The system provides the infrastructure for conducting computer-based examination which the candidates may be spread over in large areas. The system aims to map the real world examination system and concentrates the full stage of the examination from question setting to answer evaluation. By implementing this system using mobile agent gives us several advantages like scalability, flexible structuring, dynamic extensibility, push-pull modes of information dissemination, evaluation of subjective question, and transparency to varying communication channels, application layer multicasting, network latencies and dynamic content delivery.","PeriodicalId":176588,"journal":{"name":"2008 5th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology","volume":"78 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122831520","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Web survey is widely used to gather user opinions on various purposes. However, most such systems are plain-text, and sometimes with a few graphical images. This paper presents an innovative Multimedia-Based and Time-Sensitive Interactive (MTI) Web Survey to collect user opinions on the traffic condition. Open source development tools and emerging web technologies, such as PHP and AJAX, are used in implementing the system to achieve event-sensitive user opinions. This MTI web survey, though presented and illustrated by using road user opinion on traffic condition data, is a general technique that can be applied to any time-sensitive data collection. The usability testing on MTI web survey was also conducted to gain insights on usage issues and the results are discussed.","PeriodicalId":176588,"journal":{"name":"2008 5th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology","volume":"93 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126258123","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the attempt has been conducted to solve the problem of metal artifacts in cone-beam X-ray CT. The proposed method is applied directly to CT measurement data. First, the metal objects in the reconstructed image are detected and then reprojected to obtain the raw data using cone-beam reconstruction. The missing projections caused by the metal objects are replaced with their surrounding unaffected area through interpolation. Finally, the corrected raw data are reconstructed with the convex algorithm, which is the iterative algorithm for maximizing the likelihood function. The reconstructed images of metal artifact data using statistical reconstruction tends to be superior to conventional filtered backprojection (FBP) reconstruction.","PeriodicalId":176588,"journal":{"name":"2008 5th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116568812","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to nonlinear I-V characteristic of PV cells, the system must include an algorithm to obtain the maximum power from PV cells at any atmospheric condition. The method used in this paper is the incremental conductance (INC) algorithm. The BTCS converter is selected as a power stage with the two-cell semiconductor switching devices controlled to obtain a maximum power from PV cells. The H-bridge inverter provides a sinusoidal current and synchronizes with the grid voltage. The control of the inverter is based on ramp comparison control with constant switching frequency and zero crossing voltage detectors. The experimental results in a test lab showed the effectiveness of the proposed PV system in both constant and rapidly changing in atmospheric conditions.","PeriodicalId":176588,"journal":{"name":"2008 5th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116596850","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Previous research and development for indoor localization includes infrared, wireless LAN and ultrasonic. However, these technologies suffer either from the limited accuracy or lacking of the infrastructure. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is very attractive because of reasonable system price, and reader reliability. The RFID localization can be categorized into tag and reader localizations. In this paper, major localization techniques for both tag and reader localizations are reviewed to provide the readers state of the art of the indoor localization algorithms. The advantage and disadvantage of each technique for particular applications were also discussed.","PeriodicalId":176588,"journal":{"name":"2008 5th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology","volume":"37 5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120953091","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
