To avoid cut off uniformity and the cathode loading problem, we choose to maintain the 0.4 mm G1 aperture diameter. For the higher resolution requirement, the depth of the common lens and the object distance were increased. The former will enlarge the equivalence main lens diameter and spherical aberration was reduced. The latter will cause larger object distance, i.e., smaller magnification. According to the modeling results, the spot size of the new gun is 25.8% better in horizontal direction and 8.6% in vertical direction than our conventional \"CLEAR\" gun.","PeriodicalId":170859,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 5th Asian Symposium on Information Display. Advanced PECVD systems have been developed for low temperature deposition of a-Si, SiN/sub x/, SiO/sub 2/, SiON, and n-Si films. Typically, cluster tool configurations are used since they provide excellent process control with single substrate processing and flexible process flows. Recent reports indicate that good polysilicon TFTs have been manufactured using laser crystallization of a-Si precursor films. This paper reviews the development of PECVD systems for volume manufacturing of LCDs and discusses process technology and requirements for future manufacturing.","PeriodicalId":170859,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 5th Asian Symposium on Information Display. Using the principle of minimal action, the functional minimum and Euler equation have been solved. The results show properties of the Gauss trajectory and third order aberration. Aberrations include three parts, and can be expressed in matrix form. The electrons can go back to the Z axis. The aberrations can cancel out each other, and better spot performance can be obtained. When an electrostatic lens is placed near a screen, large aberrations will be produced.","PeriodicalId":170859,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 5th Asian Symposium on Information Display. The display using a specialized liquid crystal polymer will have some of the most desired display characteristics. Various kinds of substrate can be used, glass, plastic, transparent, opaque, rigid and even flexible. The display can be easily fabricated using printing techniques and a few simple processing steps. The whole display can be made of polymers. There is no need for hermetically sealing or precision cell-gap control. This has greatly simplified the display assembly processes. There is no need for expensive capital equipment or clean room. Nonmechanical liquid crystal alignment processes and related state-of-the-art driving technique are required to completely develop the technology. As a result, very large area displays can be produced at low cost.","PeriodicalId":170859,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 5th Asian Symposium on Information Display. ASID '99 (IEEE Cat. First, amounts of light intensity perceived by the retina are calculated. Then the pixels to which to add the equalizing pulses are determined by checking whether the disturbance is dark or bright. Also appropriate sub-fields of each pixel are chosen for emission compensation. Finally, a feedback loop is provided for a fine adjustment of luminance. The technique is applicable to any sub-field configuration.","PeriodicalId":170859,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 5th Asian Symposium on Information Display. ASID '99 (IEEE Cat. A PMS's light sources is the linear LED array. We have fabricated a 400 dpi LED array using GaAs/AlGaAs (Al/spl sim/0.65) single heterojunction structure. Problems of AlGaAs LED arrays are among the emitters. Thus, we have performed isolation by RIE and wet etching. RIE experiments were carried out at room temperature and used a mixture of gases under a variety of etching conditions. The n and p ohmic contacts were made with AuGe/Ni/Au and AuZn/Pd/Au, respectively. The AlGaAs LED array showed good quality with low forward turn-on voltages and high brightness.","PeriodicalId":170859,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 5th Asian Symposium on Information Display.
