Senyawa bioaktif yang dihasilkan oleh bulu babi memiliki potensi untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai senyawa antibakteri alami. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan aktivitas antibakteri dari ekstrak duri, badan dan gonad Bulu Babi. Metode penelitian yaitu metode eksploratif dan dianalisis secara deskriptif, melalui tahapan ekstraksi dengan pelarut etanol dan uji sensitivitas dengan metode difusi Kirby-bauer. Bulu babi diperoleh dari Pantai Barat Pangandaran, Jawa Barat, Indonesia. Dari ketiga ekstrak bulu babi, ekstrak gonad memiliki aktivitas antibakteri tertinggi pada konsentrasi 80% dengan zona hambat 8,5 mm terhadap bakteri Escherichia coli dan konsentrasi 80% dengan zona hambat 14 mm terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus, dan didapatkan 3 isolat  bakteri dari duri bulu babi dan isolat  yang didapatkan adalah koloni putih kekuningan termasuk basil gram positif, koloni putih termasuk basil gram positif dan basil gram negatif serta koloni kekuningan yang termasuk basil pendek gram positif. Isolat 1 lebih efektif  terhadap S. aureus dengan zona hambat 11 mm. Isolat 2 lebih efektif terhadap E. coli dengan zona hambat 11 mm. Salah satu cara memperbaiki hasil dan kualitas umbi bawang merah, yaitu dengan aplikasi pupuk NPK 15-15-15 dan pupuk hayati Trichoderma. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendapatkan kombinasi aplikasi pupuk NPK 15-15-15 dan pupuk hayati Trichoderma sp yang sesuai untuk meningkatkan hasil dan kualitas umbi bawang merah. Penelitian dilakukan di bawah naungan plastik Balai Penelitian Tanaman sayuran, Lembang (1.250 m dpl) dari Juli – Oktober 2012. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) pola faktorial 3x3 dengan 3 ulangan. Faktor I adalah dosis pupuk NPK 15-15-15 yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu: 0 kg/ha, 250 kg/ha dan 500 kg/ha. Faktor II adalah pupuk hayati yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu: Trichoderma, Trichoderma + Aspergillus dan Trichoderma+ Penicillum, masing-masing dengan dosis 1010. Parameter yang diamati meliputi; tinggi tanaman, luas daun, dan bobot kering tanaman 40 hst, analisis tanaman pada 40 hst (kandungan unsur hara N, P, dan K tanaman), hasil umbi benih saat panen (jumlah umbi anakan, bobot individu umbi, bobot umbi per tanaman dan bobot umbi total), kandungan bahan kering umbi saat dipanen, analisis bobot akar (segar) bobot akar kering setelah umbi dipanen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi pupuk NPK 15-15-15 dosis 250 kg/ha yang dikombinasikan dengan pupuk hayati Trichoderma + Aspergillus meningkatkan persentase akar bawang merah dengan bobot kering akar bawang merah tertinggi  didapat pada perlakuan aplikasi NPK 15-15-15 dosis 250 kg/ha + pupuk hayati Trichoderma yakni 13,67. Hasil umbi bawang merah nyata meningkat dengan aplikasi pupuk hayati Trichoderma, yaitu bobot individu umbi (8,58 g), bobot umbi per rumpun tanaman (40,97 g/tanaman) dan bobot total umbi (10,24 t/ha).Alfano, Ivey, Cakir & J.I.B, B. Indonesia sendiri merupakan rumah bagi 17%  spesies burung yang ada di muka bumi. Keragaman jenis burung pada suatu komunitas juga dapat menjadi indikator lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keragaman jenis burung pada berbagai tipe komunitas yang terdapat di Pulau Sangiang, Banten. Komunitas yang diamati yaitu komunitas hutan dataran rendah, kebun dan hutan mangrove. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode Point Count, dimana pada tiap komunitas ditentukan sebanyak enam titik hitung yang mempunyai jarak sekitar 200 m tiap titik hitungnya. Berdasarkan penelitian ini didapatkan 52 spesies burung dari 31 famili yang tersebar di masing-masing ekosistem. Dari ketiga komunitas, indeks keanekaragaman tertinggi dijumpai pada ekosistem kebun yaitu senilai 2.76, ekosistem mangrove dengan nilai 2,61 dan indeks keanekaragaman paling rendah terdapat pada ekosistem dataran rendah dengan nilai indeks keanekaragaman 2.56. The purpose of this study is to identify the landscape character and anthropogenic activity that influence mud clam conservation strategy in the coast of Tabanio Village, Takisung Sub-District in Tanah Laut Regency. The research discovered seven types of landscape in the coastal area of Tabanio namely human settlements, rice fields, plantations, cemetery abandoned land, offices, and other public infrastructures. Landscape, landscaping, abandoned land and settlements provide the largest contribution (96 %t) in the formation of coastal characters. Related to changes in landscape structure, environmental pollution activity in the form of waste disposal to the landscape is the most frequent activity (91.4 %) related to changes in landscape structure. Destructing collecting, cutting down  and destroying plants and animals in and from the region (87.7%) are the most frequent anthropogenic activities related to the conservation of mud clam in the coast of Tabanio Village. The landscape zonation consists of four i.e : recreation zone, mangrove forest zone, economic zone and distribution zone. The position of each zone tends to clump primarily for the economic zone behind the recreation zone. The core zone  of the landscape design at Tabanio Coast , Takisung District is concentrated in the recreation zone which functions as a meeting place for various communities (fishermen, traders and visitors) and the government workers (village officials and TNI-Polri). Furthermore, the recreation zone also facilitates activities that support coastal economy and tourism. To improve the quality of seed, soybean seed were coated  with Trichoderma sp. and adding bokashi organic fertilizer. This research aimed at finding the best dose combination of Trichoderma sp.  and bokashi fertilizer to improve the quality of soybeans. The research was conducted in the experiment field and Laboratory of Seed Technology at Padjadjaran University in April - August 2017. The experimental design in this research was Randomized Block Design (RBD). The treatments were the combination  of four dose values of coating the seed by Trichoderma sp. (0g/100 seeds, 1g/100 seeds, 2g/100 seeds, and 3g/100 seeds) and three dose  of bokashi (0g/polybag, 300g/polybag, and 600g/polybag) and each treatment was replicated three times. This study aims to describe the sanitary and hygienic conditions of food sold by merchant in Cibiru, Bandung City, West Java. The study was conducted in May-June 2017 by determining five sampling location based on the number of merchant in Cibiru. Data was obtained through questionnaire filling of 40 respondents at each sampling point which was then analyzed to find out the characteristics of social-demographic of the respondents, personal hygiene, and support of environmental sanitation. The results shows that the sanitation and hygiene of food in the aspect of knowledge of personal hygiene showed that the food handler was experienced food processors (88%) and 12% had no experience even though their last education was not linear with their trading profession. In addition, respondents' knowledge of individual hygiene shows that out of the nine aspects observed, 33% are in the high category, 11% are moderate and 56% are in the low category. Aspects of environmental sanitation and other support of food sanitation show that the conditions are in the clean and adequate category. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak etanol daun sambiloto terhadap jumlah dan motilitas spermaozoa mencit (Mus musculus L.) jantan galur DDY. Sebanyak 24 ekor mencit jantan dengan berat antara 100-125 g yang dibagi menjadi empat kelompok perlakuan, diberikan ekstrak etanol secara oral selama 15 hari. Kelompok mencit pada perlakuan satu (P1) diberikan ekstrak etanol daun sambiloto 84 mg/kg bb. Kelompok mencit pada perlakuan dua (P2) dan tiga (P3) masing-masing diberikan ekstrak etanol daun sambiloto 140 mg/kg bb dan 196 mg/kg bb. Sedangkan kelompok kontrol (P0) tidak diberi perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada kelompok perlakuan P3 (196 mg/kg bb) menunjukkan jumlah spermatozoa terbanyak yaitu 7,33 juta/ml, mengalami penurunan sebesar 78,86% terhadap kontrol. Kandungan senyawa andrografolid dan flavonoid pada ekstrak sambiloto diduga kuat menjadi penyebab penurunan jumlah dan motilitas spermatozoa mencit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui  kualitas semen Domba Lokal dan mengetahui level gliserol yang menghasilkan kualitas semen post-thawing yang paling optimal. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan level gliserol (4%, 5%, 6% dan 7%) dan 14 kali ulangan. Parameter yang diamati meliputi motilitas, abnormalitas dan recovery rate. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam (ANAVA) dan perbedaan antar perlakuan diuji menggunakan Uji lanjut Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa level gliserol berpengaruh nyata (p<0.05) terhadap motilitas dan recovery rate namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap abnormalitas sperma. Perlakuan level gliserol 5% nyata (p<0.05) menghasilkan motilitas (40,47%) dan recovery rate (46,53%) tertinggi dibanding perlakuan lainnya. Program ini telah memberikan dampak positif dan negatif. Dampak positif di antaranya dapat meningkatkan poduktivitas padi sawah secara makro. Sementara itu, dampak ngatifnya diantara telah menyebabkan kepunahan anekaram varietas padi lokal secara masif. Oleh karena itu, kajian tentang kepunahan anekaragam padi lokal di berbagai kawasan perdesaan di Jawa Barat dan Banten sangat penting untuk diteliti. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mengkaji  pengetahuan masyarakat perdesaan tentang ekologi, terutama  kaitannya dengan pengeloaan keanekaragaman varietas padi lokal dan perubahannya dampak Revolusi Hijau, berlandaskan   dari studi kasus pada masyarakat Baduy, Desa Kanekes, Kabupaten Lebak, Banten Selatan dan masyarakat Kampung Naga, Tasikmalaya, Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metoda kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan etnoekologi, yaitu peneliti mempelajari pengetahuan penduduk perdesaan tentang berbagai aspek ekologi dalam kaitannya dengan pengeloaan padi lokal. Teknik pengumpulan data lapangan dilakukan dengan observasi dan wawancara mendalam terhadap informan yang kompeten yang dipilih secara’ purposive’. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sejatinya para petani ‘huma’ Baduy dan petani sawah Kampung Naga memiliki peran penting dalam mengkonservasi anekaragam varietas padi lokal secara in-situ. Namun, akibat program Revolusi Hijau, beberapa varietas padi lokal sawah penduduk Kampung Naga mengalami kepunahan. Sementara itu, kepunahan anekaragam varietas padi lokal di ‘huma’ Baduy tidak terdokumentasikan. Mengingat penduduk Baduy tidak menerima program Revolusi Hijau. Kepunahan keanekaragam varietas padi lokal dapat disebabkan oleh berbagai faktor, seperti kebijakan pemerintah, perubahan ekosistem, dan akibat perubahan sistem sosial ekonomi dan budaya masyarakat. Penelitian ini dapat memiliki kontribusi penting untuk ilmu pengetahuan dan kepentingan praktis. Berdasarkan kepentingan ilmu pengetahuan yaitu dapat bermanfaat untuk pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan, khususnya dalam bidang etnoekologi dan etnobotani. An isolated VTM1 identified as Aspergillus sp. as a cellulase producing mold, and proven produced extracellular cellulase in solid state fermentation of palm oil empty fruit bunches. The obtaining crude cellulase was purified to homogeneity by ammonium sulfate precipitation, gel filtration on Sephadex G-100 chromatography, and finally purified on ion exchange chromatography on DEAE Cellulofine A-500. The yield and purification fold were 12.89% and 107.50, respectively. The purified cellulase was easily released glucose when 5% CMC applied as substrate, as shown by TLC analysis.
