Identifying the motivation to improve and maintain on learning activities or process or learning a language which have been depend on internal strengthen or internal mechanism. Objectives: Motivated students will use an active learning attitude to learn and express a keen interest who is learning, and concentrate in class to gain knowledge. Method: In this paper, the best previous research papers has been reviewed, and it has found that the investigator defines the term motivation, types of motivation, the role of motivation in language learning and crucial factors of motivation. Result: The learners were motivated both integratively and instrumentally. The method of this research was conducted by using experimental method. The population of this research was the students at the first semester of the eighth grade at MTs Negeri 1 Bandar Lampung 357 students in 10 classes. In this research, the writer got VIII A as the experimental class there are 33 students and VIII B as the control class there are 33 students. Intaking the sample, the writer used random sampling technique. In collecting the data, the writer used multiple choice test to measure the students’ reading comprehension. Multiple choice or objective response is a form of an objective assessment in which respondents are asked to select only correct answers from the choices offered as a list.In analyzing the data, the writer used .After analyzing the data used formula. Based on the result, the writer found that average score of student’s reading comprehension in experimental class higher than control class (). It means that, Picture book media were successful to increase the students’ vocbulary mastery. Then, the writer also concluded there is significant influence of picture books media towards students’ vocabulary mastery at eighth class of MTs Negeri 1 Bandar Lampung. It was proved by the result of calculation by using formula that was higher than ttabel ( 3.75> 2.00 > 2.66). The researchers aim to describe the portrayal of black feminism ideas inside the poem to raise awareness regarding the issues of discrimination toward the black community especially women. This study aims to answer the question of how is the black feminism ideas portrayed in the poem entitled homage to my hips by Lucille Clifton. This research used descriptive qualitative method typically library research with textual analysis since the data of this research are in the form of words and phrases within the stanza. The data source is the poem entitled Homage to My Hips poem by Lucille Clifton, and data sources are the poet’s background of life, journals, and previous studies. This research used intersectionality and black feminism thought theory as the approaches. In order to answer the research question, the researchers used the parameters of black feminism ideas according to the black feminist thought and intersectionality theory to capture the ideas of black feminism in the poem. This technique helped the students to comprehend the story by imagining it with the strip of pictures. The objective of the research was to know the influence of comic strips towards students’ reading comprehension in recount text. In this research the writer used experimental method or known as descriptive quantitative research. The population was 48 students in 2 classes. The sample was taken by using Total Sampling Technique. The writer took all of the classes as the sample of research namely experimental and control class. It consisted of 45 students; the other students were absence. The main technique in measuring students’ reading comprehension was multiple choice which consisted of 40 items test. Each item has four options a,b,c, and d. The score each item was 2.5. In calculating the data analysis, the writer used t-test formula. Based on the data analysis, the writer got the result that was accepted. It was obtained that = 4.45, for α= 0.05 was 1.68 and for α=0.01 was 2.42 (4.45 > 1.68 < 2.42). So, was accepted. It meant that there was significant influence of comic strip toward students’ reading comprehension on recount text at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 8 Bandar Lampung in 2021/2022. In overcoming this problem, the researcher tried to used of think predict read and conect strategy. In reading ability this strategy can help the students in comprehending the text easily. The objective of the research was to know the influence of of think predict read and conect strategy towards students’ reading ability. In this research the writer used experimental method. The population of this research was 281 students. The sample was taken by using Cluster Random Sampling technique. In data collecting technique the writer used test, the test was multiple choice, consisted of 40 items. Based on the result of the data analysis and computation which used the formula of ttest, the result of analysis the data is significant, which is ttest > ttab : 4.03 > 1.67. From the result of analysis data, the writer could to give some conclusions as 1).The average score of the students’ reading ability who were taught by think, predict, read, and connect strategy was higher than who were taught with conventional strategy. It was seen from average score of test on experimental class is higher than the average score of control class X1 = 76.2 > X2 = 67.78. 2).There is a significant influence of giving translation assignment towards students’ English reading ability. According to Spivak, subaltern does not have their own voice. She then proposes the idea of letting the intellectual intervention in voicing subaltern’s voice. However, her proposal is opposed by some theorist; one of them is Homi Baba. He believes that there is no need to borrow intellectual voice because the subaltern voicing themselves, due to the ambivalence of the colonizer’s power. It is qualitative study. There were 73 students the fourth semester of English department of STKIP PGRI Bandar Lampung who were taken purpossively as the sample. It is found that, from 554 sentences, there are 17.15% (or 95 words) errors made by the students in the forms of nouns, 19.13% (or 106 words) errors in the forms of pronouns and determiners, 96.2% (or 533 words) errors in the forms of verbs, and 2.53% (or 14 words) errorrs in the forms of adjectives. The purpose of this survey study is to examine students’ perception on the integration of culture into ELT practice. The participants were the third-semester students in Mathematics Education Study Program, STKIP PGRI Bandar Lampung (Institute of Teachers Training and Education of PGRI Bandar Lampung), Indonesia. The data was collected using a questionnaire which was posted for the students who were taking the compulsory English subject. It is found that tertiary level students in Indonesia have realized the necessity and importance of placing culture in learning English. One of the importance is that placing culture into English classes could encourage students’ interest and motivation in learning English. The students also agree that their English language skills, speaking, writing, reading and listening, influenced by the existence of cultural content in their learning activities could be improved.
