These youths, 365 million strong, will shape the future of the nation. Although the Government of India has been spending enormous amount of money in a relentless manner over decades and the current cohorts of youth are healthier and better educated than ever before, the fact of the matter is, vulnerabilities still persist for adolescent girls (World Bank, 2014). We argue in this paper that vulnerability of adolescent girls cannot be dealt with by executing verticals programmes in Education, Health, Nutrition and Protection in isolation rather it needs to be handled by running these programmes in a converged manner. The comprehensive reports and analysis of data across these domains would provide a 360-degree view of individual girls, predicting their potential vulnerability well ahead of time, thereby enabling the stakeholders to intervene and prevent untoward incidents like child marriage, child labour, child pregnancy, and trafficking among others. Furthermore, insights generated from analysing the data from the field can be used to identify the areas of improvement for the programme as applicable to decision makers at different levels of societal structure starting with villages to blocks to districts. This paper describes a digital solution called G-Power that comprehensively addresses the above challenges, and shares insights from a field trial carried out in two districts of West Bengal in India. \u0000Keywords: mobility, social welfare, vulnerability assessment","PeriodicalId":175901,"journal":{"name":"Social and Management Research Journal","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128598566","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the literature search, these factorsare categorised into three domains which are students’ attitude, students’background and teacher-related factors. A survey research was done to asample of engineering degree students who are taking Engineering Calculussubject at their third semester. It was found that non-systematic study styleis the greatest factor which has been claimed by the respondents as themain reason for their failures. Besides this, a majority of the students arecomfortable with studying alone, as compared to taking part in study groupor seeking help from lecturers. These findings suggest that corrective actionsshould be taken by the students, lecturers, as well as the faculty in order tocope with the alarming failure rate of mathematics subject.","PeriodicalId":175901,"journal":{"name":"Social and Management Research Journal","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129219886","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the SignallingTheory, we postulate that the public issues (PI) and offer for sale (OFS)ratios to contain properties to signal the intention of the issuers at time oflisting. Our samples are collected from the Bursa Malaysia from 2002 to2008 and the performances are tracked till 2011. The regression results areconsistent with the Signalling Theory which stipulates that when issuerssell down their stakes, it sends a gloomy signal, even though the offer ofOFS does not cause any dilution to company’s value. In addition, smallcompanies with high OFS ratio record weaker long-run performance thanlarge companies.","PeriodicalId":175901,"journal":{"name":"Social and Management Research Journal","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132454495","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, MFIs need to ascertain thechallenges to maintain their sustainability and sustain their operations.Additionally, MFIs should focus on aspects such as intellectual capital(IC) to ensure future sustainability. The aim of this research is to examinehow IC dimensions, specifically, customers, structure, human, and socialcapital, influence MFIs performance. A cross-sectional survey design wasused to gather data from 145 managers (48% response rate) from MFIs inMalaysia. In order to determine the sample size of the study, a purposivesampling method was employed. The research model was analysed byusing Partial least square-structural equation (PLS-SEM). Subsequently,the research model was validated using Smart PLS 3.2.5 and the proposedstudy hypothesis. The findings confirm that structural capital and customercapital positively influence the performance of MFIs, except for social andhuman capital. The research model explains 67.6% of the substantial amountof variance in MFIs performance. Textbooksand presentation slides are among the sources used in the delivery ofknowledge. However, in order to facilitate different students’ learning styles,alternatives for textbooks must be considered, allowing the course contentto be organised in smaller chunks. This paper describes the developmentontology process using ontology learning technique. Ontology is a set ofknowledge which contains objects, concepts, entities, and the relationshipsamong them in a particular domain. In this study, the course chosen toanalyse the development of ontology is Fundamentals of Computer Science(CSC401). This is an introductory course taken by students during semesterone in the Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences. Textbook is thesource used in developing this ontology. The technique chosen in this studyis a semi-automatic ontology development that can accelerate the processof producing a new ontology, while the development phases involved arethe ‘extraction of important concepts’ and ‘representation of ontology’.The result shows that an ontology can be represented in the form of visualgraph such as mind map. This matches the learning preference of visuallearners and enrich their learning experiences.","PeriodicalId":175901,"journal":{"name":"Social and Management Research Journal","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125440693","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The procedure is designed for massive openonline learning and paperless essay-based test which is more difficult tobe analysed.
