It was confirmed by numerical experiments that vertical seepage flow and interflow generated in the vadose zone are particularly important for short-term evaluation. In addition, the necessity of dividing the ground surface into high resolution to model the rainfall runoff process that occurs on the ground surface was also confirmed, but computer capacity is limited at present. Therefore, since division into high resolution is not practical, it is necessary to devise measures to match the capacity. Furthermore, since the resolution of underground information is very coarse compared to information observed on the ground, it is necessary in the future to make efforts to construct a social mechanism for accumulating underground information and raise the resolution even a little.","PeriodicalId":173171,"journal":{"name":"Journal of groundwater hydrology","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131226373","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the other hand, inexperienced users may analyze without understanding these points because numerical analysis packages are widely used. We examined the influence of differences in handling such as boundary conditions and unsaturated hydraulic properties on analysis results for rainfall infiltration problems on slopes using general programs for the saturated and unsaturated seepage flow. As a result, there is little difference in analysis results such as temporal change of pressure heads when the initial saturation is high. On the other hand, in the initial dry state, the analysis results show some differences in the handling of fluid behavior and unsaturated hydraulic conductivity.","PeriodicalId":173171,"journal":{"name":"Journal of groundwater hydrology","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133992681","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
