Two in the superior and two in the inferior, totally four corneal keratitis foci have been seen after post-operation first day controls. The superior eyelid meibomitis has been determined after detailed examination. It was thought that the keratitis foci developed because of this process. The patient hospitalizated and his treatment is reorganized. Corneal keratitis foci became smaller, corneal epithelial defects totally cicatrized after 6 days treatment and the patient was discharged. On the follow-ups, keratitis foci were recured by a minimal nephelions. As a result, although cross-linking process of keratoconus treatments are less invasive than the other methods, bacterial keratitis can be seen in the presence of predisposing factors. Meibomitis can lead to the development of bacterial keratitis as in our case.","PeriodicalId":17427,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Turgut Ozal Medical Center","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74970926","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Different drug groups are used for the prophylaxis and treatment of nausea and vomiting. Ondansetron, a “carbazalone” derivative, is structurally similar to serotonin and effectively used in the treatment of nausea and vomiting, particularly in chemotherapy applications, by antagonizing the selective 5-hydroxytryptamine-3 (5-HT3) receptor. Ondansetron has also been used for postoperative nausea and vomiting effectively and safely for a long time. In this case report, we aimed to present visual disturbance and acute dystonic reaction following use of ondansetron for postoperative nausea and vomiting.","PeriodicalId":17427,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Turgut Ozal Medical Center","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85240841","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Materials and Methods: Dega osteotomy was performed on 43 hips (7 were bilateral) of 36 patients with DDH. In preoperative and final follow-up; the acetabular index (AI), acetabular depth ratio (ADR) and Wiberg's center-edge angle (CEA) were measured in anteroposterior pelvic radiographs. Hips were classified in accordance with TA¶nnis classification system. Radiological findings were evaluated in accordance with Severin classification system. Avascular necrosis (AVN) of the hips were evaluated according to Kalamchi-MacEwen classification system. Results: The mean age was 87 months (48-130 months), mean follow-up period was 30.5 months (15-62 months). The mean preoperative and final follow-up values of AI were 43° (28°to 60°) and 19° (6° to 34°), respectively. The mean preoperative and final follow-up values of ADR were detected as 14 (8 to 24) and 26 (18 to 42), respectively.The mean CEA was found as 38° (18° to 61°) at the final follow-up. Of the hips, 37 were TA¶nnis type 4 and 6 were Type 3. Totally 10 hips had AVN; of those, 6 were Type 1, 2 were Type 2 and 2 were Type 3 hips. According to Severin classification, 11 hips were Type 1a, 3 were Type 1b, 22 were Type 2a, 5 were Type 2b and 2 were Type 3. Total talar dislocations are caused by high-energy traumas occuring as dislocations from all its surrounding articulations. Pathophysiologic mechanisms are still a subject of controversy. Most reported cases are open talus dislocations; closed dislocations are rarely seen. Here, we present a 25 year old male with an injury of closed posterior total talus dislocation with concomitant medial malleolus fracture. After closed reduction of talus, internal fixation of medial malleolus was performed. At the last visit, the ankle was painless, stable with mobility, and without any radiologic signs of avascular necrosis of talus.","PeriodicalId":17427,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Turgut Ozal Medical Center","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79913205","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Material and Methods: Images of the patients who were refereed for PET/CT evaluation with suspicion of mesothelioma were respectively analysed. They were classified according to final histopathologic diagnosis. Involvement patterns, SUVmax of the lesions, mediastinal and extrathoracic lymph node, peritoneum involvement, distant metastasis were evaluated. Results: Findings of 25 patients were analysed. According to final diagnosis; eight patients were mesothelioma, 9 patients were lung cancer, a patient was colon cancer, other 2 patients were diagnosed as renal cell cancer and metastasis of lymphoma. In 5 patients; involvements were inflammatory. SUV max values of inflammatory cases (5.6±2.4) and cases with malign involvement (9.1±2.3) and pleural involvement patterns of benign and malignant cases were significantly different (p=0.001, p=0,01). SUV max of mesotheliomas, metastatic lesions were not statistically different (p=0.367). There were no significant differences between the pleural involvement patterns of pleural mesothelioma and metastatic pleural involvements (p=0,14). Mediastinal LAP’s were detected in 8 metastatic and in 6 mesothelioma cases. There was not any mediastinal LAP in benign cases. Peritoneal involvement was determined in 8 patients with pleural metastases, in 4 patients with mesothelioma. Bone marrow involvement, chest wall invasion was determined in one each mesothelioma cases. Contralateral lung lesion was determined in 1 metastatic patient. Invasion of chest wall was seen in 2, bone marrow involvement in 1, bone metastasis was detected in 4 patients. Two patients with metastatic involvement had hepatic metastasis, 4 had surrenal metastasis. Conclusion: SUV max values of benign lesions were significantly lower than malign involvements. Involvement patterns could be useful for differentiating benign from malign pleural involvements, when evaluated together with the SUVmax. There was not any difference between mesothelioma and metastatic involvements according to patterns, SUVmax values. PET/CT could determine the thoracic/extra-thoracic primary tumor. This would reduce the burden, cost of diagnostic process. Whole-body evaluation contributes a more accurate staging of malignant cases.","PeriodicalId":17427,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Turgut Ozal Medical Center","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76176696","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
