The publications in question are: a collection of piano compositions by Robert Tolinger Pictures and Opportunities from Children's Life and Youth Joy (1886), a manual by Isidor Bajić Piano and Piano Learning (1903) and a textbook by Danica Krstić Piano School (1911). The mentioned publications are not on the list of the current Curriculum for initial piano lessons. They are not even mentioned as proposed literature for the subject Methodology of piano teaching, which is attended by students of basic academic studies in the field - piano. The aim of this paper is to emphasize the value of the mentioned teaching literature which belongs to the historical and pedagogical heritage of the Serbian people. Since human activities threaten the living world through negligent actions and the use of technical and chemical agents that pollute water, air, land and the environment as a whole, it is necessary to develop environmental awareness and culture at the earliest age of every child. This is a precondition for their proper development and attitude towards nature, that is, towards the places they live in. Preschool children must be brought up to understand the need for and significance of clean water, land and air, as well as to behave environmentally friendly in all situations, which will speak of their developed environmental awareness and culture. The goal of environmental education in preschools does not only involve acquiring knowledge about the environment, but also the understanding of the natural processes that take place in it and their interdependence, as well as developing a positive attitude towards the environment, and environmental behavior. The role and significance of educators in a modern preschool institution are reflected in providing a diverse living space, creating a stimulating environment for learning, understanding and developing environmental awareness in children, and awakening children's interests to preserve the natural environment. Numerous and diverse environmental activities are used for this purpose, and they can be included in the majority of learning materials that are used when teaching preschool children. These are, for example: the activities that ask the children to recognize the ecosystems and the unity of the organic and inorganic world, that is, the general connection, interdependence and balance in nature; discovery activities that expand their knowledge about the environment, build the right attitude towards it and motivation to protect, restore and improve the environment; the activities that allow the children to recognize the roles that living and non-living world have in people's lives, as well as human impact on the environment; the activities that protect and improve the environment; the activities that allow people to save, rationally use and restore natural resources in the environment. In addition to these, there are different approaches and models within the environmental education of preschool children. These are: the informational and educational model, action-related model, and the social and environmental context. The author's view is presented on the conditions created in the educational process of the university, in which the future young specialists' self-expression culture acquires the characteristics necessary for successful professional activity. Such conditions include the development of basic educational programs of professional training, which are based on the ideas of developing a the future students' self-expression culture PEO, the introduction of subjects that characterize the self-expression culture of the teacher, peculiarities of its formation; organization of students' activities in the academic and extracurricular time with involvement in situations where they can express themselves according to their personal preferences and the requirements of their professional activities; methodological support of vocational training, containing materials that reveal questions about the teachers' self-expression culture and its formation. Bearing in mind the significance of the family for the development of the child, this research pays attention to family factors that can affect the self-efficacy of elementary school children. The aim of this research was to examine the relationship between the quality of family relationships and the self-efficacy of children of elementary school age. The research involved 40 primary school pupils, ages 14 , (20 boys, 20 girls). The used instruments were FACE-IV and SEQ-C. The results showed that the subcategories of family cohesiveness and adaptability do not represent a statistically significant predictor of self-efficacy among children. Also, it has been confirmed that there is no statistically significant positive correlation between the degree of self-efficacy and the sub-scales of self-efficacy with balanced cohesion, balanced flexibility and networking. Finally, the research did not confirm the existence of a statistically significant negative correlation between the degree of self-efficacy and the sub-scale of self-efficacy with dissociation, rigidity and chaotic relations on the sample of primary school children. The obtained findings are explained in accordance with relevant empirical research. Given the fact that there is a relative crisis in the teaching of art education, this paper aims to affirm the role and importance of art culture and art, with an emphasis on preschool age. The author starts from a short historical review of fine arts practice in the educational context, after which he emphasizes the importance of fine arts and culture in society in general, and then in preschool education.
