Remote Sensing satellite can provide greater monitoring scale compared to ground equipment. Based on NASA MODerate resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MODIS) data, using .NET multi-layer architecture, combined with MatlabCOM, ArcEngine and other components, we establish Air Quality Remote Sensing Monitoring System and discuss the roles and design criteria of each component layer. To solve Aerosol Optical Thickness (AOT) retrieval time consuming problem, we use a Master-Worker strategy to parallelize the Dense Dark Vegetation (DDV) algorithm , it is running on a common platform of computer clusters and based on cloud mask to distribute task . Through the acceleration performance analysis, it has shown preferable speedup radio and load balance. Finally, this paper verifies some results from Beijing Olympic atmosphere monitoring project.","PeriodicalId":176934,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Signal Acquisition and Processing","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114492891","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

EDS(Event Driven Service) is a typical convergence service conducting convergence between services owned by various SPs(Service Providers). By this way, EDS enables the provision of converged content services, and finally various user-oriented services to users are available. This paper explains fundamental structures and major functions for constructing a EDS system, and we constructed a pilot EDS system for implementing a EDS system. That is, we experimented the EDS system by launching KOREN between the Inje University and the Sungkyul University. By the experiment we represent a new model for constructing a EDS system, the EDS system is applicable in reality, and its availability of expansion.","PeriodicalId":176934,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Signal Acquisition and Processing","volume":"72 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125752261","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Flat morphological structure element is selected according to the characteristics of electroencephalography(EEG) and morph-ological features of different scales are obtained with pattern spectrum. Then, support vector machines(SVM) is used as the classifier. Testing results show that the average classification accuracy is up to 97.7% for two kinds of mental tasks and 93.0% for five kinds of mental tasks. This method has a simple calculation and effective feature extraction performance, so it could be a valid method for real time control of EEG.","PeriodicalId":176934,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Signal Acquisition and Processing","volume":"425 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115955165","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thermographic cameras are used in many heavy factories like metal recycling factories, wafer production factories and etc for monitoring the temperature conditions of the machines. Besides, thermographic camera can be used to detect trespassers in environment with poor lighting condition, whereby, the conventional digital cameras are less applicable in. In this paper, we proposed two simple and fast detection algorithms into a cost effective thermal imaging surveillance system. This surveillance system not only used in monitoring the functioning of different machinery and electrical equipments in a factory site, it can also used for detecting the trespassers in poor lighting condition. Experimental results show that the proposed surveillance system achieves high accuracy in monitoring machines conditions and detecting trespassers.","PeriodicalId":176934,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Signal Acquisition and Processing","volume":"190 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133684919","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The theme is implemented for the parallelized persons by voice activated wheelchair throughspeech processing using Digital Signal Processor (DSP). TheTexas Instruments TMS320C6711 DSP Starter Kit (DSK) isconnected with the wheelchair for processing of the voicesignal. The DSK calculates the energy, zero crossing andstandard deviation of the spoken word. It also generatesdifferent desired analog signals according to the spoken words which further amplified and converted into digital. These digital signals are used to operate the stepper motor. Five words are recognized which are forward, reverse, left, right and stop. Improving the quality of sensors to collect all information about a scene has technical limitations. Image fusion is applied to integrate multiple images of the scene having focus on different objects and to present cumulative clear view of the scene. Discrete wavelet transform is applied on every image block with the assumption that images have focused or blurred areas rather than individual pixels. Prewitt edge detector is applied on wavelet coefficients to find clearer blocks from source images. A decision map is constructed for clear blocks from each image. Using this decision map clearer non-boundary blocks are copied from the source images to the resulting fused image, whereas boundary blocks are fused using ‘Maximum Wavelet Coefficients Method’. The proposed scheme assures better performance when put to test using image quality evaluation metrics.","PeriodicalId":176934,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Signal Acquisition and Processing","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-04-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128916277","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
