This assumption holds true for low voltage high switching frequency needs, but as power or voltage requirements increase, having a high switching frequency can result in high switching losses, necessitating the use of a PWM inverting technique that can efficiently work with low switching frequencies. This paper examines several possible versions of sine PWM algorithms for low-frequency applications, focusing on their fundamental frequency content and total harmonic distortion. A comparison is made for inverters (utilising Pure sine wave as a reference and stepped sine wave as a reference) with existing and proposed method taking the cases of scaled and non-scaled. With the thorough analysis of all the cases, A stepped sine methodology Sine Averaging and Duty Ratio Approach that offers comparatively better results than existing techniques has been proposed.","PeriodicalId":178962,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 9th International Conference on e-Learning in Industrial Electronics (ICELIE)","volume":"177 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120939329","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This allows for flexible integration into online courses, and the tasks performed by students can be monitored and evaluated. Mechatronics is complex field, and it is very difficult for first-year students to learn this approach. In the case of senior students, the practical implementation of the knowledge they have already acquired must be presented alongside the transfer of new knowledge. According to this, the system allows the implementation of open and closed control tasks ranging from setting constant or variable torque, PID and optimal state space control to robust sliding mode control. The developed system can be used in education for more than 5 years of bachelor and master studies and meets the challenges of modern engineering education in the 21st century.","PeriodicalId":178962,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 9th International Conference on e-Learning in Industrial Electronics (ICELIE)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131737405","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The class connects the knowledge from other classes, handling mathematical modeling and design of control systems, and shows how to implement a model of such a system in real time, where the plant model runs in simulation, Hardware in the Loop (HiL), and the controller runs on real hardware. In the presented class, the Nucleo STM32F767ZI board is used as the HW controller. Part of the tasks is to find and explain the differences between pure simulation and simulation in real time and also to visualize the plant. Robotics education enables to address a variety of domains in STEM. A lot of commercial, closed and expensive robotic solutions for different age categories are on the market on the one hand, which are not accessible to small schools. On the other hand, a lot of small, mostly ad hoc, initiatives have been put forward, focusing on a particular age category and/or being limited in potential applications. In this paper, we explain a low cost modular solution to address several aspects in STEM education with a final robotics application as end result for different grades and levels going from 6 years up to 99 years, relying on available well known open source tools and technologies.","PeriodicalId":178962,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 9th International Conference on e-Learning in Industrial Electronics (ICELIE)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124095103","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, this style of lecture course tends to lack real-time communication and feedback from the students, which makes it difficult for the teachers to orient the students' attention to the topics of the lecture. This paper addresses this difficulty in the field of power electronics by proposing a teaching method for the on-demand video streaming lecture course on practical electric power circuit design. In this method, the education video of each class presents an experiment of an actual electric power circuit and then assigns the report proposing the best design for the homework. By sharing the practical design considerations among the students, this method encourages the students to imagine the professional work of the circuit design engineers and to learn the professional circuit design skill. Along with the basic concept of this teaching method, this paper also presents an actual teaching course designed according to the teaching method as well as the students' impressions answered by the questionnaire survey. The majority of the students agreed on the positive effect of this teaching method to motivate the students, suggesting the effectiveness of this teaching method.","PeriodicalId":178962,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 9th International Conference on e-Learning in Industrial Electronics (ICELIE)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117127989","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its foundation is the open source Jupyter Notebook project with a web application providing an online environment for various programming purposes. These Jupyter Notebooks have evolved into the JupyterHub project. JupyterHub enables multi-user capabilities and allows students and researchers to have their individual Notebook environments hosted on an online platform. This paper presents our experiences with JupyterHub together with nbgrader, which allows the creation and grading of assignments. This powerful educational SaaS solution has been validated for multiple programming related courses, such as Python, C, C# and Java, throughout the past two academic years. Feedback from students and academic personnel is positive. JupyterHub is currently actively developed for deployment on the popular cloud-based Kubernetes container orchestrator platform, providing nearly infinite cloud-based scaling potential. This open source platform-as-a-service (PaaS) solution can be consumed from various public cloud providers, or it can be set up on-premise. We introduce the means to do the latter on a data center within the university.","PeriodicalId":178962,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 9th International Conference on e-Learning in Industrial Electronics (ICELIE)","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126497168","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The end-effector of the surgical robot, where the surgical tools have been attached, requires high-end precision. Most commercial surgical robotic systems calculate the real-time force by using traditional force sensors which encounters hindrance like lack of expected response (advance control), limited bandwidth, and requirement of force for its own operation. The paper introduces a Disturbance observer (DOB) based Reaction Torque observer (RTOB) as the sensor for the real-time gravity torque sensing in biomedical applications, with a focus on surgical robots. In order to enable both professional engineers and students with a limited understanding of control to use the article, mathematical complications are kept to a minimum.","PeriodicalId":178962,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 9th International Conference on e-Learning in Industrial Electronics (ICELIE)","volume":"478 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116011031","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
