Plants are one potential source of medicine. One of them is Lichen Usnea sp., which is used by the community to treat several diseases, so further research is needed to study the chemical composition contained and other potentials of this plant. Research on the chemical constituent of Lichen Usnea sp. consists of various stages: sample preparation, maceration using methanol, fractionation by Vacum Liquid Chromatography (VLC) and radial chromatography guided by Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) eluting with n-hexane, chloroform and ethyl acetate obtaining an isolated compound. The isolated compound was analyzed by various spectroscopic data (UV-Vis, FT-IR, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR). Asal Ciwidey, Jawa BaratIndonesia adalah negara tropis dengan banyaknya spesies tumbuhan. Tumbuhan adalah salah satu sumber bahan baku yang potensial untuk obat–obatan. Salah satunya Lichen Usnea sp. yang digunakan masyarakat dalam pengobatan beberapa penyakit, sehingga diperlukan penelitian lebih lanjut untuk mengetahui senyawa kimia yang terkandung dan potensi lainnya dari tanaman ini. Penelitian kandungan kimia dari Lichen Usnea sp. asal Ciwidey, Jawa Barat, terdiri dari berbagai tahapan, yaitu, persiapan sampel, maserasi dengan pelarut metanol, fraksinasi dan pemurnian dengan metode Kromatografi Cair Vakum (KCV) dan kromatografi radial yang dipandu dengan Kromatografi Lapis Tipis (KLT) dengan eluen n-heksana, kloroform dan etil asetat dan menghasilkan satu senyawa. Senyawa yang diperoleh tersebut dianalisis dengan berbagai data spektroskopi (UV, IR, 1H-NMR, dan 13C-NMR). Therefore, this research aims to determine the relationship between the percentage of solar radiation under the shade of stand on the growth of cardamom, and to estimate the percentage of solar radiation that affects the optimum growth of cardamom. The research was conducted in 5 farmer-cultivated areas planted with cardamom in Tahura Wan Abdul Rachman. In each farmer's arable area, 3 plots of 5 m x 5 m were made, which were placed randomly to observe the growth of cardamom. The data collected includes: growth of cardamom, tree species that make up forest garden stands, solar radiation under the shade or in the open, air temperature, and humidity. The data were analyzed by quadratic regression at the 5% significance level. The results showed that the difference in the shade of stands had a significant effect on the growth of cardamom. All cardamom growth variables were significantly correlated with the percentage of solar radiation under the shade of stand. The optimal number of stems is 49.5 stems at a percentage of 63% solar radiation. The optimal plant height of 146.74 cm at a percentage of 67% solar radiation. The optimal number of leaves per clump is 235.296 leaves at 60% solar radiation percentage. The number of flower bunches per cluster is optimal as much as 23.4 bunches at the percentage of solar radiation 60.5 %. The optimal number of fruits per fruit bunch is 8.7 fruits at the percentage of solar radiation 56 %. Thus, cardamom plants will grow optimally under the shade of the standing canopy with a percentage of solar radiation from 56% to 67%.Keywords:  cardamom;  forest gardens;  growth;  shade; standABSTRAKHubungan Persentase Radiasi Matahari di Bawah Naungan Tajuk Tegakan dengan Pertumbuhan KapulagaKapulaga dapat hidup di bawah naungan tegakan, akan tetapi membutuhkan naungan yang memadai untuk pertumbuhan optimal.  Oleh karena itu, penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan persentase radiasi matahari di bawah naungan tegakan kebun hutan dengan pertumbuhan kapulaga, serta mengestimasi persentase radiasi matahari yang berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan optimum kapulaga. Penelitian dilakukan di 5 areal garapan petani yang ditanami kapulaga dalam Tahura Wan Abdul Rachman. Data yang dihimpun meliputi: pertumbuhan kapulaga,  jenis pohon penyusun tegakan kebun hutan, radiasi matahari di bawah naungan maupun di tempat terbuka, temperatur udara, dan kelembapan udara. Data dianalisis regresi kuadratik pada taraf nyata 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan naungan tegakan kebun hutan berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan kapulaga. Semua variabel pertumbuhan kapulaga berhubungan nyata secara kuadratik dengan persentase radiasi matahari di bawah naungan tegakan. Birds are an important indicator of environmental quality, so their existence needs to be preserved. This research aims to find the urgency of bird conservation in Jakabaring Sport City based on community’s perception. Interviews were conducted with 30 respondents. The study's results stated that 92% of the community said the presence of birds was very important because the attraction was in the form of singing and feather colour, but 83% of the people did not understand the existence of protected birds. Burung merupakan indikator penting dalam mengukur suatu kualitas lingkungan sehingga keberadaannya perlu dilestarikan.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi persepsi masyarakat mengenai keberadaan burung di Jakabaring Sport City serta urgensi konservasinya.  Wawancara dilakukan pada 30 responden. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa 92% masyarakat mengatakan keberadaan burung sangat penting, karena daya tariknya berupa kicauan, warna bulu, namun 83% masyarakat tidak memahami akan adanya burung yang dilindungi. The use of chemical compounds for dandruff is very limited and can cause side effects, such as toxicity to the eyes and hair becoming too dry. The consortium of herbal plants was hope had greater inhibitory activity than the single plants. The purpose of this study was to determine the antifungal effectiveness of a consortium of herbs (soursop leaves, basil leaves, bay leaves and green betel leaves) in a 1:1:1:1 ratio against Pytirosporum ovale. Extraction method using maceration method and 70% ethanol solvent. The extract of the herbal consortium was made in series with concentrations of 10, 25, 40, 55 and 70%, a negative control and a positive control by disc diffusion method. Data analysis using Post Hoc LSD test, correlation, and linear regression. The results showed that all concentrations of extract of the herbal consortium could inhibit the activity of the fungus Pytirosporum ovale. The minimum inhibitory concentration was at a concentration of 10% with a diameter of 7.33 mm while the optimum inhibitory at a concentration of 70% with a diameter of 15.55 mm. The inhibition zone diameter in positive control of 24.66 mm. The results of the correlation test show a very strong and unidirectional relationship. The results of the linear regression test obtained the value of y=0.138x+5.889. The diameter of the fungal inhibition zone was influenced by the extract concentration of 99.99% (r2=0.9999), the remaining 0.01% was influenced by other factors such as temperature, radiation, light, humidity, pH and others. Efforts to save germplasm ex-situ through taro conservation in vitro can be a backup for existing collections in the field. The activity was carried out at the in vitro conservation laboratory of the genetic resource management research group, the Bogor Institute for Research and Development of Biotechnology and Agricultural Genetic Resources (BB Biogen). A total of 15 accessions were used as explant material for sterilization, explants were grown on MS media, and then at 10 DAP, the percentage of live, contaminated, and dead explants was observed. The average sterile explants in all accessions were 34.01%, contaminated explants were 65.08%, and dead explants were 0.91%. Multiplication was carried out by subculture of the two most plantlets into the propagation medium, namely: (1) control MS, (2) MS + Thidiazuron 0.25 ppm, (3) MS + Thidiazuron 0.5 ppm, (4) MS + Thidiazuron 2 ppm, (5) MS + BA 0.5 ppm, (6) MS + BA 1 ppm, and (7) MS + BA 3 ppm. Upaya penyelamatan plasma nutfah secara ex situ melalui konservasi talas melalui in vitro dapat menjadi cadangan (back up) koleksi yang ada di lapang. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Laboratorium konservasi in vitro kelompok peneliti Pengelolaan Sumber Daya Genetik, Balai Besar Penelitian dan Pengembangan Bioteknologi dan Sumber Daya Genetik Pertanian (BB Biogen) Bogor. Sebanyak 15 aksesi digunakan sebagai materi eksplan untuk di sterilisasi, eksplan ditanam pada media MS, dan kemudian pada 10 HST diamati persentase eksplan yang hidup, terkontaminasi, dan mati. Rata–rata eksplan steril pada seluruh aksesi sebanyak 34,01%, eksplan terkontaminasi 65,08%, sedangkan eskplan yang mati sebanyak 0,91%. Multiplikasi dilakukan dengan subkultur terhadap dua planlet terbanyak ke dalam media perbanyakan, yaitu : (1) MS kontrol, (2) MS + Thidiazuron 0,25 ppm, (3) MS + Thidiazuron 0,5 ppm, (4) MS + Thidiazuron 2 ppm, (5) MS + BA 0,5 ppm, (6) MS + BA 1 ppm, dan (7) MS + BA 3 ppm. Efforts to prevent this disease are carried out by using insecticides to reduce the spread of the Aedes aegypti mosquito as a disease vector. However, the continuous use of synthetic insecticides for a relatively long time can cause various environmental problems and cause mosquitoes to become resistant. Therefore, it is preferable to use natural insecticides derived from plants with the same effectiveness as ovicides. The content of essential oils and secondary metabolites, such as alkaloids, flavonoids and saponins in pepper plants (Piper nigrum L.), is known to act as an insecticide. This study aims to determine the ovicidal mosquito Ae. aegypti by pepper leaf extract (P. nigrum L.). This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 variations of extract concentration (0% (control); 0.40%; 0.60%; 0.80%; 1.00%) and four replications for each treatment. Data analysis was carried out using one way ANOVA and post hoc LSD statistical tests. Significantly different results (p<0.05) were obtained, indicating a different effect between control and treatment with variations in extract concentration on mosquito eggs. The concentration of the extract with the most potential as an ovicidal mosquito Ae. aegypti is 1.20%.Keywords:  Ae. aegypti;  pepper leaf; ovicideABSTRAKPotensi Ekstrak Etanol Daun Lada (Piper nigrum L.) sebagai Ovisida Nyamuk Aedes aegyptiDemam Berdarah Dengue (DBD) mengalami peningkatan jumlah infeksi hampir setiap tahun di Indonesia. Upaya pencegahan penyakit ini, dilakukan dengan menggunakan insektisida untuk mengurangi persebaran nyamuk Aedes aegypti sebagai vektor penyakit. Namun penggunaan insektisida sintetik secara kontinu pada waktu yang relatif lama, dapat memunculkan berbagai permasalahan pada lingkungan dan menyebabkan nyamuk menjadi resisten. Oleh karena itu, lebih disarankan penggunaan insektisida alami yang berasal dari tumbuhan dengan efektivitas yang sama sebagai ovisida. Kandungan minyak atsiri dan senyawa metabolit sekunder seperti alkaloid, flavonoid dan saponin yang ada pada tanaman lada (Piper nigrum L.), diketahui dapat berperan sebagai insektisida. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan ovisida nyamuk Ae. aegypti oleh ekstrak daun lada (P. nigrum L.). Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 6 variasi konsentrasi ekstrak (0% (kontrol); 0,40%; 0,60%; 0,80%;, 1,00%) dan empat kali ulangan untuk setiap perlakuan. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji statistik one way ANOVA dan post hoc LSD. Hasil beda nyata (p<0,05) yang didapatkan menunjukkan adanya pengaruh yang berbeda antara control dengan perlakuan variasi konsentrasi ekstrak terhadap telur nyamuk. Gingerol, shogaol, and paradol are some of the most bioactive compounds found in ginger. Several studies have been conducted to isolate the bioactive compounds. However, a study about simultaneous isolation with a fast and effective methodology has yet to be found in Indonesia. Therefore, this study aimed to simultaneously isolate the bioactive compounds such as 6-gingerol, 6-shogaol, and 6-paradol in ginger using Vacuum Liquid Chromatography (VLC). Etil acetate (EA) fraction from the ginger crude extract was treated with VLC using a mix of hexane-EA as a mobile phase to gain the isolates, and then it was purified using HPLC semi-prep. 6-gingerol and 6-shogaol were found in the fraction of VLC 80% hexane. Meanwhile, 6-paradol was found in the fraction VLC 90% hexane. Further isolation of each compound was conducted using semi-prep HPLC. LC-MS was used to confirm the molecular weight of each isolate compared to the literature. Gingerol, shogaol, dan paradol adalah beberapa jenis senyawa aktif yang umumnya dapat ditemukan pada tanaman ini. Sejumlah penelitian telah dilakukan untuk proses isolasi senyawa tersebut. Akan tetapi, di Indonesia, isolasi senyawa tersebut belum dilakukan secara simultan dan efektif. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan isolasi senyawa aktif 6-gingerol, 6-shogaol, dan 6-paradol secara simultan menggunakan metode Vaccum Liquid Chromatography (VLC). Fraksi etil asetat dari ekstrak jahe di VLC dengan campuran perlarut heksan-etil asetat (EA) untuk memperoleh isolat senyawa dan kemudian dimurnikan dengan menggunakan HPLC semi-prep. Pada hasil VLC 80 % heksana didapatkan senyawa 6-gingerol dan 6-shogaol. Sementara senyawa 6-paradol didapatkan pada VLC 90 % heksana. Selanjutnya, konfirmasi berat molekul senyawa dilakukan menggunakan LC-MS untuk mecocokkan dengan literatur yang sudah ada. This disease is caused by infection with the Aedes aegypti mosquito. The high number of dengue cases is the reason for monitoring and controlling vector density. Ovitrap placement can be a way to describe the density of eggs in the area so that preventive measures can be more effective. In addition to laying ovitrap, chemical larvicides in the form of temephos (abate) are also used to control dengue vectors. Continuous use of temephos can cause vectors to experience resistance. This study aimed to know the density of mosquito eggs, ovitrap index, and the effect of temephos (abate) on the resistance status of Ae. aegypti larvae. The study was conducted by counting the number of eggs in the ovitrap laid for seven days indoors and outdoors. The larval susceptibility test was carried out using the third instar larvae resulting from the rearing of eggs obtained from the laying of ovitraps. The Third instar larvae were tested using temephos with a concentration of 0.02 mg/L for 1 hour with four replications and then observed and counted after 24 hours. The results of this study showed that the density of mosquito eggs in Rajabasa Raya Village was 0.05 eggs/mL, the ovitrap index was 68.9%, and the susceptibility test was categorized as vulnerable because the larvae died 100%.Keywords: Ae. aegypti; Vector; Ovitrap; Vulnerability; TemephosABSTRAKKepadatan Telur pada Ovitrap dan Pengaruh Temephos (Abate) Terhadap Kerentanan Larva Nyamuk Aedes aegypti di Kelurahan Rajabasa Raya Kota Bandar LampungBandar Lampung menjadi kota di Provinsi Lampung yang memiliki kasus demam berdarah dengue (DBD) yang tinggi. Penyakit ini diakibatkan oleh adanya infeksi nyamuk Aedes aegypti. Kasus DBD yang tinggi menjadi alasan untuk dilakukannya pemantauan dan pengendalian kepadatan vektor. Peletakkan ovitrap dapat menjadi cara untuk menggambarkan kepadatan telur di wilayah tersebut sehingga tindakan pencegahan yang dilakukan dapat lebih efektif. Selain peletakkan ovitrap, larvasida kimia berupa temephos (abate) juga digunakan sebagai cara pengendalian vektor DBD.  Penggunaan temephos secara berkelanjutan dapat menyebabkan vector mengalami resistensi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui kepadatan telur nyamuk, indeks ovitrap, dan pengaruh temephos (abate) terhadap status resistensi larva Ae.aegypti. This pigment was extracted from turmeric rhizomes using ethanol as a solvent. The purpose of this study was to examine the application of turmeric rhizome pigment extract (TRPE) as an indicator to determine the concentration of H+, the precision and accuracy of the use of TRPE as an indicator of acid base titration. As a comparison, in this study used also a standard indicator, such as phenolphthalein (PP) and methyl red (MR). Titration was carried out on samples without spike and spike samples. The result showed that the rendement of TRPE was 35.72%. The concentration of H+ on the sample without spikes in the titration of strong acid-strong base (SASB) and strong acid-weak base (SAWB) using TRPE, PP and MR indicators gave the same result, namely 0.041 M. The concentration of H+ on spike samples in SASB and SAWB titrations using TRPE, PP and MM indicators gave the same result, namely 0.165 M. The use of TRPE in the titration of SASB, SAWB, weak acid-strong base (WASB) and weak acid-weak base (WAWB) provided good precision with the coefficient of variation (CV) obtained in the titration of samples without spikes and titrations of spike samples, respectively are 1.2% and 0.35%, but only give good accuracy in SASB and SAWB titration with the recovery in the range of 102.3%-102.7%.Keywords: accuracy; acid base; precision; titration; turmeric ABSTRAKAplikasi Pigmen Rimpang Kunyit Sebagai Indikator Titrasi Asam-BasaRimpang kunyit merupakan salah satu sumber pigmen kuning alami yang dapat diaplikasikan sebagai indikator pH. Pigmen ini diperoleh dengan cara mengekstraksinya dari rimpang kunyit menggunakan pelarut etanol. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk  mengkaji aplikasi ekstrak pigmen rimpang kunyit (EPRK) sebagai indikator untuk menentukan konsentrasi H+ dalam sampel, presisi dan akurasi dari penggunaan EPRK sebagai indikator titrasi asam basa. Sebagai pembanding maka dalam penelitian ini digunakan pula indikator standar yakni fenolftalin (PP) dan metil merah (MM). Titrasi dilakukan terhadap sampel tanpa spike dan sampel spike. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh rendemen EPRK sebanyak 35,72%. This study aimed to analyze the four genotypes of the crossing parents using SSR primers and select one SSR polymorphic primer to confirm the F1 generation alleles compared to their parents. The research was conducted in the laboratory and greenhouse of the Indonesian Center for Agricultural Biotechnology and Genetic Resources Research and Development (ICABIOGRAD). The research activities included a polymorphic primers survey, population formation, and confirmation of crossing populations using one polymorphic primer. A total of 20 SSR primers were used to amplify the DNA of the four crossing parents (Biosoy 1, Biosoy 2, Demas, and Tanggamus). The results of the polymorphic SSR survey showed that 6 SSR primers could distinguish the combination of Biosoy 2 vs Demas parents, then 7 SSR primers could distinguish the combination of Biosoy 1 vs Tanggamus and Biosoy 2 vs Tanggamus parents. Satt 406 polymorphic primer was chosen to analyze F1 hybrid lines of three crossings. Based on phenotypic observation, two individuals were suspected to be hybrid lines. Molecular analysis using Satt 406 showed that alleles from male parents were not found in 16 F1 individuals from the three crossings. Selection using molecular markers such as Satt 406 polymorphic SSR can help breeders screen heterozygous populations in F1 generations to check successful crossings.Keywords: biosoy 1; biosoy 2; Demas; Tanggamus; Al tolerance; SSR markers ABSTRAKPenentuan Tetua Berbasis Analisis Molekuler Untuk Pembentukan Galur KedelaiKedelai merupakan komoditas pangan penting ketiga di Indonesia yang dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber protein yang murah dan kaya berbagai kandungan gizi bagi manusia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk untuk menganalisis 4 genotip tetua persilangan menggunakan primer SSR dan memilih satu primer polimorfik SSR untuk mengonfirmasi alel-alel generasi F1 dibandingkan dengan para tetuanya. Penelitian dilakukan di laboratorium dan rumah kaca Balai Besar Penelitian dan Pengembangan Bioteknologi dan Sumber Daya Genetik Pertanian (BB Biogen). Kegiatan penelitian terdiri dari survei primer polimorfik, pembentukan populasi, dan konfirmasi populasi persilangan menggunakan satu primer polimorfik. Sebanyak 20 primer SSR digunakan untuk mengamplifikasi DNA dari empat tetua persilangan kedelai (Biosoy 1, Biosoy 2, Demas, dan Tanggamus).
