Juss.) are often used as traditional medicine because they contain bioactive compounds such as azadirachtin, nimbidin and nimbolides. Consumption of traditional medicines for long periods can cause side effect on kidney. This study aims to find out the histological structure of glomerular and proximal tubular in the male mice (Mus musculus L.) kidneys after exposure to the ethanolic of neem leaves extract. Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consists of 2 treatment groups with 15 replications was used in this study. The first group is K (only treated with aquadest) and P group (treated by ethanolic neem leaves extrcat at the dosage 14 mg/ kg body weight). The treatment were given orally with a volume of 0.2 mL for 21 days. Feeding and drinking were carried out ad-libitum. At the 22 days, kidney was isolated, weighted and made for histological processed with 5 μm in thickness using paraffin method with Hematoxylin and Eosin staining. The variables observed in this study were kidney weight, water consumption, glomerular diameter, thick of Bowman capsule, diameter of proximal tubule and lumen diameter. Data were analyzed using the t test with a confidence level of 95%. The results of the analysis showed that the treatment has no significant effect (p> 0.05) to kidney weight, water consumption, glomerular diameter, thick of Bowman capsule, diameter of proximal tubules and lumen diameter. Siklus hidup ayam kampung cepat dengan indikator pertumbuhan dapat dilihat dari pertumbuhan tulangnya. Parameter pertumbuhan ayam salah satunya berasal dari perhitungan hasil pengukuran jarak antar tulang atau sendi. Salah satu bagian yang penting untuk diukur yaitu toraks ayam karena dada adalah salah satu bagian karkas ayam yang mengandung banyak daging. Lingkar, lebar, dan panjang dada pada ayam dapat digunakan untuk menaksir berat daging pada ayam. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui panjang tulang dada ayam pada fase pertumbuhan, mulai dari pre-starter sampai ke fase grower. Pengukuran tulang toraks meliputi bagian clavicula, sternum, coracoid, scapula, vertebrae, dan costae menggunakan kaliper dan jangka sorong. Data hasil pengukuran tulang toraks kemudian dianalisis menggunakan metode one-way ANOVA dan Uji Duncan, dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95% (α = 0,05) menggunakan Microsoft Excel dan IBM SPSS Statistics 25. Laju pertumbuhan tulang sternum, coracoid, scapula dan costae mengalami peningkatan pesat sampai minggu ke-5 kemudian mengalami penurunan mulai minggu ke 7. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh antioksidan pada salep simplisia daun kembang sepatu (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L.) terhadap profil hematologi tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) setelah paparan UV. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan metode rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan sampel 30 ekor tikus putih galur wistar berjenis kelamin betina (100-150 gram) dibagi menjadi 6 perlakuan yang setiap kelompok terdiri dari 5 ekor tikus, yaitu (P0) sampel kontrol negatif tanpa diberi salep dan paparan UV, (P1) sampel kontrol positif tanpa diberi salep dan hanya dipapar UV, dan (P2, P3, P4, dan P5) sampel dengan pemberian salep simplisia daun kembang sepatu masing-masing dengan konsentrasi 10%, 20%, 30%, dan 40% secara topikal pada punggung yang sudah dicukur terlebih dahulu seluas 16 cm2 , kemudian dipapar UV. Spesimen darah diambil satu hari setelah perlakuan melalui vena orbitalis, selanjutnya dilakukan uji hematologi lengkap untuk mengetahui jumlah eritrosit (RBC), nilai hematokrit (HCT), kadar hemoglobin (Hb), dan jumlah leukosit (WBC). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian salep simplisia daun kembang sepatu dapat mempertahankan jumlah RBC, nilai HCT, kadar Hb, dan jumlah WBC pada tikus kelompok perlakuan (P2, P3, P4, dan P5) dengan konsentrasi simplisia daun kembang sepatu (10%, 20%, 30%, dan 40%) menunjukkan hasil yang tidak berbeda signifikan (P>0,05) terhadap tikus perlakuan kontrol negatif (P0). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui protozoa gastrointestinal yang menginfeksi orangutan sumatera (Pongo abelii) dan orangutan kalimantan (Pongo pygmaeus) yang berada di Taman Satwa Sumatera Utara serta protozoa dari genus apa saja yang menginfeksi orangutan tersebut. Sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan sampel feses yang didapat dari 1 individu orangutan sumatera dan 2 individu orangutan kalimantan. Sampel diambil tiga kali dalam kurun waktu yang berbeda dengan interval 3 minggu. Sampel feses diambil pada pagi hari kemudian ditambahkan dengan formalin 10% dengan perbandingan 1:1. Pemeriksaan sampel dengan menggunakan metode floatasi, metode modified Ziehl-Neelsen, dan metode sedimentasi formol-eter. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 2 dari 3 orangutan di Taman Satwa Sumatera Utara positif terinfeksi protozoa gastrointestinal. The use of al aiming reduction forceps in the installation of toogling rode is an alternative method that can be further developed for handling CFD without osteotomy of the femoral head (FHO). The combination among good action, appropriate treatment and rehabilitation therapy could be ideal step for better recovery of patients with CFD. Complete recovery in this case occurred at 4 months postoperatively, and the dog is currently in normal condition, able to stand and walk very well. ExPEC is a pathogenic E. coli that causes colibacillosis outside the gastrointestinal tract of poultry, in the form of peritonitis, pericarditis, salpingitis, synovitis, osteomyelitis, septicemia, pneumonitis, nephritis, pleurisy, proventriculitis and ventriculitis. In poultry farming antibiotics are used to promote growth and egg production, prevention and treatment of bacterial infections. Antibiotic resistance is a new problem that arises in poultry farming. In this study, 24 isolates of ExPEC strain from quail were used. These isolates did not differentiate sorbitol in the MacConkey (SMAC) sorbitol test assay. Antibiotic resistance was tested based on the inhibition of bacterial growth on Muller Hinnton Agar (MHA) media. 10 types of antibiotics were used to observe their resistance in all isolates. Resistance to Amikacin (87.5%), Ampicillin (87.5%), Ciprofloxacin (100%), Clindamycin (95.83%), Cefoxacin (25.0%), Doxycycline (87.5%), Erythromycin (100%), Gentamicin (95.83%), Penicillin (95.83%) and Tetracycline (83.3%). The isolates had multidrug-resistance between 3 to 10 types of antibiotics. This study showed that ExPEC isolates from quail were resistant to the type of antibiotics tested, so that the use of antibiotics in quail culture should be limited to reduce and prevent the emergence of new antibiotic resistance. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui calving interval sapi Jabres di kabupaten Brebes. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei dengan purposive sampling. Data diolah secara statistik menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Data disajikan dengan nilai rata-rata ± standar deviasi. Sampel data diambil dari catatan penampilan reproduksi dari 90 ekor sapi Jabres. Hasil analisis pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa calving interval sapi Jawa Brebes di desa Pangerasan Kecamatan Bantarkawung Kabupaten Brebes pada umur 3-5 tahun sebesar 399,2±8,5 hari, umur 6-8 tahun sebesar 416,1±11,0 hari, dan umur lebih dari 9 tahun sebesar 408,0±12,6 hari. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 57 ekor sapi Bali yang disembelih di 5 masjid di Kabupaten Manokwari yang menyelenggarakan penyembelihan hewan kurban. Pengamatan tata cara pemisahan dan handling sapi dilakukan dengan observasi. Waktu henti darah memancar dihitung sejak awal darah memancar sampai tidak lagi memancar. Indikator kematian lain (refleks pupil, refleks kornea, pernafasan ritmik, tonus rahang, tonus lidah, refleks ekor, refleks anus, dan refleks tracak) dihitung setelah waktu henti darah memancar diperoleh. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif. Data henti darah memancar dihitung rerata dan simpangan bakunya, sedangkan indikator lain disajikan dengan range tiap menit dalam tabel. Pemisahan antara lokasi penempatan dengan penyembelihan dan penggunaan kandang jepit modifikasi untuk handling telah dilakukan disebagian besar lokasi pengamatan. Waktu henti darah memancar pada penelitian ini adalah 2,93 menit. Refleks kornea dan tonus lidah merupakan indikator tercepat yang hilang, yaitu 4-5 menit setelah darah berhenti memancar, kemudian berturut-turut diikuti dengan pernafasan ritmik dan tonus rahang, yaitu masing-masing 5-6 menit serta refleks ekor dan refleks tracak, yaitu 6-7 menit. Refleks anus merupakan indikator terlama yang hilang, yaitu 7-8 menit setelah darah berhenti memancar. Kesimpulan: sebagain besar masjid telah memperhatikan kesejahteraan hewan berdasarkan lokasi dan tata cara penyembelihan. Cases of ND in Indonesia have been reported in commercial and backyard chickens, pigeons, ducks and geese, even in eagles and peacocks. Peacock is a wild bird protected by Indonesia's Government Regulation No. 7 of 1999. This study aims to identify, isolate and characterize the NDV molecularly in cases diagnosed as ND in peacocks. Method: Samples were obtained from organs (lungs and spleen) of peacocks which showed neurological symptoms, diarrhoea and then died. Real-time RT-PCR ND was used to identify the cause of death of the peacock. Virus isolation and observation of embryonic changes and death were carried out on embryonic chicken eggs. Sequencing was carried out to characterize the F and HN entire genes of the NDV. The nucleotide sequences were analyzed using MEGA-X software, including amino acid prediction, analysis of genetic variation at the amino acid level, homology and construction of the phylogenic tree. Result: The results of the sample identification were positive for the Newcastle disease virus. Observations of chicken embryos are stunted, have few feathers, are haemorrhagic, and die in less than 60 hours. Virus isolation was obtained with a titer of 26. Molecular analysis showed that the RRQKRF cleavage site pattern in the F gene had homology of 95.8-97.6% and was in the same branching area as the previous ND virus in Indonesia. There were no amino acid mutations at the antigenic site, glycolysis and neutralization epitopes in the HN gene. Conclusion: The virus isolated from the peacock is a velogenic strain of NDV, subgenotype VII.2 and has a close genetic range to the NDV that has been previously reported in commercial and domestic poultry. Sutrisno","doi":"10.22146/jsv.62689","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.22146/jsv.62689","url":null,"abstract":"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat model inflamasi kulit pada punggung mencit betina galur Swiss dengan menggunakan karagenin dengan berbagai konsentrasi. Pada penelitian ini akan digunakan 45 ekor mencit  betina galur Swiss umur 2 bulan yang dibagi dalam tiga kelompok secara acak. Kelompok I diberi karagenin  1%. Kelompok II diberi karagenin 2%, dan kelompok III diberi karagenin 4%. Induksi inflamasi dengan karagenin dilakukan melalui injeksi sub kutan karagenin dengan volume 0,1 mL pada kulit punggung mencit.  Sebelum dilakukan injeksi karagenin tebal lipat kulit (skin-fold thickness) diukur dengan menggunakan jangka sorong digital. Selanjutnya setiap jam setelah injeksi sampai dengan jam ke- 6 pasca injeksi. Hewan coba selanjutnya dietanasi dengan cara dislokasi servikalis pada akhir jam ke-6. Organ kulit diambil dengan memotong kulit pada area dimana injeksi karagenin dilakukan dan selanjutnya diawetkan dengan formalin 10% untuk pemeriksaan histopatologis dengan pewarnaan hematoxylin eosin. Analisis data tebal lipat kulit dianalisis dengan Two Ways Anova dan diikuti dengan post hoc test Tukey test. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan  ada perbedaan bermakna pada tebal lipat kulit antar kelompok perlakuan (p<0,05). Injeksi subkutaneuos karagenin 1%, 2% dan 4% meningkatkan tebal lipat kulit sebesar 35%, 50% dan 60% pada jam pertama pasca injeksi (p<0,05). Inflamasi mild dan moderate  pada bagian dermis ditemukan pasca injeksi karagenin 1% dan 2%. Infamasi severe pada bagian dermis dan panikulus ditemukan pasca injeksi karagenin 4%.
