However, the music individuals listen to is majorly connected the emotions the feel, the situations they are in & the activities they are performing. This research aims at (a)understanding the music preferences of individuals in different situations (b)understanding the music preferences of college going students. The results showed that in situations which involved high-attention work soft and New-Age music was preferred most by the subjects whereas in situations which required low-attention more upbeat & popular music was preferred. The total music preferred the most by the subjects was Pop in most situations.","PeriodicalId":180368,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121956375","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper investigates the relationship between the increasing number of private cars in Bandung and its contribution to global warming. Bandung city population in 2010 was about 2.4 million, and the population density was 1,600. The global warming in Bandung has increased due to the intensive urban activities. Global warming is the warming that happens when certain gases in Earth’s atmosphere trap heat. The main sources of global warming in Bandung are transportation, industry and household. The ever increasing number of cars is proportional to the increasing temperatures that reach 27◦C at night and 30◦ during the day especially in downtown Bandung. My research focused on the private cars heading towards the Ciumbuleit-Cihampelas-Silwangi Junction during a busy Saturday afternoon for a period of 3months to see whether all the car seats are occupied by people, and to check whether all the cars are necessarily required on the road. Less than 20% of the cars were at least half filled with people. About 40% of the cars had only the driver and about 40% of the cars had more than 1 person but less than the half filled car capacity. All the Passengers could comfortably fit in only 60% of the cars. The mean of the data was 2.4 occupants per car where the car capacity ranged from 4 to 6 occupants per car. 50% of the cars were unnecessarily required on the road during the study period.","PeriodicalId":180368,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126048189","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In a situation where fossil energy consumption, pollution, and climate change have all become problems for human societies, the need for a comprehensive review and modification of the building rebirth seems to be essential. This is particularly true given the challenges on today’s global agenda, as renewable energy consumption requires that attention be paid to ideas and construction methods alike. Consequently, analyzing and investigating traditional architecture is one possible solution. Traditional Iranian architecture is a valuable template for the creation of more environmentally friendly buildings. In fact, it can be useful to investigate past experiences for underlying and worthy patterns if there is any hope of creating a better future. Kermanshah is one of the capital cities of Iran and has a rich heritage, valuable historical buildings, ancient civilization, and an architectural identity heavily influenced by the past. This research aims to explore the elements of sustainable architecture outlined by environmental and economic approaches of traditional Iranian buildings in Kermanshah. The cases that are analyzed include the traditional bazaar, holy building and mosque. This research found that Kermanshah has an architectural identity that conforms to the regional climate and environment. It also noted the use of renewable sources as passive strategies in these traditional buildings for energy efficiency, economic efficiency and environmental solution. For example, using domed roofs, introverted building form, dark color, and Ivan, among others, can be listed as some of the sustainable parameters found in Kermanshah traditional buildings.","PeriodicalId":180368,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132568126","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Škorić, Jelena Kuprešanin","doi":"10.20469/ijhss.4.10003-6","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.20469/ijhss.4.10003-6","url":null,"abstract":"This work is primarily concerned with the need for social workers in schools in the Western Balkans whose engagement is only in development and (incontinably) represented. In some regions, the place of social workers in schools has recently been introduced, as well as the (same-named) subject at the university, which represents a significant shift and greatly guides for development of theory and practice of social work. On the other hand, in a large part of these regions, conflicts, instability of socio-economic nature and transition destabilized institutional arrangements and left significant deficits, and raised the question of the development and sustainability of these programs. In view of this, it could be said that the children here are increasingly becoming victims of various social forces that negatively affect their psycho social state, which often reflects on the failure of educational system. Although schools are set up primarily to educate children, it is necessary to pay attention to the psycho social aspects of students. In view of this, the aim of this paper is to point out the need to provide a comprehensive social work service for students, parents, and staff addressing barriers that limit students to utilizing their full potential. Namely, the incorporation of social work into school facilities could also contribute to improving school security policy, identifying different strategies, and early intervention in different spheres to ensure that each student gets the same chance of progress in academic and social context. In view of this, the paper used qualitative documents analysis to evaluate and analyze relevant and available documents in order to determine the situation and differences in school social workers in these countries. At the end of this work, there was left space for discussion about the needs for fundamental changes in the educational system and putting a greater emphasis on social workers.","PeriodicalId":180368,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133095837","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
