radiation of electromagnetic field emitted from various electromagnetic sources. Two major factors are considered among many other factors when considering effect of radiation from antenna, one is the skin penetration depth (PD) and another is the specific absorption rate (SAR). The direct calculation of specific absorption rate (SAR) and skin penetration depth (PD) are more difficult task because of the complexity of the human body structure. In this paper, we numerically evaluated and analyzed the skin penetration depth (PD) and specific absorption rate (SAR) for various human tissues with different range of frequencies. The results arrived from this analysis can be extensively used for the selection of antenna location, SAR reduction etc. The results obtained from the analysis and the corresponding graphs were presented at the end of the paper.","PeriodicalId":183137,"journal":{"name":"2015 13th International Conference on Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility (INCEMIC)","volume":"188 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114186405","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Microstrip antennas with low return loss over wide band width are the correct choice. In this paper an optimized octagonal monopole antenna with a rectangular slot for Ultra Wide Band (UWB) range is proposed. The proposed antenna is optimized with defected ground plane and a rectangular slot in the center of the radiating patch. A microstrip feed of fifty ohms impedance is used to excite the antenna. VSWR of the proposed antenna is less than two for the entire range. This antenna is useful for WLAN, radar imaging, remote sensing applications.","PeriodicalId":183137,"journal":{"name":"2015 13th International Conference on Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility (INCEMIC)","volume":"181 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121213115","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Measurement of radiated magnetic fields around high voltage pulsed LASER source is taken systematically. Magnetic field vectors are measured at regular intervals in 3-D space.3-D magnetic field lines are obtained by interpolation and plotted for visualization. Mathematical tool utilizing the basic Maxwell's equation is used to anticipate the conduction current density magnitudes responsible for the magnetic field flux lines in 3-D volume of interest. Current density plots show and highlight significant locations contributing to EMI radiations. Signature of the radiated waveform is also recorded using oscilloscope. Near field probe set from EMCO is used for all the measurements and standard simulation code is used for systematic analytical calculation and plotting of the analysis. Details of the experiment, measurement and analysis are elaborated below.","PeriodicalId":183137,"journal":{"name":"2015 13th International Conference on Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility (INCEMIC)","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121479202","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This current target is required to withstand the 30KV Impulse and give a replicate current waveform across a 2.0 Ohms load which is proportional to the Impulse voltage that is generated by the ESD gun. The objective of this standard is to establish a common and reproducible basis for evaluating the performance of electrical and electronic equipment when subjected to electrostatic discharges. Thus consistency in results is of paramount importance. The testing of the indigenously developed Current Target and the Impedance Adaptor also designed and developed in-house have been fabricated as per the standard. The details of the Current Target calibration results are presented in the paper.","PeriodicalId":183137,"journal":{"name":"2015 13th International Conference on Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility (INCEMIC)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122673642","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The circular polarization radiation with compact size can be achieved by replacing sides of the square patch antenna with asymmetrical semi circle fractal curves along x and y axes respectively. A HIS is sandwiched between this patch and the ground plane. The 10-dB return loss bandwidth and 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth for proposed antenna are observed to be 57.26% and 14% respectively from simulations.","PeriodicalId":183137,"journal":{"name":"2015 13th International Conference on Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility (INCEMIC)","volume":"84 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123011154","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The NEMP simulator has been developed to carry out radiated susceptibility RS105 testing as per MIL STD 461E on small size digital equipment. This paper discusses the calibration of the simulator based on the proposed circuit model. A TDR analysis has been carried out to predict the field in the illuminated region under the conical plate based on the pulsed voltage waveform at various positions of the conical plate obtained from the proposed circuit model. The results of the calibration from the simulations based on the proposed circuit model have been validated using the calibration measurements done on the developed NEMP simulator. The simulation data can be used to predict the perturbation of the field due to placement of the Equipment Under Test.","PeriodicalId":183137,"journal":{"name":"2015 13th International Conference on Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility (INCEMIC)","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126215793","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
