It takes skills to meet all the challenges and phenomena of globalization in the 21st century. One of the skills that students need to have is critical thinking skills. This research aims to understand the development of learners' critical thinking skills through STEM-based physics learning on gas kinetic theory material. STEM refers to the four fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics taught in one discipline. This research uses a problem-based learning model, and every aspect of STEM is integrated into the learning tools used in RPP, UKBM, curriculum materials, and worksheets. The research design was a Quasi-Experimental Design using Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The study subjects were students of class XI MIPA 7 and XI MIPA 6 of SMA Negeri 1 Kendal. The development of critical thinking skills was analyzed based on pretests, posttests, and discussion sheet responses. Studi ini difokuskan pada bagaimana keterlaksanaan, rubrik penilaian dan temuan pada saat pelaksanaan eksperimen IPA (Fisika) pada beberapa materi yang telah dilakukan di beberapa sekolah menengah pertama. Tinjauan temuan mulai dari observasi kelas melihat bagaimana guru dan siswa mengalami interaksi sosial untuk mencapai tujuan pembelajaran sampai pada menganalisis hasil temuan (refleksi) untuk membangun masyarakat belajar yang lebih baik. Penelitian akan menghasilkan model eksperimen dan model penilaian yang dipandang dapat memberikan pengalaman yang bermakna bagi siswa dalam kemampuan bereksperimen. metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan atau  Research  and Development  (R&D). Populasi yang digunakan adalah peserta didik SMP di beberapa  sekolah yang berbeda dengan masing-masing kelas melakukan eksperimen dengan judul yang berbeda-beda. Hasil penelitian menunjukan masih perlu adanya upaya tidakan guru selama proses pembelajaran. Hal ini didasarkan pada temuan proses pembelajaran baik yang langsung maupun yang tertulis dalam Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS). Sebagai contoh untuk aspek observasi, Sebagian siswa menuliskan hasil observasinya tidak benar-benar berdasarkan apa yang diamati menggunakan panca indra mereka, melainkan sudah menyinggung materi-materi IPA Fisika berdasarkan pengetahuan awal yang dimiliki masing-masing siswa. Selain itu, siswa belum secara optimal mengungkapkan semua data yang diobservasi.Sebagai upaya tindakan guru dengan cara Mengembangkan pertanyaan arahan untuk melakukan pengamatan berkaitan dengan data yang dapat diobservasi jangan biarkan siswa terlalu menggunakan pengetahuannya untuk mengungkapkan hal yang diobservasi, hal ini penting agar kemampuan observasinya terlatihkan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri 6 Bandung pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2018/2019 pada bulan September dan Oktober tahun 2018. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 35 siswa kelas X MIPA 5 dengan menggunakan rancangan penelitian tindakan kelas sebanyak dua siklus. Pada siklus I untuk indikator membuat gambar sketsa sebesar 57,14% dinyatakan tuntas dan untuk indikator membuat diagram bebas benda sebesar 37,14% dinyatakan tuntas. Pada siklus II untuk indikator membuat gambar sketsa sebesar 77,14% dinyatakan tuntas dan untuk indikator membuat diagram bebas benda sebesar 51,43% dinyatakan tuntas. Kesimpulannya ialah melalui penerapan pembelajaran berbasis masalah dapat meningkatkan kemampuan representasi visual siswa kelas X MIPA 5 pada pembelajaran Hukum Newton. Kata K unci : Hukum Newton, pembelajaran berbasis masalah, penelitian tindakan kelas, representasi visual ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to improve the visual representation ability of students through the application of problem based learning in Law of Newton learning. This study was conducted in the State High School 6 of Bandung in the odd semester of the academic year 2018/2019 in September and Oktober 2018. The subjects for this study were 35 students of X MIPA 5 using a classroom action research design in two cycles. In the cycle I for the indicator of making sketch pictures reached 57,14% and for the indicator of making free body diagrams reached 37,14%. In the cycle II for the indicator of making sketch pictures reached 77,14% and for the indicator of making free body diagrams reached 51,43%. It was concluded that through the application of problem based learning could improve the visual representation ability of students of X MIPA 5 in Law of Newton learning. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu pra eksperimental dengan desain one group pretest-postest. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di salah satu SMP Negeri di Bandung pada kelas IX menggunakan teknik random sampling , dengan memilih satu kelas dari sebelas kelas. Partisipan penelitian melibatkan 26 siswa. Instrumen penelitian berupa kuesioner pemahaman Nature of Science ( NOS). Hasil analisis menggunakan panduan penilaian Das, dkk (2008) dilihat adanya peningkatan pemahaman Nature of Science ( NOS) siswa, dengan adanya 6 dari 7 aspek dari Nature of Science yang mengalami perubahan pemahaman. Pandangan rendah (naif) menjadi pandangan transisi serta dari pandangan transisi menjadi pandangan memadai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penggunaan bahan ajar berbasis Socioscientific Issues dapat meningkatkan pemahaman Nature of Science  siswa. ABSTRA CT The purpose of this study is to see the enhancement of students' understanding of the science of science (NOS) on solar materials through the use of teaching materials based on Socioscientific Issues. The research method used is pre experimental with one group pretest-postest design. This research was conducted in one of Junior High School in Bandung in class IX using random sampling technique, by choosing one class from eleven classes. The study participants involved 26 students. The research instrument is an understanding of Nature of Science (NOS) questionnaire. The results of the analysis using assessment guidance, Das, et al (2008) found an increase in the understanding of the students' Nature of Science (NOS), with 6 from 7 aspects of Nature of Science undergoing change of understanding. A naive view becomes a transitional view and from a transitional perspective to an infromed view. The results show that the use of teaching materials based on Socioscientific Issues can improve the understanding of the students' Nature of Science. Selain itu Content Knowledge  merupakan pengetahuan yang semestinya dikuasai oleh guru yang mencakup fakta, konsep, prinsip, hukum, dan teori. Selain itu CK juga menggambarkan kemampuan guru untuk mengorganisasi materi-materi yang akan diajarkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan profil content knowledge  guru pada materi global warming . Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Subyek pada penelitian ini adalah tiga orang guru SMP yang berasal dari sekolah yang berbeda-beda. Masing – masing guru diminta untuk menguraikan konsep esensial atau big ideas  pada materi Global warming sebagai representasi dari Content Knowledge  guru tersebut. Kemampuan Content knowledge  (CK) guru diukur dengan menggunakan instrument CoRe ( Content Representation ) yang berisi delapan item pertanyaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Content Knowledge (CK) guru berada pada kategori sedang. Kemampuan guru dalam mengimplementasikan CK materi Global warming  berupa pengembangan dan pemilihan tugas, pemilihan representasi dan penjelasan, interpretasi tanggapan siswa, penekanan pada pemahaman siswa dan analisis kesalahan serta kesulitan yang mungkin dialami siswa. Kata kunci : Content Knowledge, CoRe (Content Representation), Global warming Abstract Content knowledge (CK) provides an overview of teacher knowledge about information related to material content taught to students. In addition, Content Knowledge is knowledge that should be mastered by teachers which includes facts, concepts, principles, laws, and theories. In addition CK also describes the ability of teachers to organize the material to be taught. This study aims to provide a profile of teacher content knowledge on global warming material. The method used is descriptive method. The subjects in this study were three junior high school teachers who came from different schools. Each teacher was asked to elaborate on an essential concept or big ideas on the subject of Global Warming as a representation of the teacher's Content Knowledge. The ability of teacher Content knowledge (CK) is measured using the CoRe (Content Representation) instrument which contains eight question items. The results of the study show that the teacher's Content Knowledge (CK) is in the medium category. The ability of teachers to implement CK material Global warming in the form of development and selection of tasks, selection of representations and explanations, interpretation of student responses, emphasis on student understanding and analysis of errors and difficulties that may be experienced by students.
